SHOUW to miss DreamHack Winter

According to the Portuguese news portal Fraglider, k1ck ace Rui "SHOUW" Reis will not be representing k1ck at DreamHack Winter, citing an unavoidable work commitment on during the same time.

Back in September we brought you news of k1ck winning the DreamHack South Europe qualifier earning their spot in the DreamHack Winter main draw. Today it was announced that Reis will not be able to play due to a work event he could not miss.

k1ck had only recently added Christopher "mUttt" Fernandes and will now have to change their team once again to accommodate the absence of Reis.

Who will replace SHOUW at DreamHack Winter?

For now, k1ck will be represented by the following four, with a stand-in to be named soon.

Hélder "coachi" Sancho
Ricardo "foxj" Pacheco
Gonçalo "spekz" Monteiro
Christopher "mUttt" Fernandes

Stay tuned to HLTV.org as we will keep you informed as the stand-in is named. DreamHack Winter which will run from November 24-27 in Jönköping, Sweden and hand out $30,000 in cash and prizes.

Plus, it's not like it's the most original nickname. Having a "j" at the end even adds a distinguishment trait and what some might call originality. I do not know why people get so upset by it.

keznitt was defs worse player..the only player that could "replace" shouw is rmn but wtv k1ck is done tbh,i dont see them doing anything at dreamhack

when k1ck lost ax0n they got weaker, spekz is a good player but not has good as ax0n, about ax0n i don't even know what happaned to him, and i don't know why ehz left the team so that mutt could enter, worst choice EVAR! but the thing is for me, fox and shouw are the best in portugal but due to their inactivity they are loosing skill little by little, the current line-up should be: coachi fox spekz mutt ax0n (but i think ax0n is upset with k1ck)/ no one in defs will substitute SHOUW i think, so mabe some good portuguese player, there are other teams besides defs and k1ck

Fox is clearly not losing any amount of skill. Have you played him? Surely not. I agree that removing ehz was wrong. He even is my favorite player now in defs! But dont forget he was replaced with muttt. No one can say witch one is better imo.

I know u played against him, you are a known player in the portuguese cs 1.6 comunity, mutt is a great player its "impossible" to know which one of them plays better, mabe you can go in shouw's place :P JK mabe... i hate speaking english with portuguese ppl :P defs.org is a better site to talk :P

There are 100000000 players better than me mate but I do play against fox a lot and I can assure you he is still freaking amazing and clearly the best in the country. Lets wait for news and hope for the best!

A defs as stand-in would mess up their preparation for WCG. k1ck will have to take their risks on a player outside the two best teams in Portugal or maybe go for an inactive player with connection to coachi. During the last tournments, k1ck showed a lack of motivation regarding practice schedules. The absence of Shouw is not only a master blow because of his individual performances but also in their team spirit. I hope they put their sh*t together. Axon? weapon? QuicK? Norx? Lets wait and see.

It's a shame that top portuguese teams don't have the kind of support they deserve. I mean, financialy. We have the talent, the players, the attitude. But they can't do it for a living. How can they stand a change against pro teams? It's hard. Anyway, gl K1ck. It will be even harder, but you have the full portuguese community support.
