Na`Vi march on to another IEM final

After a back and forth semi final that saw both sides get easy wins on their opponent's map picks, Natus Vincere has qualified for their third consecutive IEM6 WC grand final.

On de_dust2 Lions started off well by winning the knife round, their Terrorist pistol round and the following two save rounds by the Ukrainian side. At that point they ran into a Ukrainian brick wall though, as Na`Vi put up six straight rounds without giving the Swedes a chance.

Although Lions scored the next round, it wasn't enough as Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko's heroics in the B tunnels got the momentum back on Na`Vi's side and they ended the half with a 10-5 lead.

In the second half Natus Vincere went for a similar catwalk rush that Lions executed in the first half, and went up 3-0. Yegor "markeloff" Markelov missed two easy shots on Frej "kHRYSTAL" Sjöström on the first gun round, but made up for it with three kills in a two-on-three situation the round after.

Last round was sealed by Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev and Teslenko who shattered Lions' hopes of a possible comeback by winning a two-on-four situation to close out the first map with a 16-6 win.

Lions winning the last round of first half

After a quick break for map change, Sergey "starix" Ischuk started off de_tuscan by scoring three USP frags in a three-on-three after plant situation in the A bombsite. Much like on de_dust2 for Lions, that was just about all there was for Na`Vi who went on to lose the half 4-11.

Second half saw Natus Vincere win the pistol round as well, but Jim "zneel" Andersson's desert eagle headshots shifted the tides to Lions' favor once again as they went on to win two rounds.

The Ukrainian side tried to mount a comeback but despite of scoring two more rounds, Lions simply proved to be too strong to Alexander "ZeroGravity" Kokhanovskiy's team who went on to lose 7-16.

Natus Vincere found their way in the third map

The stage was set for the third and final map, de_inferno. Natus Vincere woke up just in time, and despite Lions getting to pick the T-side, they couldn't find ways to penetrate the Ukrainians' defense. The half ended 12-3 in Na`Vi's favor and they followed it up by winning the second pistol, which put an end to the match at 16-3.

After cArn's retirement Lions is going to be my favourite team for sure. They are SO CLEVER and play a strategy based game. Sad they dropped out but Na'Vi seems to be unstoppeable atm. I hope for an ESC vs NaVi final. :)))

Zeus and starix are just sick!! They aren't even the stars in the team and they are still playing the best CS I've seen them play, EVER!! Starix is probably the best IGL when it comes to fragging etc. If they win this tournament I can for sure admit that Na`Vi are legends of the sport, screw that, they are already legends, Edward, markeloff, Zeus and starix are craaaazzzyy!!

Before 2012 I would have to say and I did say that ed1k was probably the best IGL when it comes to madfragging but after seeing Na`Vi this year and starix, wooo, IMO we got a new champ in that role, absolutely insane and I really admire his playing style.

Kudos to Lions obviously for their 3/4 placing but someone should have noticed by then that they are the best team in the world on de_tuscan and de_dust2 as CT and start vetoing these maps against them unless you're bound to get owned really hard. They're far less impressive on the other maps to be honest (and I'm taking nothing from them, it's already fantastic to be potentially the best team in the world on two maps).
