M5 to Kingston Trilogy Tour
Moscow Five has now officially qualified for the Kingston Trilogy Tour which will take place on February 3-5 in Istanbul, Turkey.
We reported earlier that Moscow Five qualified for the event after winning ASUS Final Battle of the Year which was announced to be the Russian qualifier for the event. However, there were rumours about the online qualifier actually deciding the team that was going to be sent to Istanbul.
Now Sinan "DreDD" Yamuc, the owner of E-Cups will put all the rumours to rest as he clears up the situation with the following statement:
"Initially our plan was to hold an online qualifier to determine the Russian representative. However, Kingston's Russia office made a crucial mistake without informing us or getting our permission. It was announced in Russia that ASUS Cup would be the official qualifier for Kingston Trilogy Tour, which lead to Russian top teams not participating in the online qualifier. To fix the issue, ASUS Cup will serve as the qualifier for the event but the teams from the online qualifier will also receive the hardware prizes from Kingston."
This means Moscow Five will travel to the event offering $5,000 in prizes in just over a month along with Natus Vincere who won the Ukrainian qualifier over KerchNET earlier today. Third and final team will be decided in the Turkish qualifier, to be played online on January 6-8.
