IEM6 GC Kiev stage 1 qual. concluded

The stage one qualifier for IEM6 Global Challenge Kiev was finished today with sixteen teams moving on to stage two and one step closer to qualifying for the final Global Challenge this season.

Although the qualifier featured its fair share of forfeit losses due to missing ESL Premiums and too many config files for Linesman to handle, it seemed most if not all favorites made it through to the second pre-qualifier. As previously announced, the qualifier was not played out so there are no definite final standings.

Teams that qualified for the stage two qualifier are:

The teams above will be met in stage two by the following teams that already qualified via their national qualifiers:

The format will once again be double elimination best-of-three with only the first two rounds of both upper and lower bracket being played out in order to find the top sixteen teams that will advance to the final qualifier which will decide the five teams to represent Europe at IEM6 Global Challenge Kiev.

Brackets will be announced later this week and the qualifier itself will take place on Sunday 20 November starting at 14:00 .

personally i would rate them better than their old lineup.. cly and turkizh were the only 2 players who made damage the others were just bad. they had only 1 or 2 good games, and many problems in their team. the new players know each other very long and are all good players. i think the new team is stronger in terms of teamplay :) but just my opinion, we will see what they can do :)

yes, we're trying to work with ESL to see if we could at least play our round one matches online this week and we'll have to try to play the rest of it from the LAN center on sunday but ESL wasn't really being overly supportive with that so if any of us makes top four, there's a chance we'll get forfeited out of these qualifiers

and volgare also defeated DooM (12:16, 16:5, 16:3 :P) but DooM filed a protest because 2 members of volgare had DM bots in their cstrike directory, which resulted too many config files error in this awesome linesman module :P
