Valve have launched a new way of enlarging the Steam community and keeping it together.

In what Valve hope to be their next major success, the Steam Community aims to bring together gamers from all over the globe and make it easier to interact with friends from all around.

The Steam Community is comprised of people who play all sorts of PC games. Now it's easy to find someone to play with, meet up with friends, connect with groups with similar interests, and host and join chats, matches, and tournaments. Best of all, its all free.

The website is still in its BETA stages however it looks promising. It offers many features including:

Easily see your friends online
Schedule group events
Create a SteamID user profile
Create and join groups
Access Steam from within any game
Track gameplay stats
New chat rooms and game lobbies
Voice chat in-game or out

Per “Nomad” Lambaek has been testing it out and here are a few examples of what can be created:

Clearly, although the website is still in the testing stages it offers a lot and promises to be a huge step forward in connecting the general gaming public.

i have read it Nomad but someone said that its cs free you can get it etc etc. . . but nothing ty for answer !!

I have it and it looks so much better, bit annoying with the pop ups like msn but turned that all off. good job :)

But in game on cs 1.6, you can't see friends anymore :S

Its good but i have have some problems like lag. You have to change <Shift+Tab> coz when you press tab to see the score some stucks of the steam community are opening. So open the steam and go to setting and next in game. HF!!!!

it looks nice but lots of bug :/ like if you are ingame (1.6) and u do "shit tab" and then press escape u walk silent w/ tab infront of u if u hit shit again u can run again but the scoreboard is still on top but the friends thing looks nice
