Update to de_forge released
A new updated version of de_forge has been released by ESEA in cooperation with partners such as the Electronic Sports League and World Cyber Games.
The map was originally created by Colin "Brute" Volrath in the Spring of 2006 for an American online league CEVO. It has previously been updated two times, this being the fourth version of the map.
Although never popular outside of CEVO, de_forge saw playtime at various smaller events such as the quarterly ASUS Open tournaments until G7 had it added along with de_mirage to the regular map pool earlier this year.
International events such as e-Stars and MSI Beat It Russia as well as online qualifications for ESL have been using an outdated version of the map where the terrorists have a significant advantage in timing over counter-terrorists.
Here is the list of changes:
- Fixed the tree bug in CT spawn (removed invisible wall)
- Updated lower B and opened up the entrance a little more to allow easier nades to be thrown
- Removed all of the "blocking" door jams in lower B and back halls into B
- Increased spammable areas all over the map, mostly in upper B and lower B
- Increased the bomb explosion radius by ~15%
- Updated personal banner advertisement
- Added some "aesthetic" additions to improve the map
The updated version will be used in IEM6 Global Challenge Kiev final qualifier this Sunday so teams will have their work cut out for them to adjust in time. You can download the map here.
