WEM postponed until 2012

Organizers of World eSports Masters have announced that their annual event will be postponed until 2012.

The event has been traditionally held at this time of the year and has taken place in Hangzhou, China three times since its inception. It was previously rumoured that it would not take place this year as no information had been released and today's announcement clears up the situation.

This is the official press release:

After the consultation between China side and Korea side, the World eSports MASTERS will be postponed to 2012 which is originally scheduled to be held on November 2011

due to its development strategy adjustment. The specific preparation issues will be released on the press conference jointly held by Chinese organizers and Korean organizers.

Organizing Committee of the World e-Sports MASTERS, November 2011

It does seem like the event will still take place, granted later than usual. WEM has continuously supported CS 1.6 as its main game despite adding other games on side. HLTV.org will provide more information as soon as it becomes available.

EVERYONE wants better games with GOOD graphics, not only kids, i love 1.6 but i gotta tell you, no matter how good games gameplay is if the game doesn't keep up with the times it's destined to die.

Unfortunate that they announce it the month it was meant to be held, at least for people that were in preparations in going. However glad it wasn't canceled.

Crap. But I'm still very happy that the tournament will be held in 2012 and that Counter-Strike 1.6 is the main game that they support, many tournament have given up on Counter-Strike 1.6, it's fun to see for once that it's being supported by at least one big tournament. More happy than sad.

Yeah, That's right. But new players prefer graphics to gameplay. and CS 1.6 future looks bad. You can see SC2 prices, and CS's prices. If there's 30.000$ for SC2 (per person) there's 15.000$ for CS(per team) even you could see 160.000$ tournaments 2-3 years ago. But now? But it's certain there's CS2, and i hope it will make CS better.
