VeryGames top ESWC France

VeryGames has defeated Buykey 2-0 (16-13 de_inferno_se, 16-8 de_train_se) to win ESWC France and qualify for the ESWC 2012, where they will be placed in group B.

Buykey started off where they left off in the semi-finals as they scored the opening three rounds on de_inferno_se to gain an early lead on VeryGames. Kenny "kennyS" Schrub clutched a one-on-three situation in round four.

Next rounds were traded by the teams with VG winning round five, but Buykey quickly getting the next one. Forced to save, a couple of P250s allowed the nation's flagship team to escape with a save round win.

VG went up 6-4 before Buykey's aggressive push down the middle including a well placed Molotov on two VG members' feet allowed them to snatch a round. Buykey even went up 7-6, but then surrendered the last two rounds to make it 8-7 for VG.

Buykey wasted no time in rushing B on their terrorist side pistol round, and VeryGames's unsuccesful retake tied the game at eight. After to uneventful save rounds, the challengers once again abused VG's B on round four.

Grand final of ESWC France was played on the main stage

As so often happens in these almost upsets, Buykey lost a favorable save round where they even got the entry kill next round, and allowed the nation's number one team to get back in the game.

Buykey went on to win two more rounds without stringing any together, as the VeryGames switched to a higher gear following the save round win and won eight of the next ten rounds, 16-13 overall.

Next map, de_train_se, started with Buykey going up 3-0 as terrorists. VeryGames responded with five straight rounds and by killing the entire Buykey team in round nine, but the bomb exploded, giving Buykey their fourth round.

Left in a one-on-two situation in the following round, Schrub was unable to get a kill as Buykey tied the game at five. The underdogs won the next round as well, forcing VG on a weak buy, which they were able to convert for a win.

VeryGames hoisting the trophy after winning ESWC France 2012

With Buykey forced to save, VeryGames locked down the map for the remaining three rounds of the half, only allowing Buykey to score two frags as VG ended the half with a 9-6 score.

Cédric "RpK" Guipouy clutched a key one-on-one in their terrorist pistol round, and two save rounds from Buykey made it 12-6 in VG's favor. A quick outside attack then made it 13-6, before two obscure knife kills almost cost them a save round.

At 14-6 Buykey clinched two rounds to keep their ESWC hopes alive, but VeryGames's slow outside hit forced gamepoint at 15-8. That wasn't enough though, as the reigning CS:S world champions clinched a 16-8 win to win 2-0 overall.

I really don't think that they will do even half of what they did in 1.6. And for the last year maybe, they weren't very stable. If they will pass the group stage in ESWC, it will count as success for them

they weren't very stable but they were considered the team of 2011. you think and many teams hope that they won't be like in 1.6, i see no reason to think about that, since that they are training a lot and will train more for DH. if they pass the group stage, they will show how strong they are, because they were the last to switch between these teams on ESWC.

They went from first to fourth, then 5-8 at DH, then again to two 1st places, and later to 9-12th and later two third places. Thats not very stable or consisted, but it can be only be me. And also I remember them playing some tournaments doing bad at those and later they placed first or third in the next one. I my opinion thats not very stable

so two placings outside of top4 within 18 months is not stable? "And also I remember them playing some tournaments doing bad at those and later they placed first or third in the next one" what? isn't that how it works? you play bad, you gain motivation, you do well. you get complacent, you do badly, cycle continues. their variance has NOT been big. they used to be very inconsistent (although even then they always showed up at the majors when it mattered the most), but have not been that way since early 2010.

"an" is supposed to be used before vowels (a,e,i,o,u), however in that sentence "a one on three situation.." "one" is pronounced "won", which would make the "w" a non vowel sound. english is wierd, but i hope that helps.

It would be 'a' because you go off of what the following vowel actually sounds like, not what it actually is. Since 'one' sounds like it starts with a 'w', not an 'o', you would use "a one-one-three situation".

Expected! Vg didnt show as good as NIP has been showing tho, not even close. I think NiPs players are too strong invidually, vg has good strats but lacks invidual skill. Look how many shots did their primary awper kennyS miss in these matches, F0rest hits onebullets more often than he landed awp shots on a daily basis. Let see if VG can outsmart NiP which i doubt.
