CPH Games reveals prize distribution

Copenhagen Games has announced how the 20,000€ prize purse will be distributed for the 2012 edition of the event.

Last month the organizers behind Copenhagen Games announced that the tournament would feature a 20,000€ prize purse, just like last year's Xperia PLAY tournament.

The prize distribution has now been announced, with the winning team going to walk away with nearly half of the purse.

Copenhagen Games 2012 prize distribution:

1. 9,400€
2. 4,700€
3. 2,600€
4. 1,300€
5-6. 570€
5-6. 570€
7-8. 430€
7-8. 430€

The Danish event will take place at Øksnehallen in Copenhagen, running April 4-8. HLTV.org will be on site in the Danish capital to provide you with full coverage of the event.

Well people travel to these tournaments, at least they get money to pay back expense. People are losing too much money as it is when top teams are the only ones making money.

The top teams put more effort in and train harder, and should be rewarded better for doing so.

Eh? Ofcourse I have, that's what this entire news post is about? And infact what my previous post was entirely related to. Give the 5-8th peoples money to the 1st/2nd/3rd teams. You've confused me, i'm not sure if you are retarded, or just a little bit slow. Good Night sire.

In fact at the time I just woke up, your statement was pretty unnecessary and offensive when involved in a healthy discussion rather than a troll battle. Second, the way you posted gave the impression you were supporting the person I was originally replying to. He said that lower teams don't deserve to get ANY MONEY at all. I simply replied saying that they get significantly lower but at least they pay out their expenses, your post implied that since they put more effort and train harder that gives the reason why they should get ALL of the money. Third, I claimed that a little money is better than no money at all and it's not like they get that much to begin with. That is my opinion and I am entitled to it. Whatever your intention was supporting what I said or not was not clear, that is what your post implied. Now please refrain from speaking ill when I did not do so in return.

'"Should be rewarded better for doing so", have you seen the prize distribution?' So this comment wasn't in any manner made to make it look as if I was stupid and hadn't looked at or understood the prize distribution? And my statement clearly voiced my opinion that the teams that have trained harder, and thus placed better in this tournament, are the ones who have earned the cash, and if there is spare cash floating around to be given to the 5-8th placing teams, then it should instead be given to the top placing teams on top of what they already earned, as however nice 10'000 is compared to 500, it's hardly retirement funding. I know it seems tight to not give anything to the other teams, and in a perfect world, everyone would get something for turning up and giving it 100%, but this is the real world, and this is competitive e-sports. However much I would love to discuss this further, I'd rather not, as it is a very opinion based subject. I think the winners deserve all the credit, you believe the losers deserve there share too, and there is nothing wrong with that, just like I said, it's opinion based. /RANT

Good prizes. But I feel that prize should have been only kept for top 3 places. So that prize would be more for top finishers.
