No Counter-Strike at WEM 2012
Regardless of earlier rumours of World E-Sports Masters 2012 including Counter-Strike 1.6, the event has announced StarCraft 2 and League of Legends as the only official titles.
World E-Sports Masters or WEM, formerly known as World E-Sports Games or WEG in the earlier seasons, has been supporting Counter-Strike 1.6 since its inaugural season in the beginning of 2005.
WEG started as a league lasting up to two months in Seoul, but as WEM was reduced to a week's length in China. Now due to a smaller amount of sponsor money, the event will be ran in three days and can only feature two game titles.

WEM 2010 was the last event to feature Counter-Strike for now
According to PCgames.cn, WEM organizers stated that due to many CS 1.6 teams retiring or switching to CS:GO, it would have been impossible to invite eight top teams for a season, which ultimately led to CS 1.6 not being included as a title.
