KODE5 - The Revolution Returns
Today we see news form the KODE5 committee. News pleased by many and what great news it is. Yet they are still missing a few important announcements, but they are yet to come.
The year was 2006. Back then players from 16 countries was brought all the way to Beijing, China. Kode5 hosted their grand finals in Beijing, with a total of 6 different games. Back then we saw great CS teams attending. Among them was, fnatic, mibr, SK, wNv and hoorai(now 69N-28E). Back then NiP walked away with the first prize of 25.000$, infront of wNv and hoorai.
Today it is time for great news. KODE5 will be back with a 2007 event. Where it will be is still unknown, but rumors point at either Moscow, Russia or Beijing, China, where it will be located, will you have to wait with until they announce it. Nothing has yet been announced about the games at Kode5, but looking at the temporary page they had a while ago, CS 1.6 and WarCraft 3 should be there. Along with the announcement KODE5 release version two of their homepage, check it out here. Last years event had sponsors such as, AMD, Foxconn, Razer and Corsair. Only Corsair stayed as sponsor, and the three others decided to leave. But Kode5 has brought in another two new sponsors. The two head sponsors are Gigabyte and Coolermaster. Here is a little taste of the full announcement.
The full announcement can be found here.“Season two of KODE5 is looking to top even last year’s tournament,” notes Lester Lau, KODE5 Revolutionary-in-Command. “With new events, new supports, and a new secret location for the KODE5 Global Finals, the entire KODE5 team is anxious to bring our new series of events to gamers worldwide.”
We will stay tuned for more exciting news, sure hope they come soon. KODE5 gathered lots of attention and media coverage last year, so we here at HLTV.org are pleased they are back, hopefully with the game we love most.
