fnatic over ESC to GameGune final

GameGune 2012's upper bracket final saw two of the world's top three teams battle it out with fnatic coming out on top 2-1 (14-16 de_nuke, 16-8 de_train, 7-16 de_dust2) to knock ESC Gaming down to the lower bracket.

ESC Gaming opened up the series with a pistol round win thanks to Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas' two USP kills in a two-on-two situation. The Poles had a scare on round three as fnatic went up in a three-on-two, but couldn't close the round.

After gaining money, fnatic went on an impressive run of seven straight rounds which weren't even very close. ESC replid by winning three rounds in a row to make it 7-6, but fnatic managed to end the half with two round wins to change sides with a 9-6 lead.

Jakub "kuben" Gurczynski scored three USP headshots in the pistol round to tighten the gap to 9-8 before Martin "trace" Heldt killed four of his opponents in a one-on-five situation before falling to Gurczynski. ESC went up 6-0 to bring the score to 12-9, but fnatic wasn't done yet.

TaZ yelling at fnatic after winning de_nuke

The Danish-Swedish team mounted a comeback and brought the game all the way to 14-14, but the Poles' risky force buy with two Desert Eagles gave them a map point, which they used to get a win on their map choice de_nuke with a score of 16-14.

fnatic started their map choice de_train by winning the knife round, but ESC's pistol round split to the outer bombsite with bomb going inner gave them a flawless round win. ESC won round two, but Andreas "moddii" Fridh's three AK47 kills put fnatic on the scoreboard.

Due to winning a save round both Finn "karrigan" Andersen and Michael "Friis" Jorgensen were instantly able to afford AWPs and with Fridh and Richard "Xizt" Landström putting up 21 kills each, fnatic went onto win twelve straight rounds before ESC won the last round to make it 3-12.

Lanström's team continued devastating ESC in the second half by winning the pistol and their save round to stretch their lead to 14-3. ESC won five rounds in a row to give themselves some hope, but fnatic closed out the map with a 16-8 score to stretch the series to a third map.

Xizt and trace after making the grand finals at GameGune

Fridh helped fnatic start de_dust2 off on the right foot with three USP kills on the pistol round. fnatic continued strong play from de_train and won six straight rounds before the Poles could reply with a round of their own.

ESC won round seven, but fnatic replied with four more rounds of their own to make it 10-1. The Polish side won their second round of the half in round twelve, but fnatic went on to win three more rounds after that to push their lead to 13-2.

fnatic scored the first frags of the second pistol round, but a precise grenade by Mariusz "Loord" Cybulski helped the Polish side claim the round win. After going up 4-0, Fridh pushed the lower B tunnels and secured fnatic a round with three Colt M4A1 headshots.

ESC Gaming won the next round to score their seventh round, but fnatic won round seven and in-game leader Landström's mixed Colt M4A1 and AK47 ace finally gave them their sixteenth round to win the series 2-1.

Sry for replying you - its so this can be read by lurppis :) Lurppis: The score should be (14-16 de_nuke, 16-8 de_train, 16-7 de_dust2) not 7-16 de_dust2 (in the top of the article) :)

Yeah, there was no better choice who can fill Gux place and trace is even better than gux skillwise imo. Fans and fnatic will see Trace was a realy good choice (dont care about this flag shit :D.) Same view here and I think we will see a rematch between esc and fnatic in final and my fingers crossed for the fnatic guys. They are just awesome on this tourney, about GameGune, Im fuckin impressed/suprised what Delta did/doing here:D amazing results!

yeah delta at 4, while I considered both russian teams and kerchnet as better opponents. ths & co beasting, while not even having aquired the services of young talents such as pistolero destru and insider. I think if these 3 guys were to mix in 2 teams with the best players from ESC and delta poland might have 2 teams performing international top4/5 (depending on what the ex SK players do)
