Video: ESEA S9 Playoff interviews

ESEA S9 Invite Playoff will soon enter the third and final day; here is a batch of interviews from the first two days of the competition.

The first interview is with EG's Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert, who talks about how the team has prepared for the season nine ESEA Invite Playoff, as well as how addition of the two new players has been working out.

Interview number two features EG's in-game leader Andrew "Irukandji" Timmerman. Timmerman talks about the two new EG members, mentions three of the members had a bootcamp prior to ESEA and finishes off with a few comments on the upcoming IEM event in New York.

Third interview is a chat with the regular season MVP, Full Gaming's Kory "semphis" Friesen after their loss against EG in the upper-bracket semi-final. Full Gaming won first map de_mirage and Friesen mentions that they did not pracctice it once before this event, but got some help from Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen.

Fourth and final interview features Full Gaming's 15-year-old Braxton "swag" Pierce, who before this event was named rookie of the season. The interview is super short, but Pierce talks about his experience at his first LAN event and how he has been doing.

American matches are freaking sad. swagg baits in alley everyround, they run everywhere, they crouchhop while they should walk, they keep rushing BUT it doesn't work, no slow style .. holy shit.

Don't think you know what you're talking about mate. The yanks have a faster play style, doesn't make it worse. And FG has Semphis who knows every strat every good US and international team has played at every tournament and where each player plays in strats and in general over their career, and Lurppis gives them help. You can guarantee swag is doing what the strat asks of him.

Well if one looks at the level of American teams vs European teams it's pretty obvious that there is a big difference, which at least partly has to do with their playstyle. It's not that you play fast or aggressive, but I saw yesterday so many times when people just went hunting for frags when they get 1 and by doing that totally screw up the round for their team. Being aggressive or fast is one thing, playing stupid is another. This most likely has to do with the fact that there is not enough high quality teams to practice against so they don't get punished for doing that in scrims, which means that they'll end up doing it also in proper games.

I have to say these interviews were terrible. I don't know if the guy who made them was trying to be "cool" or "artistic" or whatever, but I got mostly annoyed by this style when I wanted to hear some proper comments they could have about the games.

It was the best "ESEA LAN Finals" organization ever, I was able to go there and i saw their work, they worked pretty hard, they barely had problems, I gotta say it, it was awesome. And with those BenQ monitors it was even better. Best monitors ever, for those who never got a chance to play with those, you should definitely get one and try it.
