M5 use xek for IGC; Fox unable to go

Moscow Five will be travelling to India with Alexander "xek" Zobkov instead of Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov, who had his visa denied due to a damaged passport.

The Russian team made an April fool's day joke about Alexander "xek" Zobkov returning to Moscow Five, where he'd replace Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov, but today announced that there was in fact a little more to it than just a prank.

Fox's furry friend stops him from travelling to India

Stolyarov had together with the rest of the Moscow Five team applied for visa to enter India in order to attend India Gaming Carnival. While his teammates had their passports returned with a valid visa for India in them, Stolyarovs visa application was denied. Those following the scene the past years know it's hardly the first time a Russian player ends up with a rejected visa application.

However, the reason is a first. Stolyarov's application was denied due to a damaged passport, which was due to his cat having urinated on it last year. With the short time span before departure, the team called up Zobkov to act as stand-in for the event.

Moscow Five will therefore attend IGC with the following lineup:

Eduard "ed1k" Ivanov
Roman "ROMJkE" Makarov
Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov
Roman "hacker" Abramov
Alexander "xek" Zobkov

The Russians will go in as heavy favorites to win the Indian event, which will run April 6-8 at the Ayatti-Caparo International Center in the Noida area outside of New Delhi.

Despite a lot of speculations and reports about the legitimacy of the Indian event in the past days, Moscow Five have not cancelled their trip and will travel India.

who cares, really, its just m5 attending that event. I wouldn't believe a thing about what is said in Cadred about 1.6 they hate the game and want it dead, they don't even lie about it.

cadred supports 1.6 in all fairness (interviews, coverage, videos at most major 1.6 events) I don't think hltv.org and cadred get on well tho no idea why - and that article has nothing to do with cadred, and i was just quoting as i read it from there - it was TheGameMinistry who are affiliates with IGC so it has nothing to do with cadred at all just where I read the linking article, apparently people who are in India went and there is no gaming tournament or something something being said about a pr stunt or something I have no idea, just thought HLTV might be able to comfirm or deny some alligations - I think it's a good move 100% m5 are attending (the only big eu team unfortuntely) but I hope for their sakes it isn't a big hoax or something would be nice to have some clarity posted as I'm guessing HLTV.org staff may have contacts with some of the organisers?

supports 1.6? they just post when something bad happens to the community. The editor-in-chief of cadred has said many times that he wants 1.6 to be dead so people can play source or whatever shit valve releases, like CS:GO. he's an ignorant about CS but keeps releasing biased articles about it.

I contacted the organizers when the report popped yesterday, where they informed me there would be info to follow from their side. Didn't want to jump the gun and post a report on thegameministry report, as I feel there have already been too much controversial happenings with the event, touching back on when a (what I've been told) a former employee raged at us about the bank guarantee, which the public couldn't see anyway. The report could be, as declared by the IGC crew, a stunt to put them in bad light, or in fact be true. I'll hold my horses with more info about this event, till we got some more credible evidence. And let me just point out, I hope it happens, but I can't stop to have doubts too, after all this..

Trust? More likely he is having good sense by not saying anything officially until he has more credible evidence as he himself has stated. And it is IGC who have to prove themselves and not the teams as the latter already have enough issues with tournaments that actually take place and I doubt they want more with an additional controversial one. .
