100% defeat UMX 4-0 in ESEA finals

Maximum Effort has won the ESEA Invite Season 11 finals and $10,000 with four straight map wins in two best-of-three series over UMX after coming from the lower bracket (16-9 de_nuke, 16-5 de_train, 16-13 de_forge, 19-15 de_inferno).

First map was de_nuke where Paul "pauLy" Guerboyan scored three USP frags to win the opening pistol round. Maximum Effort went down 0-3, but rebounded by scoring seven of the next nine rounds. However, Christian "sobo" Soboleske's strong play at the end of the half closed the gap to just one round, 8-7.

Second pistol round went to 100% who instantly started pulling away from UMX as they went on a five round winning streak to make the score 13-7 in their favor. Nazar "steno" Vynnytsky's troops fought back by winning the next two rounds, but 100% secured the win with the following three rounds for a a 16-9 score on de_nuke.

Even a map change couldn't slow down Maximum Effort's flow, as strong play across the board as counter-terrorists on de_train helped them gain an early lead. UMX managed to win two rounds, but 100% went up 12-2 before Guerboyan's smart play in a two-on-three situation gave them one more round in the first half.

UMX won the second half pistol round with Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert saving his USP armor, but Sean "sgares" Gares' three AK frags in the third round made the score 13-5. Soboleske's crew attempted a force buy in the fourth round without success, and were forced to save after which gave 100% game point for the first series at 15-5. Gilbert & company wasted no time, winning de_train 16-5 and the first series 2-0.

Broken tag

After a break the second series commenced on de_forge where Maximum Effort scored the first three rounds, already improving on their showing from the previous night. 100% went up 7-4 before Christian "sobo" Soboleske's UMX, helped by his 20 frag effort, scored the remaining four rounds for a 7-8 half.

Second pistol round went to UMX as leader Nazar "steno" Vynnytsky and Paul "pauLy" Guerboyan combined for five USP kills. 100% won round four, but UMX broke their money in the following round to go up 5-1, 13-8 overall. Maximum Effort mounted a comeback, scoring eight rounds in a row to win 16-13 with Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert leading the way with 14 frags.

UMX won another pistol as terrorists on de_inferno, as well as 100%'s two consecutive save rounds. Then it was Maximum Effort's turn to show strong play, winning seven of the next eight rounds to make it 7-4. UMX's B fake won them round twelve, but 100% won two of the three remaining rounds for a 9-6 lead.

Maximum Effort won their terrorist pistol round and went up 3-0 after two anti eco rounds. They attacked the A bomb site in the fourth round, winning easily while Soboleske fell behind the moto box, forcing UMX to save once again. At a 14-6 deficit, UMX mounted a comeback, bringing it back to 14-12 before 100% hit tournament point. That wasn't enough though, as UMX tied the game and forced an overtime.

Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert's team switched to a higher gear once the overtime commenced as they were finally able to defend sites after getting the bomb planted. They secured three rounds as terrorists without much trouble, and then secured the 19-15 win as counter-terrorists as Kory "semphis" Friesen took the last frag to secure their ESEA championship and $10,000 first place prize.

Swag's Round 4 stats: 50 Frags, 12 Deaths, 9 2ks, 5 3ks, 1 4k, 1 5k, 1 1 v 2, 127.3 ADR(!!!), 1.389 FPR(!!!), 22.91 RWS(which is round win shares, it's based on damage you contributed to any rounds you won, 23 is absurd, on a good team you should be around 12 or higher).

15 year old who's had better stats than n0thing for a few seasons of esea (disclaimer for all the kids who will read that wrong: i'm not saying he's better than n0thing as an all around cs player. i'm just pointing out the stats to show what level he's at)

cs 1.6 is dead in america when cs go will come out the whole american cs scene will go to cs go just like they did with source and in the american scene cs go will fail just like when cgs got bankrupt its easy to say that american just died with csgo when they returned to cs 1.6 it was to late for the american cs scene because cs 1.6 in europe and asia got better while the american scene stayed in 2005

part of problem is (1) few teams at upper n.a. caliber meaning they don't get to practice against teams that would give them a challenge so as to improve their game, and (2) n.a. cs revolves around esea league, and as soon as the season was over, teams stopped practicing, so the teams couldn't get a lot of practice before these lan finals. #1 also means they can't practice a lot of strats they want to use because they're practicing against the teams they'll be playing on #2, n0thing in an interview mentioned there were no bootcamps or anything before lan, just a bit of scrimming to stay in shape. that means they went into lan not very polished, or not as polished as can be at least overall i 100% agree with you they were too low for EU, but i don't think it shows they couldn't compete if...if they got a sponsor to buy them a house in sweden or something like that :p so they could polish their game with practice against good teams. of course that won't happen, so maybe it's pointless to bring up

ele1nt went hard putting up a quiet +25? Lol I was expecting more from semphis. UMX KIKO had a good event. I've never understood flowsick. He is good for situational mid round stuff on terrorist side. But other times just seems to get caught and dies too often.

back in the days sponsors would rent a house for bootcamp in europe , like mibr went to bootcamp in sweden and even played vs sk at inferno online showcase , when kiko was playing .. i think even complexity got a chance to bootcamp 2 weeks in europe before a big tournament good tournament but maximum e would take 10 rounds vs a top european team , nothing only one who has the most international lan experience

hopefully this line up will see some european play this year... before it's too late. what really surprised me is n0thing's name was vacant under all of the clutch round stats... i haven't watched any matches, but i'm assuming he's toned down the aggression n possibly igl? anyone know? either that or he just passed the torch to swag, along w/ all his knowledge, human wall hacks, n what not...

sgares is igl i suppose part of the reason for n0thing falling down the stats is him, semphis, and swag are the three best riflers in n.a. currently, and they've got to share the frags :D. When you consider a team like EG with n0thing,frod,storm,lurp,gfn, n0thing was the clear star rifler, but with 100%, semphis and swag have both been statistically the best fraggers during the past few seasons. plus with the number of clutches swag and ele1nt have...only one person can be lms :p

yeah it's called esea well that and pubs paid for and run by south americans (often venezuelans) who for some reason use a host in the mid-u.s.
