fnatic advance to FCL grand final

First semi-final of fnatic PLAY league 2012 took place today as we saw fnatic take down eSrael 2-1 in a close series (16-7 de_inferno, 11-16 de_train, 16-11 de_nuke) to advance to the grand final.

The series kicked off on de_inferno which was the Danes' pick. Timm "ArcadioN" Henriksen's team started strong and went up 6-1 as terrorists before fnatic could string together rounds. That turned momentum around though as fnatic led 8-7 at half.

Andreas "moddii" Fridh won a one-on-three after plant in his terrorist pistol round. Although eSrael had two-on-two and two-on-one situations that favored them in the half, they had no response to Richard "Xizt" Landström's team who won eight straight rounds.

trace proved to be in great shape once again

Next up was fnatic's map of choice de_train where eSrael easily won the counter-terrorist pistol round and locked down the map with Martin "trace" Heldt leading the way with his AWP as the Danes won the first seven rounds. After losing four, the teams traded the remaining four and switched sides at 9-6.

fnatic won the second pistol round again with Fridh scoring another three frags and went up 3-0. eSrael switched to a higher gear then with Heldt one again leading the way with multiple multikill rounds as the Danes evened it out with a 16-11 win on de_train.

moddii secured two pistol round wins for fnatic

Both teams were tied up at one map win each as it all came down to de_nuke. After fnatic lost a ramp room push to eSrael's stack, Heldt's triple kill secured them the coming two rounds for a 3-0 lead. Two rounds later fnatic scored their first round and then traded a few more with Fridh scoring four headshots on round nine. eSrael couldn't recover anymore during the half and fell behind 7-8 after losing two rounds where they killed all of fnatic but couldn't defuse the bomb on time.

With everything on the line in the final half of the match, eSrael won the pistol round with Morten "coloN" Johansen scoring two frags. At 8-10, Finn "karrigan" Andersen got four kills to open the half for fnatic who go on to win five straight rounds before eSrael reply, 11-13. The Danes can't unlock fnatic's defense, lose three more in a row and have to surrender 11-16.

a team can be a whole new team with only 1 player change, so when there's 4 or 3 there's absolutely nothing to compare. And btw all these achievements you talked about... Did you even see who they lost against ? 4 out of 20 are against SK 3 out of 20 are against the poles 5 out of 20 are against fnatic 6 out of 20 are against Navi this brings us to 18 close losses out of 20 to 3 of the best teams in history. Ahaha and what is it for you? I've just listed almost all events they attended since KODE5 2009(excluding DH Summer 2010 and EPS Nordic 2010),you can also add SEC 2010 where they lost a final against SK and DH Winter 2010 - where they lost a final against Navi. So 22 of 24 events they failed(mostly in the final) to win being one of the favorites. Seems legit.

I think he is right in some ways they always play great in the whole tournament and in the end they fail. 2nd place = Reserved for mTw.

Because cheering for danes is a total frustration for a 3 years now. They can't fucking win: EPS Scandinavia(beginning of 2009)-> DH Summer(2010)->EPS Nordic(the end of 2010). Pretty failure if you visit N events and you are favourite in almost every of them. I'm not mentioning how fucking disappointed I was when they couldn't beat Navi since this cursed game in the beginning of 2010 when they were leading 12-3 on train and won a pistol round,still lost.

I dont think you can expect the same from this team as you could of mTw, this team is weaker, so the performance was okay imo. They dont get salary afaik, they are probably all studying/working and can't put the same amount of practise in it, since it's not their "job" anymore, as it was earlier :) - but back in the mTw days, they should have won more than they did after 2008 for sure, no doubt about it :)

In my opinion eSrael can be a great team given time, they have too little experience. You can tell by how fnatic's players clutched them so easily so many times. Trace on the other hand was very smart and defensive, he didn't get picked off so easily like the other players.

trace was shining as he always does.. He was the best in mTw and he was the best in SK aswell there is no doubt about that... BUT there was never so huge gap between him and his teams mates in mTw and SK. This gap that is between him and his teammates... is just so HUGE... Most ppl say he CAN BE a great player if he continues to play at this level, with teammates like ArcadioN and trace who have a good experience from LANs etc. That doesn't mean he's overrated and that doesn't mean he's awful too. Plus, he has like 15 y/o or 16 I think, give him 1 year and he'll be very skilled.
