friberg: "CS:GO can only improve"

Ninjas in Pyjamas ace Adam "friberg" Friberg has voiced his belief that Valve will continue to do a good job in terms of updates for CS:GO.

Valve has been very busy putting out regular updates for CS:GO since the game hit the shelves in late August, even releasing the spectator client - called GO TV - in time for the ESWC finals.

A delegation from Valve flew to Paris to follow the tournament and ask players and media alike about the state of the game and suggestions they might have for future updates.

The ESWC finals also coincided with the highest number of simultaneous CS:GO players since the game's release, which was partly due to the game being free of charge during the days of the event, and Friberg remains confident that everything is heading in the right direction.

"We have seen updates coming out almost every week, we are really happy that they [Valve] have come over and that we have met with them," Friberg said at a press conference.

"They are supporting the game that they are developing, and we will give them more feedback.

"They have already said that they listen to us. The game can only improve more and more."

NiP are yet to lose a single match on LAN since they switched to CS:GO, but as they turn their attention to DreamHack Winter, Friberg is taking nothing for granted for the Swedish event.

"I think teams have improved a lot lately and this was by far the most difficult tournament for us," he explained.

"It was also the first major one, but we will see more of this at DreamHack Winter, in a few weeks."

If Valve really do care about the game, wants to succeed and support it then awesome. But if they don't care and are lazy with the updates and major fixes, they'll simply destroy it like Source. Simple as that. I really hope that CS:GO will become the new big thing. ESWC was the first CS:GO tournament and already gave us a lot of emotions, yet most of the teams need to make a switch or aren't even comfortable with the game. Can't wait for DH.

That's because you don't play it or haven't played it enough. Show 1.6 to someone that doesn't play video games and they'll feel the same way you do. Lets begin a shitstorm, shall we? 1) Movement changes ( Icekating doesnt look very realistic so bunnyhopping and crouchhopping could be easily added too. ) 2) Increase the recoil while running ( shooting while moving fits CS:GO, but it should be harder.) 3) Change CT starting pistol with p250 Everything else from m4 silencer to jumping sound are less important IMO.

shooting while running and/or spraying isn't accurate in CSGO. All you have to do is play the game for more than 2 minutes to realize this. CSGO is as close to 1.6 gameplay wise compared to any other version of CS. Just because it has more refined graphics doesn't make it a css counter part lmfao. Never played the game but spraying with weapons like m4 and ak47 looks shit when you're comparing it to CS 1.6 Also the movement is quite clumsy and they must improve it In general the game is quite fine but they need to make it a bit more like CS 1.6 when it comes to movement & weapon control

I saw other people playing this game , and it was very clear that the recoil is crap comparing to CS 1.6 There are things that you can see on Stream / HLTV even if you didn't play the game .. and as someone who played CS over 10 years I think I have the experience to judge those little things only by watching... and by looking at the comments here - seems like I'm not wrong. We all know recoil is fucking horrible and you can hardly spray and get ace. Also in my opinion the fact that you fell off nuke's roof and you dont take any damage is ridiculous. they took off all the good/fun/skill side of CS, which is movements. People was playing cs just for bunnyhoppin/doing super mega cool jumps which were clearly useful in clanwar because the better you could control your movements the faster you are and your aim gets better too. Not to mentiont AK sound.. so shit and different from 1.6. Now I reckon source shitnoobs are very happy about this game, and so I was at the begin but now im not anymore.. RUNNING AND HOLDING MOUSE1 SHOULD NOT WORK but it does. Oh and you can't tap (1 shot) properly like in 1.6 try it on aim map and you`ll see the difference. i agree...CS GO doesnt give the feeling that cs 1.6 did... I have played cs go and believe me i really tried so hard to like the game but to no avail because first of all u wont be confident enough to land a headshot and even if you do get a HS by luck still you do not get the satisfaction of killing as the weapons like M4 and AK47 firing sounds gay and also the death animation is lame...AK47 was a weapon to reckon with merely with its sound whereas its almost pussy in GO..really doesnt feel like holding a AK or M4

Playing cs:GO is like playing L4D, in terms of sounds, sprites and mouvements, and it's pretty annoying (i wonder playin L4D than playing GO), also it's maybe a good remake of cs:S (Graphic ways since it's a source engine), BUT 1.6 was so original and interesting since 1.5 was released and this is the difference ! cs:1.6 = eSport cs:GO = Game

People need to stop to compare GO with 1.6, they're totally different games and GO will never be like 1.6. Yes there are a lot of things to improve but GO just came out so give it some time, and seeing that Valve takes the effort to work with the top players, I think it's gonna be awesome. So stop saying "spraying should be like in 1.6, put in the ability to bunnyhop again". it's a different game and won't be like 1.6, if you don't like it stick to your 1.6, I played CS since 1.3 and enjoy GO because it's something new but with the same aspect as every CS.

When a game is built, it has a foundation that sets it apart from other games. The entire creation of CS:GO will never be competitive. The layout of each map, the physiques, the player models, the textures that are used and lighting. Yes, things can be altered and changed through code, but in order for the game to be good, they would have to re-haul the entire game, which I highly doubt they're going to do. Valve like any company is about money, and the only thing they will do is alter minor features. If they had to revamp the entire game, they would have to go back to the drawing boards, which they won't do. The entire feel of CS:GO is out of whack and it would take a tremendous amount of work just to get it to feel anything like 1.6 again.

If I was the main shareholder at Valve, I'd do this: make CS 1.6 and CS:Source unplayable with updates. Turn their gameplay into something resembling modern warfare. Then CS:GO would be the only option, and every dumbass here and in cadred.org would eventually shut up when they'd realize no amount of crying will help.
