CS:GO matchmaking next week?

The Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developer team has in an in earlier tweet hinted at matchmaking arriving in the game in next week's update.

Matchmaking was one of the most sought after features of CS:GO as soon as the game was announced, as its importance in making the game more popular due to how easy it should make finding games.

The developer team's tweet read "We're working towards next week's update" and included the following picture, which can hardly be interpreted in more than one way:

"We're working towards next week's update" - CS:GO dev team

It seems like an important update on the way of making CS:GO more popular and competitively viable while bringing in more younger gamers. Last weeks haven't included any major updates to the game, for which we have now found an explanation.

Next up on the most important updates list would be a spectating client such as CSGO TV, whose importance Petar "Tgwri1s" Milovanovic explained in a recent article here on HLTV.org.

Yeah, I've got 2 servers from diffirent locations and both of them are unable to connect to if you leave them idle after your match. The only way how you can play on the server again is that you reboot it. And I've heard of other people with this problem too.

the bomb planting sound should be removed cause it makes 1onX situations pretty much impossible as terrorists.

It was like that in source and we had a lot of clutches...In my opinion it adds another factor to the game. You have to think of how to plant the bomb so the enemy can't kill you easily while planting the bomb. Also you should know or try to find out where the enemys are...you will get used to it ;)

well u rly think that works against even 2 guys waiting you to plant on both sides OR if you've got like 10 seconds left and no plant done.. U make the sound 1 peeks and in the best possible scenario u kill him and uve got 5 seconds left. you must plant or you lose. so the last guy peeks and if u dont stop planting he kills you.. fucks up those situations a lot. same thing for jumping sound while stationary.. in d2 u cant get in without a sound from window, you cannot get on top of yellow silently @ nuke when you've planted.. or as a CT.

1.6 was released as a new game with steam and it hasn't changed drastically since then, apart from the update that got reverted (the one that fucked the jump trying to destroy the russian walking) I can't recall another relevant change.

1.6 is not a game, 1.6 is a version. the game is counter strike. it was released on retail as version 1.0, and is now 1.6. I didnt think id have to actually explain it. I applaud you for standing your ground regardless of how bad the argumentation is.

the awp delay was the worst update ever on steam, was late 2003 or early 2004 I think, they also put that stupid headshot skull icon and the same crosshair for every resolution but they inverted that one. Dont know if you remember there was also a bug when some1 would be crouching near a wall, he would seem looking at the wall but in fact he was looking at you, alot of knife fail attempts on that one ^^

but the difference is even with all those changes the game was still the same.cs:go is on the source engine and you cant change the way it "feels", the players look like they are sliding not running, they are "fat" and one of the biggest issue I have with it,is the death animation,if they could fly back like in 1.6 that would be a huge plus. The satisfaction you get when you one deag some1,well you dont have that in source/csgo because half the time I dont even know if I killed the guy.

As said above it got in retail at 1.0 and just because you choose to look at the game from 1.6 doesn't change the fact that you are wrong. It's even in the name for you. It was called BETA 3.x etc and no longer called BETA after 1.0. Every single person here knows you are wrong. But your stubbornness and your hate for the game keeps you from ever admitting it. You will just use the biased and unfactual argument "But that's how i see it".

You have no clue how huge it is as in your country people do not play 1.6 much. But in Asia there are huge amount of 1.6 players. PS: I would like to know how does the site counts bots? I mean how do you know that?

but 1.6 wasn't created as 1.6. it became 1.6 from many, many, many updates. it literally took a decade to get to where it was. cs:go came out this summer and people don't realize it will take a bit for it to become polished. it can only get better from here.

If they implement this it may attract FPS gamers that enjoy the concept of a ranking system and being able to work toward something. Hopefully it brings in more casuals!

They are irrelevant since the game itself doesn't own potential elements needed for a game to be succeeded competitively (great hitboxes, character movements, weapon recoils; or in short, high skill caps). What makes GO to be on the top of the scene at the moment is only the hype. I don't think GO will survive that long when the only thing that supports its life is only that..

How do you know/assume that they're working on it, provided that since the last 1 year, they didn't take any actions towards improving/updating GO majorly? You're a Sourcer, and for that reason, every aspects in GO would be considered as "perfect" by you guys, whereas it's totally the other way around with 1.6 players..

Wow, are you actually blind? "since the last 1 year, they didn't take any actions towards improving/updating GO Majorly" Have you been stuck in the basement for the last year? I have never once said GO is "perfect", and it's expected that it needs a few tweaks here and there, hence why I am awaiting J3di's fix for the recoil which is superb stuff, and the implementation of CSGO TV etc etc. There is a reason why some of us "know/assume", it's because J3di who created zBlock for CS:S and has now become a paid employee of Valve, is helping them find solutions to issues. What people consider as "major updates" are infact what Valve consider "minor updates" at present, as most of what people have brought up can be tweaked over the next few months as appropiate. Hence why Valve put their time into two things such as the Match Making system and GOTV.

1. Yes, they haven't really updated something major to the game. I can't understand the decision because a lot of people had been giving constructive suggestions towards the game at its official forum since a long time ago, and because Valve had the budget to execute them. 2. Are you being in denial now? Read #165 and find out by yourself why I say so. 3. They should've implemented the matchmaking system and GO TV before releasing the game, if they are that important. I don't even know what Valve have been doing since the first beta till now, months after the official release of the game. Seems like they're busy updating and making million dollars tournaments for their main project game, DotA 2. Oh, God.. What have they done to the series that have made them to be what they are today?

Naturally they cannot make the commands that change the recoil "legal" then everyone could just set the recoil to zero. I am sure Valve have been notified about the new values, and are considering it, so give it a little time.

For anyone interested on this topic, a post by J3di on the Cadred forums regarding his recoil changes. "For me: The settings alter the maximum recoil for pistols and autosnipers so I'd like to come up with some recoil parameters for those weapons which put them back into balance. For others: I'd really like more feedback, someone has reached out to VG on my behalf, I hope to contact players from mTw this weekend and also hope to reach NiP to get their comments - and other teams most welcome though I know how to contact these ones. One of the main concerns right now is if it makes recoil to easy to control, I don't think it does but I need top players to give this a try and hopefully confirm that."

I just hope Valve isn't stupid enough to ignore these recoil values. I'm afraid they will never implement them, and leave the recoil as it is, which would be of course a really bad decision.

Not sure what you are on about when it comes to hitboxes, as they are actually smaller hitboxes and are currently the best thing about the game. The recoil as mentioned above is being worked on by J3di with some of the top teams.

Why the F*** are they making matchmaking system? Are they so dumb? Firstly this system can be easily replaced by esl versus. Secondly theyre slowly loosing players because of crashing and gameplay (money and sound system, maps, smg overpowered, recoil, fps command unlocked, movement and so much more)... Screw them. If they dont work on staff that community wants, this game will slowly die...F*** this. Im so dissapointed because this game has had huge potential.

You need to realise that only a little percentage of the players use ESL and that all FFA-players and casual-players will never use ESL versus. Therefor it's a really good idea to implement it into the game itself. This will push more casual players towards the competitive side of CS and broaden our scene. I don't see how anybody can see this as a bad thing.

Very disappointing. There are several things with a higher priority than a matchmaking system, and I hope they have fixed them. I REALLY hope they have done some good changes, like removal of plant sound, less crashing etc. cause the game really won't last long if they don't fix the core issues soon. Also, will this match making system incorporate the community backed maps, such as mirage and nuke_ve, or will it use nuke_se, against the entire communities wishes? If they do use nuke_se, then it shows how much attention they are paying the the competitive community - Nil.

So, you got a buzillion people screaming that steam stats are dropping, and they must fix that, which this should help out with, and then you got another buzillion screaming they should do something else, I mean they cannot do everything at the same time. We need matchmaking, they are doing matchmaking, lets be happy for a change.

nice, but i think that's not the most important change valve would do, all CS players never need this to play. they should start with the GOTV, m4 silencer, movements, and other things needing to be fixed

Yes, add unnecessary stuff and don't fix the game itself. Way to go.

Yay! no gameplay changes, good stuff Valve. As if having a game that is fun to watch wont help you get more ppl to buy it. Only hope i have left is that once 1.6ers dominate the competitive scene more 1.6 oriented gameplay changes will be released.

CS:GO have a lot sponsors... software and hardware, 1.6 is dying because he hasn't. If they improve the gameplay a little bit looks like 1.6, Ok! But they will not change anything of gameplay. CS:GO = CS:S. Enjoy the most played game DYING. ps.sorry about google translation.

Match making is already on? I think it would be an update which would find you a match on players skill level.

lol why on earth would this game be released without matchmaking for teams, scrims and such. Imagine if LoL didn't have that, how unprofessional.

Some people maybe just need to accept that cs:go is not like cs:1.6 and isn't intented to be also. But this doesn't mean the game has to be shit. I aggree many things can use an update. Most important ones being removal of molotov and add of cs:go.TV. But there are also some new and positive things I think. For example: the money-system. This will allow for much lesser eco's. So there should be more gunround-action. Wich is allways more fun to play and to watch. Also because of this money-system people are forced to start using more guns than before. Like smg's are becoming a bigger factor now. This also gives an extra to the viewer or player I think. And honestly when I play cs:1.6 now, that game just looks ugly now. And I played it for years and years so. Because of the game's new looks this could attract more young people to the game. Wich hopefully will secure a future in Counter-Strike Esport online and offline. So maybe instead of whining about the cs:go you should start playing it. And I guess most of you will like it fast enough. Atleast I'm starting to like it :-). Peace.

It will be really good if they make the skill group as per kill/death ratio.
