The final of IEM6 GC New York NA qualifier between Evil Geniuses and Temporary took place today. Here is a highlight from a clutch round performed by Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert.

During the sixth round of the first map, Gilbert was the last man standing against four. Despite the pressure, he managed to win it in a brilliant manner.

dude if u had esea or paid attention to the esea news you know know that even lurppis says, and he's from the european scene, that n0thing could be the best player in the world even better than neo etc if he would commit to the game. He said what's holding him back is the motivation to play this game im not denying the part about playing in sweden will make him better but that's not the only thing that could make him the best player

I think that was mostly a problem plaguing the entire former EG lineup. You'll notice since fRoD and Storm left, not only have they been playing better, but n0thing and the rest of EG have as well. I think the changes they made really helped everyone involved. As it stands right now, n0thing is really stepping it up, both in this series and in their ESEA matches online.

they were completely out of nades and flashes. they tried peaking him together, but he isolated them one by one, giving the awper nothing to work with. there was nothing they could have done better other than a lucky headshot, because he barely left himself exposed.. outplayed

right but a good rush together would do the job. as you said he isolated them one by one. if they peaked or lets say timed all together the retake from every side and they came from every side but just one by one, he(nothing) would kill with luck 2 guys not more. not the best teamplay i would say a top team would not make such a mistake in that situation no wonder since temp is a pretty new team but yeah in the end he outplayed them :D

Everybody says that it was temp fail teamwork, but if any of you pulled this of it would be the "sickest clutch in the world". EG needs to keep their legacy as #1 in NA, can't wait to see EG playing international tournaments.

im pretty sure he left because eg wanted to ditch storm. i dont blame him for leaving. i dont see any difference at all between the eg before and the eg after. if anything, theyre worse off without having frod as the awper. hero is "lucky"at best with awp. and im pretty sure the majority of people would say storm > pauly overall. i really think that both parties secretly made the teams split up because no one could compete with eg. and now, we have a rivalry that can hopefully bring some life back into the na scene. they did it for the greater good.

People saying n0thing special have obviously not watched n0thing play very much. In that same match he won a 1v3 on CT pistol, killing three guys with one clip when they were all defending in B. Rounds like this are the norm for him, and there is rarely a match where he doesn't dominate a one versus many scenario. In most matches he wins several of these scenarios where he is fighting 2+ attackers or attacking 2+ defenders by himself. He's clearly the greatest natural talent to ever play the game. His only weakness is that he is playing on a level so far above his teammates that their chemistry suffers when they can't keep up with him and his ideas. Also, his opponents are irrelevant - he does this kind of stuff to everyone, even at international LANs. They are all just models to headshot in his eyes. edit: I guess he has another weakness, which is that his talent is a blessing and a curse as well. Because of how easily he out-shoots and out-thinks his opponents he has grown to rely on his skill rather than his team. It's very difficult for him to leave his comfortable mindset of "engage and destroy." In contrast, you could compare him with dboorN, who is also a fine aimer but is much better at controlling his aggressive tendencies and working with his team. n0thing is so used to doing whatever he wants and getting away with it against practically every opponent that it becomes a crutch.

Ive noticed jordan sprays way more than he used to, it used to be all 1 bullet header attempts and if they missed (rare) he would get into hiding and retry, or wait for recoil to wear off and burst again, nowadays he does alot of spraying. apparently it works out for him most of the time though ^^

Temp played it kind of sloppy, and underestimated him alot. He punished them for it, simple as that. Smart play, especially keeping fRoD isolated throughout 3 guys.
