karrigan: "Not a big fan of CS:GO"

fnatic star Finn "Karrigan" Andersen has shared his view about Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, saying he is "not a big fan" of the game.

The Danish-based team will not switch to CS:GO just yet as they prepare for four different 1.6 LAN events in the upcoming weeks.

Andersen admitted that what he has seen of CS:GO does not thrill him, but insisted that he wants to try out the game on a competitive level before making any judgements.

"I have played a few gathers here and there, but for me, the game is completely different," he told Xplayn.com.

"I think that CS:GO is a mixture of Call of Duty and CS:S because you need to have a completely different approach to the game.

"I think that the history behind CS 1.6 made it more interesting in tournaments, because it was always exciting to see who would win the next title.

"I am not a big fan of CS:GO, but I will give the game a chance. I can speak more about it and its competitiveness once I have participated in tournaments and practice matches instead of just playing some gathers."

He then commented on the team's acquisition of Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson, who came to replace the now Ninjas in Pyjamas talent Richard "Xizt" Landström.

"FYRR73 was the player in WinFakt who developed the most in the last year," Andersen added.

"He has also previously acted as ingame leader, which will be his role on the team. He is also a nice guy and easy to get along with, so it will be exciting.

"It is also a little bit sad to think that these will be the last 1.6 tournaments, which will make the trips a bit more special, I suppose.

"I just hope we will be able to win those last tournaments and finish the year by playing CS:GO."

no it doesnt, the game is a mix with cs and cod just like karrigan says, i like it but not as much as i liked 1.6 1- The scope is retarted, to get a hit u acctualy have to stop, so ppl usualy press shift to walk slowly and then stop (CoD) 2- Bizon and P90 are just too strong, no recoil great damage (CoD) but mp7 is ok :) 3- Same thing with the shotguns... i killed 3 guys with aks with that shitty small shotgun (i dont remember the name) (CoD) 4- p2000 sux hard dunno why tey took usp away 5- molotov was a great idea, makes the game more tactical, but the decoy is just stupid (CoD) 6- you make a lot of noise so a 1on1 situation the T has the advantage no matter the skill :S 7- ak recoil is wierd , it just goes to the right, no left, m4 is fine, AUG too easy 8- deagle too easy too strong, in 1.6 it was just too strong not easy, acctualy one of the hardest weapon to control - now say another 8 good things about GO, if they took away what i just said by doing a realy big update then maybe karrigan would like the game, COD = noobs acctualy kill GO = noobs acctualy kill :S

You have to play it more than a day to like csgo. I'm talking this for days. People play 10 minutes, just dont love the game equally they do 1.6 that they played for YEARS, and conclue that the game is awful because he didn't enjoyed the same that playing cs 1.6 in that 10 minutes. Comparing both games is useless, its clearly that was not a goal of valve make the game similar with 1.6 version. Ive been playing GO version for a week and my conclusion is that csgo has potencial to be more competitive than cs1.6, its a technically and tactically better game with a lot more different moves that you can do during the match than cs1.6. Cs 1.6 was getting a "aim game" with no more new stuff, its was always the same programated movements and spots, anyways, it was getting boring. Sorry my bad english. I played cs 1.6 for 6 years

You can't define counter strike franchise gameplay , you can define the version counter-strike 1.6 gameplay . I can tell you some franchises that have suffered a lot of changes in their gameplays during the years: Resident Evil, Need for speed, Fifa, Madden, Battlefield, Final Fantasy, these are just the ones that i could remember now. Commenting about Valve, i played for 6 years and i don't remember any competition that valve sponsored. They have practically never supported the professional side of the game. They don't really seems to be concerned with this. They seems to be concerned with sales, and a new game version with better graphics brings better sales porcentages. They always had let the professional visibility of the game for another technologies companies, like nvidia, intel, thermaltake, AMD. These companies that really abandoned the game, you all should be mad with THESE companies, not valve.

well i didnt get to try the 1.09 , but in 1.08 the doubleduck isnt 100% like in 1,6 , you can't cut it short, you just do it and then it goes full doubleduck ..hard to explain and the recoil pattern still doesnt feel like 1.6 and eve if they did , it would be a 1.6 clone ..something that cannot , and will not have success compared to csgo wich is picked up by major tournaments already. i won't play csp ...since i can just play 1.6 instead ...what would be the point of it?

Think some people misunderstand my view. Thats why I add a comment now, since people can read all things from the interview that was written in danish. "Andersen admitted that what he has seen of CS:GO does not thrill him, but insisted that he wants to try out the game on a competitive level before making any judgements." If I played CS 1.6 only in gathers, the game would look different to me. I will be able make a jugdement 100%, when I have pracctised with my team for weeks and played a tournament. We had only time to play some gathers sometimes and from that point of view, I think its a different game, especially because of the movement ingame. So every player who switch to this game, will change up his style and get a new style, because the game is different. Im not saying different is bad and either saying its better, I can only judge it better when I have played it more.

It would be nice if hltv.org split 1.6 and cs:s comunity, source ppl are used to post comments like "1.6 dead", "change to go", and some other shit like that, ok... its their opinion but they are not fans of 1.6 they just want us to switch cuz their comunity is too small and also because this new game is gonna be easy for them. Its not our fault that the game sucks and is non competitive. 51,744 players :D not bad for the ,,dead,, game. Maybe the scene is dead but who cares. There will always be events or LAN parties on lower levels, online tournaments. As long as the game has players, will survive. If you are masochist and you like play CS GO i did not forbid you this. Cs 1.6 survived for 7 years because of the professional side of the game. It was one of the biggest motivations for us to continuing playing so long. The chance to travel for another country for free and represent your nation to compete for thousand dollars in premiations, that's what was so good in cs 1.6. There is no more it, and the tendency is that the players will slowly stop playing more and more until the actual strong community desappears.
