Female CS:GO tournament at ESWC

The Electronic Sports World Cup has announced that a female Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament is to take place during the 2012 event in Paris, France.

ESWC 2012 is taking place on November 1-4 at Paris Games Week, where CS:GO will be featured in a side tournament, for the males.

The females will also get to play, as ESWC today made a short announcement that the event will by ESWC tradition feature a tournament for the females.

The ladies will once again get to play at ESWC

Just like the tournament for the males, not much information is available at the moment. ESWC states that more info about how to play is to be released soon.

ye, its what im thinking too always when there is special women tournaments in disciplines where women dont have a physical disadvantage. i can understand that in football for example there is seperate tournaments, cos women obvious are not as strong physically as men. but in esports? there is no disadvantage. the only reason there is female tournaments is cos they play so bad that if they had to attend in male tourneys they would suck so bad they wouldnt even qualify. its a joke. industry wasting money on female noob tourneys and most of them dont even look hot. such a waste. :) female gaming could also be called noob gaming.

i think its a good idea, so we girls can compete with other players on our skill level. its much more fun than getting carried by 4 good men and sad but true, men are better in almost all kind of sports, esports aswell. its cause you put more effort in it since you are evolutionary the "hunters". i play cs for many years now and on female im like pro level, but its even hard to me to play vs mid skilled men. i mostly lose those games

there are lots of disadvantages, like reaction time, space perception, opponent reading, stress control that men have on higher level (this is confirmed by clinical trials, I don't want to insult anyone)

I suspect it's more to promote female gaming than anything else. Considering the standard tournaments do not limit participation to males, we see female pro gaming is non-existent. By having a tournament for females only, it brings in female participation that wouldn't otherwise be there.

We wouldve never heard of them if it werent for female tournaments. They all suck and dont deserve any attention. That ESWC use them for pr-purposes is just a disgrace. I guess they dont mind being used.

Female competition is and needs to be promoted, since we otherwise wouldn't have a chance to fight against each other on the battlefield, I believe that females need to realize that they need to strive to not be the best "female" gamer but best gamer, but the fact of the matter is, girls just aren't as good as males, we are constantly playing catch up... There just aren't enough females that have the edge to be able to be on the same level, for every thousand males there is 1 female that is good enough to play with the big boys. There is actually quite a lot of female gamers, but rather than focusing on a competitive title you are often (in 90%) deadly stuck on a trivial games like Sims, various Tycoons, [insert name]Villes or single player games of any kind which - of course - have no competitive potential whatsoever :)

girls like to play against other girls. at the top levels only a handful, if that, can compete. scientifically the only measurable difference is reaction time (girls avg a slower time). but that's easy to overcome w/ training.
