Got questions for Valve?

Do you have any questions you want to ask Valve about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or just in general? Here is your chance to have it asked, as we tomorrow will conduct an interview with Chet Faliszek from Valve.

Valve is showcasing the PC version of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at the IEM6 Global Challenge New York, where the pros will try it out and give comments about the game. We will take the opportunity of Valve being in New York and conduct an interview with Chet Faliszek tomorrow at the event.

This is your chance to have your question asked, as we give the community the opportunity to have their questions asked. Do you have any questions? If so, then drop them in a comment below and we will go through them tonight and select some questions that will be asked in tomorrow's interview.

No questions. Just release it, and we'll go back to 1.6 and all this talk will end. Just like it did with source.

I have to agree with U, I hoped for a great esport game, then I've seen esl.tv with showmatch and questions from Joe Miller and the answers from valve guy. They're making game for casuals, it wont be an esport game anymore. Anyways, I have a question... will u change those dumb ideas: no bunny hop, 2 random given defuse kits (LOL'd hard), cs:s flash?

CS:GO hasn't been released yet and you're expecting them to confirm that the game will only last 1 year? (If ever lives up to Valve's hype) There's no need to follow my blog about CS:GO religiously, at the moment valve seems a bit blind with the game, let's see what will be the reception by the community once the game comes out ;)

What advantage do they see for the competitive scene by restricting the purchase of defuse kits as CT and only limiting it 2, randomly assigned, kits each round (as opposed to the current system in 1.6/css) - and if there is no advantage, then why "fix what isnt broken"?

YES. Please express the extreme disagreement the competitive community has with the changes to defuse kits. Kits are essential for CT's, and to limit them only makes things unbalanced.

defuse kits should be bought at the start of the round, but should be more expensive (400-500) as they are invaluable it will raise the skill ceiling for strategy as it will require teams to manage their kits, potentially make sacrifices in armour or guns to afford them and keep track of them during the round

I heard yesterday that Valve plans to make sure that no one platform has an advantage over the other. How does Valve plan to level the playing field for console gamers and PC gamers when there is such a huge advantage for using the keyboard/mouse over joysticks on a game controller?

Why you add so much cars and stuff ofc they will not change it but cs should be simple maps, I like it more its ss style

Will you guys try to improve the game? Do the weapons have any sort of patterns, like in 1.6? f.e. deagle, ak47, m4, famas, etc. Are you gonna make the hitbox and registration system more effective? Is there gonna be a division system like in starcraft 2? Like, bronze, silver, gold, platina, grand master division f.e.? Thank you!

My question concerns Valve with it's level of support for CS:GO, are they planning on supporting it's competitive scene for tournaments like they have for dota2 and so forth? Although CS has a nice competitive scene as it is, it would be a nice boost with Valve behind the project.

The TEC-9 is meant to be a cheap submachine gun. So how does it make any sense at all for it to replace the glock? Also, the glock provides a nice counterpoint for the usp in that it it's accurate while running and jumping, but does much less damage. Does Valve intend to reproduce this?

I really want to know, if they are going to make CS 2 (imo CS:GO can even be good, but it's not made for switch places with 1.6)?

Sure. In my opinion to create a new community like sc2 or cs 1.6 you need "toplayers", Players who aint toplayers just because of their amount of time played but also because of their talent. So is a player's talent recognized in CS :GO? Will there be someone too look up to for the kids too create ambitions?

Can't you make a game like cs2 something another, not like CoD2,L4D etc. Something which will grab our attention. Counter-strike: condition zero is similar to Counter-strike: Source, Source is similar to Counter-strike: Global Offensive. 1.6 doesn't have any similar game.

News flash: 1.6 is on it's last legs. WE've lost tournaments every year for the last 3 years, and the few that are still here are steadily moving further and further away from 1.6 as it's "main game." Maybe it's just me, but i'd rather see some form of CS on the main stage with the most money and the most fans and the most players etc then fucking starcraft.

bro....everybody wants to make money. Even in CS. that's why all the 1.6 players who said source was shit in america switched over when they had guarenteed 20K contracts during the year. Shit, same reason that f0rest and get_right left fnatic for SK-gaming. Same reason FX and Na'VI have gone through so many sponsors. Same reason ESL charges for HD. ETC. Don't use this bullshit "they only care about money" when everybody in eSports cares about money.

Glad you're a mind reader and have an inside line into the developer thoughts. If they only cared about money, they'd allowed aiming down the sights, cover systems, perks and loadouts. From what it appears none of that is in the game. And they seem to actually be listening to the players and making the game closer to what the players want.

chill, dude. everybody want to make money including me. by making this game they are helping the CS-community. they will gain younger players and most probably access bigger tournaments with greater prices. 1.6 IS dying and i wish it wasnt so. all i'm asking is that you give the game a chance and bare in mind that it's still an ALPHA version of the game you see.

Everyone cares about money, and only about themselves, it's in humans, YOU CAN'T CHANGE IT. Valve is a company, of course they want to make money. Do you think 1.6 developers created this game for the "players"? Maybe at first, but later they only cared about money. So...

Dear valve. 1 ) Why dont make an open beta, so also the casual gamers can leave som feedback. 2) After using 3 years on source, why would i switch to GO ? 3) Is it the same netcode from source? 4) Will you make updates to GO, like the big update to source from 2010 with alle the new stuffs. And the lateste update the "Crosshair-udpate" From 3 weeks ago? Will you keep changing the game, like you did with source? 5) Why would a 1.6 player switch ?

This is a question that has baffled me for quite a while. Why is it so hard for you(Valve) to recreate the recoil that 1.6 contains? If source had the 1.6 recoil we(the community) would probably be playing your less successful sequel already(source).

ok im problably not gona get an answer for this but here I go. I have been playing counterstrike for about 10 years and I dont feel the love from valve to this game. Dont get me wrong I love valves other game and own em all execpt portal 2. but first of all, the 1.6 community is ready for a change why not take the game play of 1.6 and move it as close as you can to the source. I have tried the new promod and I realy like it exept some glitches. and about the smgs? ever heard of "if it aint broken dont fix it" that is the motto you should have for this game. becuase if you fail this time you will lose the trust of all those CS fans and CS WILL slowly die as a compeditive game. AND I dont want that, It PAINS me that I see that future closing. as far as I have noticed the 1.6 sceen is larger then source. so why show more love to source then 1.6? I don't get it I don't get it at all. But will you do as in promod where you have a lot of stuff you can change how the game looks. And I have to say weapons skins are weapons skins and sounds are sounds but Some thing that I know wont be in the game but that I would love. Is some options that transforms the weapon to look like they do in 1.6 I mean it would go along way for me to accept the game if I could have my AK from 1.6 I and I know this is more of a statement then listed questions but I really feel like valve aint doing what the 1.6 community wants and need. I can tell you how to charm the 1.6 community and this ain't it.

Not a question, but tell them that CS isn't supposed to be reasonable, it's not supposed to look good. It's supposed to feel amazing when you play it. Like you have control over your weapon and movement. It doesn't look like you do that in CS:GO.

1) Why limit the number of defuse kits to 2, and why are they randomly assigned? For example if my CT team have to eco and we are doing a standard 3A-2B round, than we buy only 2 defkits BUT if they are randomly assigned it's possible that both B defenders will have kit and none of the A defenders. I think it's stupid. 2) Will there be a customisable crosshair? I don't like the ones in the game at all. An option to use simple crosshair is badly needed imo. 3) I watched a few videos of CS:GO and it seems to me that it's easy to frag while you run. That's very similar to CS:S but almost impossible to do in 1.6. I played both games and it's the biggest difference (apart from graphics) in these 2 games. Will the guns be more accurate if you stand in one place? PLEASE. ** OFFTOPIC ** From the videos which Ive seen I don't think this game will replace 1.6 in any time. (Only running frags, lame movement.) I'm sure there will be a community but it's nothing like 1.6 and I think there will be no game that will ever replace our beloved one. Come on, CSP is already fucking outdated (I respect the CSP editors but face it) source is a totally different story. 1.6 is loosing more and more pllayers and we can not do anything about it, it's somewhat natural after ONE DECADE. Sad but I feel it's the truth. :(

No, at first only one CT would have a defuse kit, but they were criticized a lot, so now two CT's receive it, you cannot buy it in GO.

1. Do you plan making some other CS game in the future? 2. If not - Why dont you just take the CS:Promod development team and support them to make a valuable successor of CS 1.6 under the Valve name?

I see now why valve haven't listened the cs 1.6 community before. The thread shows how many kids actually are the 1.6 community. It's full of hate comments in here. They requested from you a simple thing, to ask a question but seems you guys don't care about nothing else or everyone else who wants something new. Then why should valve listens to someone who doesn't give a shit about the others? A community and a game deserves to die with such ignorant people playing it. "If you want something, give something" .. but you can't even give a simple question. Well, baLLz4U.0

You can play the game for how many years you want, but none of the sponsors will "sponsor" the game which needs P4 and a shitty graphics card to run. Game's graphics are getting better CS has to move on too, so better be it that CS:GO is a success.

I've a couple of questions: - What are the spectator features that you're planning to implement in CS:GO? Will there be something similar to 1.6 HLTV or will it rely mostly on video streams? - If you're planning on adding something similar to HLTV, what type of new features can we expect? Would you for example consider adding a commentator mode similar to the one in C&C 3 where the person commenting the match can add free hand draws to explain a tactic to the spectators and an audio track with his voice commentaries? - Are there any plans to add more complete match statistics at the end of a match/round? Something similar to the CS:S player statistics but by round or match, and including team statistics as well. - What is your opinion on instead of adding more guns to the game, removing the unused ones and only have one or two guns of each "type" (melee, short range, mid range, long range and snipers) like for example in L4D? Considering that CS is a competitive game, where players only use the most effective way to reach their goal, it seems pointless to add more guns since sooner or later the players will only use the guns that are widely considered to be the most effective and cheap. - I've seen a demo of TF2 rendered in WebGL, have you've ever thought about turning CS 1.6 (or any other version of the game) into a "browser game" similar to Quake Live using these type of new web technologies? - CS:S movement is considered to not be very fluid when compared to CS 1.6 or fast paced FPS games like Quake. I believe I've seen a strafe jump being done in one of the preview videos of CS:GO, so what are the new movement features in CS:GO? Is there stuff like Bunny Jumping, Strafe Jumping, etc? If not would you consider adding such feature in the "competitive" mode of cs:go? - Reading the reports of the people who played the early private betas of CS:GO, it seems like at the beginning you guys had really no idea about what competitive CS 1.6 was. Considering how CS 1.6 is the second most played competitive game in the world in the past 10 years (after Starcraft), and that it has multiple tournaments world wide with thousands of dollar/euros of prize money, and a huge amount of companies investing money, even companies that are not part of the game/tech industries, why did it toke Valve so long to try to capitalize on this? - One thing that made Blizzard games become popular competitive games was their Battle.net ladders and competitions. Is Valve planning on doing something similar to this for CS:GO? I think this is all :)

why do you still concentrate on making a better CS when you already have one? graphics i assume, and so that it can go on sale for every console? that honestly means shit to me, and to most people..game play is all that matters imo real gamers know that game play >>>>>>>>>> graphics ask the Koreans and SC1

I've got a question for them! If they say they want counter-strike to be counter-strike and focus on that, instead of other FPS - WHY is it they've made the movement so much slower, sounds so much more unclear and overall they have such a high interest in realism, i mean graphics evolve and of course Counter-strike graphics should be better too. BUT what makes counter-strike 1.6 unique is that it doesn't compete with any other games on realism, it's suposed to be a simple FPS game with a very clear set of rules for how it's working. This realism they try to add to the game is NOT what we want, and that is where i think Valve is failing bigtime :)

Price of CS:GO? Is the "recoil" and "spread" like cs 1.6 ? Why not making the wallbang the same as 1.6? Can you quickscope/noscope with awp like in cs 1.6? Is the same netcode as 1.6? What have o CS:S better than CS 1.6 that you want to put in CS:GO? Will there be a customisable crosshair? Why it's so easy frag while running, ? (that's it's lame! It's not about skill) Is there Bunny Jumping, Strafe Jumping? There will be a ladder / ranking per month for each country in CS: GO? If there were such ladders would be with teams and individual players also example: individual skill where you can see on "gathers" ?

1) IN the preview beta you showed off on Thursday you it seemed like the clutter that caused problems in source have returned in go - will these props be just eye candy, or will they be tangible physics objects that could potentially stop defuses/cause damage like they did in source? 2)The recoil seemed to a bit wonky and a bit uncontrollable, do you think that you could make the patterns a little less uncontrollable and a little more predictable? 3)Can you change the crosshair? 4)What have you done to make more guns usable then they have been in 1.6 and source? 5) Will ammo be purchasable? 6) Have you learn from previous valve mistakes in the money system(the dynamic marketplace model which was used in source and the broken money system that wasn't fixed until early in 2004) and gone back to the old, working, money system? 7)On de_train you moved the bomb from the traditional location and more to a central position on the outer bombsite - why did you do this and don't think think that it's a little too close to T-side Z hallways essentially making that bombsite T-sided? 8)Will the ladders on train be moved back to the end of the trains and will either the tunnels become bigger or will the train models become shorter ? 9) on dust2 one player tried to spam through the 1 foot wall between him and a guy on mid ramp but hit nothing despite being right on him - is that a fault of him, for missing by a half inch or have those walls been less spammable than in 1.6?

CS:GO = SHIT i think everyone just wants valve support cs1.6 again and make some minor bug fixes maybe modify it for esport play? i mean this game is already 14 years old why not give it another 14 years? I dont even get i why they did start developing CS:GO where they bored? maybe get the team back that created Counter Strike in the first place and let them modifiy it, those guys where the reason 25 million players are addicted to a game that has shit grapics but has the best gamepplay ever. I mean the best example is minecraft that game isnt even old and has more succes than CS source ever is going to be. Cmon valve keep it together you already got milions of cash now give the players what the game that tehy want. Maybe a decent sequel to 1.6 thats realy worth it? But i think lots of players would return to CS 1.6 if you guys just give us some support and start modify ing the bugs you let in the game 8 years ago. =)

What game will "substitute" Counter-Strike 1.6? What to you think about CSPromod? Is it reliable? Can it be played on a professional level like Counter-Strike 1.6? Do you pretend to invest in Counter-Strike: GO so it can became a professional game? Is it possible some companies will stop investing in Counter-Strike 1.6 to start investing in Counter-Strike: Source? Can we expect Counter-Strike: 2? Why don't you invest in CSPromod to be the first replacement for CS 1.6? If CSPromod comes out and it turns out to be a huge sucessful game, do you'll give it a chance? Invest in it? I think that's all, thank you, hope this questions can be reconsidered and maybe asked to Valve.

1-Does the company consider CS to be an arcade shooter with realistic elements or a simulation with unrealistic elements? After 8 yrs of CS I feel as though its the former and CS should always be treated as such. Trying to change the game via adding in more elements to make the game feel more "realistic" take away from the very thing that makes CS, CS. I'd like to hear Valve's take on it and how they've approached making this new version of the game. I really wish Capcom would have made CS originally. We could be like the Fighting Game community right now that's enjoying an explosion in their community because Capcom gave them almost exactly what they wanted.

(1) Will the two person limit of defuse kits be only in the casual mode or does it also apply to the competitive mode? If so, could a server command possibly allow defuse kits to be bought? *Basically I'm hoping HLTV.org could express the extreme disagreement the competitive community has with the kit changes--in the most respectable way possible, of course* (2) Proper ammo management was a huge aspect of competitive play in 1.6, will ammo be able to be bought or will it be given to you once again? (3) Counter-Strike 1.6 was great because of the ability to use sound to your advantage. However, with Source, footsteps and other player sounds were muffled and their use was greatly reduced. How is CS:GO's player sound effects compared to the two games?

They didn't dumped 1.6 because of the community, but because of the development cycle of 1.6, it ended a long time ago, there's no point in keeping the game to date. Just to give you an example, CZ was supposed to be released in 2001, the 1.6 update only came out in 2003.

Yeah man. But of course HLTV community power, more preaching to the choir, the more 1.6 2strong or whatever the more powerful this hate machine becomes. And HLTV thrives on it.

One question, and some advice. The community have been hungering for valves attention the last 6-7 years, in different areas. Suddently you show up and want to create new game and listen to the community like never before.. What happened ? Like you didnt already know the game was a huge international success also 6 years ago. Please make us understand. ------------------------------- Advice With 11years of experience..If valve wants to have any chance of succes they need to do following: Keep ALL cs 1.6 movement (jumps, strafes, russian duck and so on) Keep the aimpart entirely cs 1.6 (with other chrossair skin) Change the maps to better gfx as needed reduce wallbang as needed (realistic) A thought: Talking of realistic (wallbangs) , it doesnt matter anything (almost).. It becomes a part of the game and still equal to all, but an advantage for the higher skilled and more dedicated player. Like a headshot from a glock irl wouldnt kill you irl. We know its not realistic, but its the game we love. In word, keep the generel of cs 1.6, and do your 2011 gfx updates and what not, cross platforms.

lot of u just write 1.6 forever and source blabla csgo isn't about 1.6 or source it is new game i hope better one. No1 ask u too play it if u don't want to play it stick to 1.6 CSGO New game new style and lot of improvements few things suck but at the end beta will come and i hope developers will fix those bad things. Btw one question. When beta comes everyone will have chance to test it or it will be limited ?

My question to Valve is why can't they put in "Competitive Mode" and "Casual Mode". Keep the run n' gun and cheesy gun crap for the casual people and keep more competitive movement and shooting for the competitive mode. I mean really how hard can it be to package this in one game to satisfy both crowds?

My questions are 1. how can a company so big, be so oblivious to what happened in the eSports scene with counter-strike? it's almost impossible to find a public server (on both platforms 1.6/css) that isn't filled with bots. The only people who play this game anymore are people interested in competitive play. Want a game that makes you money? fine, but don't slap the name counter-strike on it and then say "well too bad, this is the game" you are doing a disservice to an extremely loyal and passionate community by not catering to the competitive side of this game. 2. Would you ever put in a competitive mode within the game so both parties that you are catering too can be happy?

One of the greatest design "flaws" in all other counter-strike games is the lack of incentive to do the maps objectives in public games, its more fun to camp and frag An ELO stats system will likely drive the wrong behaviours, similar to how other stats systems work today which encourages less teamplay Could you look at improving the money system to aggressively compensate people who do the right thing, and punish those who don't? award more cash for planting/defusing and significantly less if you don't achieve the maps objectives

I heard yesterday that Valve has weakened the pistols and made SMGs more powerful. I think this is a huge mistake. If you want to add new features to the game, you should make sure that you aren't doing it at the expense of proven game mechanics.

+1000 I feel buffing smgs/shotguns is a huge mistake. In all iterations of cs they have always required a lesser level of skill to use. For example, shotguns can be effectively used while jumping and smgs can be used while running and gunning. Rifles/pistols require a higher level of skill to use

1) Will there be an option to change the 'view angles' of the guns? To a traditional counter strike player, the 'left 4 dead' style viewmodels look very off. 2) If possible, I'd like to know exactly what the 1.6 players gave as feedback during their playtesting through IEM6 New York, and furthermore what are some things from the feedback that you will be implementing into CS:GO in the future?

Can we laugh about people buying it on PS3/Xbox before kicking their asses ? It seems so evident that cross-platform is an epic fail, and i think that's a part of why the game looks even worse to me than Duke Nume Forever. This game is a joke ! but not a good one for 1.6 community.

Question for Valve: Why don't you make an anticheat for 1.6 that will block all the f*ucking cheat programs. You know where are those bugs in a HL1 engine so why don't you want to fix them. CS 1.6 community will always argue about that Source is a sh*t. I know it is the sh*t I've played it and I don't like it. But I also know that some dudes love Source as we 1.6 players loves CS 1.6. I know the answer anyways. Valve company will never make an 100% quality anticheat because they have profits of cheaters because when cheater's steam acc. get banned he can buy other CS 1.6. Valve if u can read this comment :) I know that you dont give a sh*t about players so please do not ask for opinions. Game from your company is the best fps game ever even written in the Guinness world records and you just can't make an anticheat. Developers you need money for living like every person on this planet we know it. You are just looking forward to make new games but you forget on the best one :)

Yes I do have few questions .... 1. Initially you guys mentioned that CS:GO will not be a replacement for 1.6\source and it is meant for the console and casual gamers..but now that you have showcased the PC version and organised a show-match, is there any idea of having CS:GO in competitive aspects? whats your the idea behind the PC version CS:GO when you have 2 streams of cs running successfully? 2. You have also mentioned that CS V2.0 will be released by 2013 Q1. So is it like CS:GO for casual gamers and 2.0 for hardcore and competitive gamers? some info about 2.0 pls ... a headsup on 2.0 pls.. 3. Are there any specific features or any ideas of future updates which makes GO a 1.6\source friendly game... because if GO needs to be huge success, it must satisfy and unite both 1.6\source casual\hardcore gamers. Since it is on the gold source engine the details n graphics might satisfy the source community, but what makes it 1.6 friendly..(The only chance for cs to fight with sc2 and the rest of the games is to unite and satisfy 1.6\source\csp players).. 4. CSS is getting updated every now and then to have a smooth gameplay and to make it bug free.. why is value updating CSS when GO is in the Beta stage and 2.0 going to be released in 2013 Q1?? 5. Your views on CSP's latest updates (1.07 and 1.08) 6. Your views on 1.6\source\CSP communities... These are some of the questions that are running in my mind whenever I think of GO.. !! Hope I get answers for some of the queries !!

What is Valve going to do about noscoping? I think the easiest solution would be to just remove the scope delay completely. In addition, the awp should be like it was in 1.5 - without the ridiculous delay after switching to the weapon.

Any sense of releasing this game? Theres no difference for me to Source right now. Just a few improvements of the graphics but still on a about 8 years old engine. So when your new engine will be leaked? Did giants programed this game? The weapons look like hum..unhuman things. Will you change the movement into a good way? For now its just walking and shooting like in Source. For this you don't need to practise and you'll be good after a few days, lol. Seriously the crosshair is more crap than I ever saw in a game were you have to shoot. These corners comming out while shooting fucking sucks. Will there be an option to turn of these crappy casual "help" like "you have to reload" or stuff like that?! And at the end, do you think its going to be an esport game? Haha :D epic question

Questions from me: 1. Do you think the Molotov will create a disadvantage for the ct's when trying to get to bomb in a competative competition.(to where the point where it will be a huge concern) 2. The game on previews seems more like COD than it does CS. How can you sell this to the CS community that its not like COD? 3. Is running around spraying and praying make it easier to sell to the public than actuially taking the skill to shoot someone with accuracy then more than luck? 4. How do you take the critisism from the majority of the 1.6 community and what do you tend to do to make them happy with this game? 5. Can you please explain why the crosshair varies so much differently from 1.6 and CSS? What made you change your minds about the crosshair look and function? 6. Can you actually see this game 5 years from now and say that it will be just as competative than 1.6? Amateure and proffesional competative. 7. Have you talked to esea about getting pugs going and leagues going right away, or will you wait and talk to them down the road about it? 8.If you have one regret about putting something in this game or taking out of the game, what would it be? 9. Are you really trying to bring the community together with this game or just attract new faces. It seems alot of people are not to excited about this game. 10. If you could sell this to the public. Why should we be excited for this game and why should we go out and buy it? Thank You if you choose any of these Nix Don

1. Why does the main coder think, that one can shoot through several walls in 1.6 whereas one actually only can shoot through one wall? (no AWP) 2. And why does he think players are dumb? I mean, a game like Counter-Strike surely gets a PEGI-Rating for 16+, and he's all talking about "oh, we removed the defkit, its too hard to understand, and oh, you get your armor every round, and oh, you get 16k every round, and yeah, you obv do not need to buy ammo" wtf. the ammo thing was already in source, but also was like keeping em dumb. moneymanagment, even buying ammo, is a big thing in 1.6 and youre destroying the interesting parts of the game more and more. e: dont understand me wrong. i know that most of these things wont be in competitive mode, but i think the players in casual mode will never learn how interesting this game can be, because the whole casual mode is just like cod where you can choose any weapon and then play a round. thats not cs. and they wont even try to use the competitive mode because they will be fucked up by money system and they cant buy what they want. or they wont try competitive because they think its like casual, which is pretty boring...

Why are you trying to make CS:GO realistic? Say like what BC2/BF3 are (OFC not so much alike)? Since 1.6 never was realistic, and thats what made it partly an epic game. Imho if you want to have a good competitive side for the game, then focus on bunch of other stuff than how realistic it is. ;) Im pumped for the release though.

When you started the development of CS:GO, what made you decide that making it an e-sport was not the priority? ("that would just be a bonus") I do understand profit is everything in your business, but there are really no indications that a game that is mostly about competing couldn't sell better than any casual game. Most importantly, a competitive game will always have people coming back for more. Look at 1.6, it still sells really well for being as old as it is and that is undoubtably because it is still the number one FPS game to compete in. How much are you willing to change the game to make the community happy with the final product? As an example, Final Fantasy XIV was a total disaster when it came out, but Square Enix decided to totally remake the game for it to be what the players wants it to be. Would you be able to go this far to satisfy the players? Why did you not take help from professional Counter-strike players (both Source and 1.6) earlier in production? Even without actually seeing the game I'm positive you could get a lot of knowledge about what makes CS so good even before the actual coding began. What was the main reason for you guys to make the game cross platform, and how are you actually gonna make that work out when the PC players have a huge advantage of using a mouse and keyboard? For example: Will it even be possible to have a recoil that demands quite a lot of skill to control when so many players will use a joystick were precise movements are nowhere near the ones you can do with a mouse.

Hmm, two questions :) - Counterstrike 1.6 is still one of the best online multiplayer games and its graphical capabilities are not very demanding. Do you think that Global Offensive's increased graphic pc requirements will force players to buy a better graphics card or just drop it ? Mind that there are still hundred of players that cannot get constant 100fps on CS 1.6. - Global Offensive sounds like a good name and i really like it. To be honest i can't see, if there is one, the connecting dot between CS 1.6 and G:O. Are we talking about 2 seperate games ? If so, do you have plans releasing Counterstrike 2.0 ?

Im tired of this nonsense - don't like, don't play it! There aren't many FPS games in the competetive Cyberworld right now, so stop bullshitting and grow up!!!

CS 1.6 is unique Why? Well because its n1 multiplayer fps game. You can see call of duty multiplayer, but all of them have singleplayer, so they're being released every year. CS 1.6 Owns.

Ok, here we go.. I have to ask you just one question.. -Can you try to mimic CS 1.6 gameplay just a little? I know its not even in beta phase, it was the same with cspromod, but just do something with recoil and movement, just try to use some physics from CS1.6, source players can also agree that CS 1.6 physics is great, not perfect, but the best from other fps games. P.S. one more question -Can you make models and their animations different from source? Now they are running like some faggots :D

I wish they would just copy 1.6 exactly but onto a new engine. Transfer every detail to the new version. 1.6 is probably the best FPS ever created and yet they wont use any common sense and are trying to reinvent the wheel. USE WHAT WORKS! I just don't understand what is so difficult. Give 1.6 an update to a new engine(not the goofy looking source engine though, we already saw how much that failed) and copy every detail. What do you think made the game so popular in the first place and why do you think the game still has so many loyal followers?
