WCG Sweden - Who will grab the last two spots?
The four quarterfinals are done, and we are ready to find out who will be going the Swedish WCG Finals. Along the way we had SK-Gaming who didn't qualify last weekend.
Yet another weekend with the Swedish WCG Qualifier is near its end. The only thing left is the two semifinals. The semifinals that will allow the winner to compete at the Swedish WCG Finals. Two of the mighty Swedish teams joined up, and wanted to fight for their spot. They are still in the run for the two spots. I'm of course talking about fnatic and SK-Gaming. Will they qualify? First they have to pass their opponents.
Here are the two semifinals:
SK-Gaming vs
Cold As Ice - HLTV
Maps: Best of Three
fnatic vs
defining stars - HLTV
Maps: Best of Three
SK-Gaming will be facing the only opponent they last against in the qualifier. In their previous match, Cold As Ice were able to take the match into overtime and won 18-12 on de_nuke. I sure think Cold As Ice will pick nuke once more if they want any chance at all against SK-Gaming. Since it's best of three maps, I think SK-Gaming will come out on top. But nothing is given yet, it will for sure be an exciting match to follow.
The other semifinal will consist of fnatic and defining stars. Even though defining stars lost two out of their five groupstage matches, they advanced as second, just below SK-Gaming. Will they be able to put up the fight against fnatic?
fnatic did not throw away any matches in the groupstage, but they did have a few close battles. Two of their five matches were settled in the last round. Again it's best of three maps, and I bet fnatic as winner. They just won GameGune, and are back with full strength.
