NiP win ESWC Nordic over Anexis

Ninjas in Pyjamas have managed to defeat Anexis 2-0 (16-3, 16-8) to win the Nordic ESWC 2012 qualifier which earned them a paid trip to the finals in Paris in three weeks.

NiP came into the qualifier as heavy favorites and once again delivered, as they have still yet to lose a map after switching to CS:GO. After defeating AfterShock Crushed and hiGhrollers they qualified for ESWC by defeating team X 2-0 yesterday.

HastaLaVista, known as Anexis as of today, came in with 7th seed and took down Afterlife Gaming and WinFakt before qualifying for ESWC with a 2-0 victory over gosu.

All that was left was to determine who would win a paid trip to Paris as opposed to just a spot, and of course the glory of winning what many consider the toughest qualifier for ESWC.

NiP vs Anexis VOD by ESPlanet (game starts at 27:23)

The Swedes were dominant on de_train_se as they went up 12-1 as Counter-Terrorists before surrendering two in a row. It made no difference though, as Anexis couldn't score a round in the second half and the map ended with a lopsided 16-3 score.

Second map was de_inferno_se where NiP extended their lead to 8-1 before Anexis scored three in a row. The Danes would get the last round, but NiP once again led with a double digit score after first half.

Next half saw Anexis win their first pistol round allowing them to get a quick 3-0 lead, but NiP's terrorist play was solid and they cruised to six straight rounds with Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund clutching the final round for a 16-8 win.

ESWC 2012 Nordic qualifier final standings:

1. Sweden NiP - paid trip to ESWC 2012
2. Denmark Anexis - slot for ESWC 2012
3-4. Sweden team X
3-4. Norway gosu

Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg also added a fan voted man of the match award from the grand final to his ever growing trophy cabinet with 66% of the votes, to go with his recent MVP award from DreamHack Valencia.

Both NiP and Anexis have qualified for ESWC 2012 where HLTV.org will of course be on-site to provide you with full coverage of the first big international CS:GO tournament.

Im thinking about the opposite. Now NiP shows everyone the game is not random. They are in poleposition, they are the team to beat. They are going in the very front and shows how a superior godlike? team and players in CS:GO looks like at this early stage of the game. Meanwhile I dont hope they allready reached the absolute top skillcapacity in this game are able to display, yet...

Im sure NiP in good form could beat verygames or some other css superhybermega talents but these games were abit boring, no real competition here. :/

Gee, what a surprise... I honestly think Team X (if they in the lower bracket) or gosu would have been a better finals opponent for NiP. Gosu especially have had a strong showing lately.

I agree with Rahim. It's harder to detect nice shots in GO which quite frankly makes it more boring to watch. I can't really tell if they are just being lucky or if it's actually skill. The ak one shots in 1.6 are so much nicer than in GO.

That is is the case. We see the headshots from the upright corner, not the actual headshots. It's just strafe and spray and the saucers just love it

I'm still not convinced , i bought the game 3 weeks ago and play'n it since , it just doesn't have the 1.6 madness and ludicrousness it's not as exciting.Too realistic for me to even see it as a Counter-Strike , so i treat it as a different game, more or less an illegitimate child of cs:s and cod :))
