ESC, eSahara, NEXT & IGG move on
The rest of WCG 2011's first round playoff matchups have been completed with the favorites moving on in the tournament as we enter the quarter finals.
ESC Gaming started as counter-terrorists in their match against Portuguese defs on de_dust2 and played their signature aggressive half pushing especially the B tunnels a lot, not giving defs a chance. They finished off the half 13-2 and although Portugal's hope won their second half pistol, Jarosław "pasha" Jarząbkowski's one versus four situation sealed a 16-4 opening map victory for the Poles.
Second map was de_nuke where Filip "neo" Kubski continued being an absolute monster as he opened up their terrorist pistol round with four USP kills and led the team to a 11-4 first half with 23 kills in total. Defs managed a respectable second half, scoring six rounds before falling short to lose 10-16 overall.

In the second half the Kazakhs had a promising 4-0 lead but fell behind 6-9 at half before mounting a comeback for a 10-3 second half, 16-12 in total.
Last map was de_nuke where Kystaubayek's team had a monster terrorist half, scoring 13 rounds to combine with their three rounds as counter-terrorists for a 2-1 win overall.

FiRENATION from Azerbaijan surprised many in their match against Romanian IGG by winning the opening map, de_nuke, 16-11. Second map was de_inferno and IGG scored nine rounds on their terrorist half which was enough for a close 16-14 win.
The series was decided on de_train where FiRENATION started as counter-terrorists, winning the pistol round and scoring 10 rounds in the first half. Unfortunately that wasn't enough, as IGG mustered an eleven round comeback for a 16-11 win, 2-1 overall.
