craft1k retires - Report

According to Place2Play.ru, Ukrainian ace Taras "craft1k" Voitenko has decided to end his career with professional gaming.

It has been a rather bumpy 2011 for the Ukrainian team DTS, who finished the year with a disappointing 7-8. place finish at ASUS Final Battle of the Year in Kiev.

A report posted by Place2Play.ru suggests that Taras "craft1k" Voitenko will not continue with the team in 2012, leaving the team and quitting professional gaming at the same time. Contacted by HLTV.org, Voitenko did not wish to comment on the matter.

craft1k close to retirement?

With Voitenko reported to quit, DTS will be left with:

Kiril "ANGE1" Karasiow
Alexey "xaoc" Kucherov
Emil "Kucher" Akhundov
Egor "pops" Zinoviev

Should the rumors end up being true, then DTS will be looking for a new fifth, able to play with them at the first event of 2012, the IEM6 Global Challenge Kiev later this month. Rumors already suggest that Dmitry "hooch" Bogdanov from Virtus.pro is a hot candidate to take Voitenko's spot.

The prize purses on EVERY TOURNAMENT has decreased. The sponsor are backing up, the new game is realised, you think that they would all do that if the game wasn't dying? Think about it, and don't write stupid shit. P.S: Take a example of France, and you'll be clear about everything. Before you had 2-3, even 4 teams from a same country that were a top team, today you have 1, eventually 2, with MIXED PLAYERS!

Top3 UKR Aimer imo. Probably EVER, because this guy has been around for so much time and allways has been one of the craziest madfraggers in the country. It's definitely a hard loss to the UKR scene and obviously DTS - I hope they get bondik or z1, those 2 are insane too.

Yes, cs is dying, but not because of some players exit from it. Monay makes revives, and where is no money, no chances. I suppose CS is one of the hardest game - game is not the best wold, even more art - . It's very complex, pure timing, pure tactics, pure aim, experience and team play what're need to reach success. And because of this complexity, if you even a talent, you need years to reach a level where are the top players. But without motivation, prizes, popularity, glory and so on, there won't be players who will spend years from life in order to reach a high level. Above a level you need to reach the 100% of concentration and no matter what you say, if you reach this you cannot do this as a game, as a hobby, because it's straining you seriously and without motivation, you won't take it, no matter, how much do like to play with it a long time ago. That's all how I see.
