ESC & eSahara to IEM6 WC

ESC Gaming and Electronic Sahara are now qualified for the IEM6 World Championship with the replacement cup concluding as both sides defeated Hardware4u.

The three-team tournament started with Electronic Sahara taking on Hardware4u, a match the Frenchmen went on to win 2-0, 16-10 on de_inferno and 16-10 on de_nuke. Hardware4u was then put up against ESC Gaming, which resulted in another loss for the German squad, losing two maps in a row, seeing ESC Gaming win 16-8 on de_nuke and 16-2 on de_dust2.

The match between ESC Gaming and Electronic Sahara served no purpose, as both sides had won against Hardware4u. The match was therefore canceled. With the conclusion of the last match, Joe Miller did a draw to determine what group the two teams would end up in.

Out first of Miller's beanie was ESC Gaming, putting them in Group A, meaning Electronic Sahara go in Group B.

The groups for the IEM6 World Championship therefore look as follows:

Group A Group B
Sweden SK Gaming Finland WinFakt
Ukraine Natus Vincere Sweden fnatic
Germany mousesports Russia Moscow Five
Denmark Anexis Sweden Lions
China TyLoo Brazil semXorah
Poland ESC Gaming France Electronic Sahara

A stacked Group A is in store for us in less than a month, seeing last year's finalists in it, as well as the "new" SK Gaming, Danish-German mousesports, the Danes from Anexis and TyLoo from China. Group B is not as stacked, but surely includes a list of strong names, including Moscow Five, fnatic, Lions, as well as the WinFakt, Electronic Sahara and semXorah as the only team from the Americas.

The IEM6 World Championship will be held at CeBIT in Hannover on 6-10 March, a tournament you obviously will be able to follow up close right here on HLTV.org.

any1 is > winfakt now, don't lie to yourself. it is really sad but new winfakt is not as strong as old winfakt. 1-3. SK/Na`Vi/ESC 4. M5 5. fnatic 6. mouz 7. Lions Group A: 1, 2, 3, 6 and TyLoo might surprise Group B: 4, 5, 7

didn't wf just beat mouz 2 times in a row, or was it with the old lineup? no it must have been with the new edit: hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=9350&eventi.. hltv.org/?pageid=188&matchid=9333&eventi.. the other match was with the new lineup

you might be right, but something tells me that mouz will be able to do a lot more damage to the current top 5 than winfakt. I'll be only glad if they prove me wrong during IEM WC.

I hope all top4 teams on paper (ESC, SK, Na`Vi, fnatic) will pass their group and advance to semi-finals. For example: Group A 1. SK Gaming 2. ESC Gaming 3. Natus Vincere Group B 1. fnatic 2. Moscow Five 3. Lions Quarter-finals ESC Gaming > Lions Natus Vincere > Moscow Five Semi-finals SK Gaming vs ESC Gaming/Natus Vincere fnatic vs ESC Gaming/Natus Vincere

Out of both groups I think only fnatic not going through can be considered as a surprise! Group A is so strong and random...depending on the map choice tyloo may cause some trouble, anexis are not to be underestimated as well! Considering the latest changes I'd put my money on SK topping the group with 5 wins, and mouz, navi and esc battling out for the last 2 spots! Group B has clear outsiders in the name of sX! fnatic should be able to top their group, followed by M5 and WF/LIONS...eSahara can cause some trouble but I don't see them advancing to the playoffs

Here's the thing that makes life so interesting: The Theory of Evolution claims that "only the strong shall survive." Maybe so, maybe so. But the Theory of Competition says "just because they're the strong doesn't mean they can't get their asses kicked." That's right. See, what every long-shot, come-from-behind underdog will tell you is this: The other guy may in fact be the favorite; the odds may be stacked against you. Fair enough ... But what the odds don't know is this isn't a math test. This is a completely different kind of test. One where passion has a funny way of trumping logic. So before you step up to the starting line, before the whistle blows and the clock starts ticking, just remember: out here, the results don't always add up. No matter what the stats may say and the experts may think and the commentators may have predicted, when the race is on, all bets are off. Don't be surprised if someone decides to flip the script and take a pass on yelling "uncle". And then suddenly, as the old saying goes, "We got ourselves a game."

I wouldn't be so sure that top3 teams will actually pass group-stage since this is BO1 and I believe that Tyloo and mouz can make difference. However, I believe that ESC will top this group followed firstly by SK and then Natus Vincere. Second group is easier to predict, albeit we can't be sure, I believe fnatic will finish as 1st, 2nd as M5 and LIONS as 3rd. If my predictions become truth we'll have quarter-finals between SK and LIONS, and on the other side M5 will face Natus Vincere. After that we'll have Natus Vincere, SK, ESC and fnatic in semi-finals and I won't try to predict this since I'm not quite sure who will face who, and I can see every team going all the way.

still annoyed about the groups a little, but honestly, its so good that ESC got a chance to go. this even is epic. minus sX and TyLoo the remaining teams are probably the 10 best teams in the world atm. quite a few teams could go instead of sX, but Tyloo is fairly interesting, hopefully they play decently, although their last few showings have been pretty crap tbh, if they play like that then a few teams could have gone instead, but atm im happy. can't complain overall!

former mandic lineup don't have money enough to make it to Hannover they need to find an orga but even if they find an new orga, they wouldn't attend IEM6 WC because this is sX's spot

?!?!?! lol M5 won 5 out of the 7 last games against fnatic. They won 2 out of 2 important bo3 games and fnatic just added a new player which will only make them worse (the last time fnatic removed pita they lost 16-5 to M5). I really don't see how fnatic suddenly is better now, in my opinion the gap is even bigger than before.

Now fnatic with MODDII stronger fnatik with pita. 1 month before the world finals to play them well enough. so I would not say that the M5 > fnatic & they top Group B

how can you say they are stronger LOL they didn't play a single match, everyone said they were stronger when they added manne instead of pita and still they lost 16-5 to M5. M5 got much better the past months so to be honest fnatic will not stand a chance, they can win 9 rounds max.

This will probably be the last time we see all the top 1.6 teams at a big event at the same time, should be a great tournament.

Didn't semXorah got raped by WinFakt in the last time? I think they should send some better Brazilian team to this tournament. Sending a low team is a total waste of time/money.

On the paper, group A looks stronger than group B but according to the last results, we could clearly show these groups as equal : Winfakt > mousesports Moscow five > Na'Vi fnatic = SK e-sahara = Anexis Lions < ESC semXorah < Tyloo Both groups are incredible imo
