fnatic beats mouz to reach final

After a match full of result changes, fnatic have managed to defeat mousesports in the semi-final of MSI BEAT IT 2011 after being one map down.

fnatic and mousesports met in the semi-final of MSI BEAT IT 2011 in what was a repeat of IEM6 GC Guangzhou final last month where fnatic came out on top in three maps. After that, they met in the group stage of ESWC 2011 when, even though the match ended in a draw, mousesports denied fnatic a chance to go through to playoffs.

The match started on de_inferno, where mousesports had just defeated ESC Gaming 16-7 less than an hour before. The German team started stronger and went on to lead 9-6 after their Terrorist side.

In the second half, mousesports started even better as they won 5 rounds in a row and the score stood at 14-6 before fnatic would get their first T-side round. Right after that, mousesports found themselves sitting on map point with 8 opportunities left to convert it. fnatic wouldn't budge easily though, as they stringed 4 rounds together, but mousesports then got their last round to win the first map 16-11.

The battle continued on de_nuke, where after a 3-3 start, mousesports went up 7-3. A few rounds later the score stood at 9-4 and mouz seemed comfortably in front, but fnatic then won the last two rounds, ending up with a solid 6 round T-side.

The second-half pistol round went to mousesports, which along with the following two anti-eco rounds secured them a 12-6 lead, only 4 rounds away from the grand final. However, fnatic then got back into the game, winning 3 rounds in a row, which caused mousesports to ask for a timeout.

That didn't help them though, as fnatic continued the run which streched all the way to 10 rounds in a row, which meant that the Swedes would take the second map 16-12 after being 6-12 down.

The remaining map was de_tuscan, on which fnatic had won all three times at this tournament. The beginning of the decider confirmed they were in great shape on that map, as they built up a 6-0 lead as Counter-Terrorists. But, mousesports showed that they are not disturbed by the 16-0 run by fnatic (counting the previous map as well), as they replied with their own 9-0 run. That meant mousesports were 9-6 ahead at half time, just like in the previous two maps.

The second half started similarly to the first, with fnatic winning 4 in a row and getting back into lead. Even though mouz brought it to 10-10 at that point, fnatic continued as they started and reached match point at 15-10. Two rounds later, they concluded the map and the match with a 16-11 win.

fnatic have recorded their second comeback win, as they also lost the first map against Anexis in the quarter-final, but won the following two. The Swedes have become the first finalists of MSI BEAT IT 2011, where they will meet the winner of the Natus Vincere and Lions clash at 21:00 .
