SK take down M5, move to grand final

SK Gaming faced Moscow Five at World Cyber Games 2011 and continued their top form with a convincing 2-0 victory over the Russians in the semi-finals.

The match opened up on de_nuke which was the Swedes' pick. Moscow Five chose to start as counter-terrorists and got a very strong start, going up 8-1 before things started falling apart. They went on to lose five straight rounds before three quick FAMAS headshots by Alexander "xek" Zobkov gave M5 one more round, 9-6.

Second half started off with SK winning the pistol round and quickly putting multiple rounds together, but M5 started trading rounds about half way in and the game was tied at both 13-13 and 14-14 before big plays by Marcus "Delpan" Larsson secured the Swedes a 16-14 win on de_nuke.

Next up was de_inferno where SK won the pistol after a failed one on five attempt by Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov and jumped up to a 6-2 lead. M5 came up with four straight rounds before losing round thirteen, but finished the half with two important rounds for a 8-7 lead before the final half.

Zobkov won an important one versus two clutch round in their second half pistol round, but an early second round buy from SK Gaming evened up the score and the following ecos put them up 10-9. The Swedes continued winning rounds going up 13-9 before three AWP kills by Eduard "ED1K" Ivanov gave M5 a round.

SK never looked back from there on and won three rounds in a row with Johan "face" Klasson getting the final two headshots to secure a 16-10 win and a grand final spot at World Cyber Games 2011 for SK Gaming.

The grand final will take place at 03:00 tomorrow with SK Gaming taking on ESC Gaming for a chance at the WCG gold medals and a big check for $25,000. Third place decider between Moscow Five and NEXT will be played simultaneously, with the winner going home with bronze medals and $3,000.

Nicee, ESC Gaming vs SK Gaming final (as we all expected :D). Ohhh shit, 4:00 am :(

We lived to. Earlier matches it was just a formality, it was known in advance that both teams will play each other in the finals. Now, opposite each other are the two best teams in the world. And what to think no one doubts. Each team in this "season" had its ups and downs. Now, however, it is not important. What matters is only what is now, only this match, the earlier games do not matter. One thing is certain, we will see a great spectacle. I think that we can determine this game called Gran Derbi. Maps will play a big role, because each party has its better and worse. I hope you win the Poles. Everything turns out, however, a few hours. Good luck ESC and SK, let it be a beautiful match !

hopefully a 3rd place will please the M5 org enough, i honestly think after winning MSi Russia (i know they had forge, but still) its strange they are riding them so hard still, but this should please them.

Well theres no shame in losing to sk when they are in the form theyre in. Especially with 1 very close game.

how on earth is that a excuse? Porto in their way to the CL win in 2004, beat man.u, O.Lyon, D.Coruña while Monaco had to eliminate R.Madrid, Chelsea etc, and yet i didnt see none of them saying:" oh well, porto had easier opponents than us!" that makes no sense whatsoever...

Tbh im just wondering what the polish fanboys will have to say if they lose, considering they had the easiest road to wcg finals in the history of the tournament. N if sk continues playing like they had yesterday, theres no chance for esc.
