fnatic through to PGS final
fnatic have become the first team to reach the final in the PGS CS 1.6 tournament after defeating Anexis 2-0.
In a match between the two only Danish representatives in the tournament, fnatic pulled off a convincing performance to go through to the final and confirm that they are serious contenders for the title.
But it was Anexis to take bragging rights first, with Nicolaj "Nuggi" Larsen's team, who started out on the CT side, taking the opening two rounds. A buying strategy from fnatic in the third round paid off and saw them take several rounds in a row. Anexis wold still manage to get two more rounds, but that was as far as they went, as fnatic were up 10-5 at the break.
The second half was a one-way street, with fnatic taking control of proceedings from the very first round, which allowed them to win the first map 16-6.
Both teams then moved to de_tuscan, a map in which Anexis had already shown some strong play against Natus Vincere. Here, it was fnatic who started out the brighter, winning the opening four rounds. Anexis then responded by taking three rounds in a row, but a good eco strategy from fnatic saw the Swedish/Danish mix regain control of the game. Some rounds were then exchanged, but fnatic managed to go into half-time with a narrow 8-7 lead.
Now on the Terrorist side, fnatic were simply too hot to handle, giving Anexis no chance to take the game to a third map as they won de_tuscan 16-9.
