New update fixes Terrorist income

Valve has released a new update for CS:GO which was aimed at fixing a major issue with the game's money system.

HLTV.org's own writer Tomi "lurppis" Kovanen had flagged up the problem in an article published last week, in which he had stated his belief that the Molotovs should be removed from the game.

An update released on Friday made the Molotovs less powerful, and Valve has now addressed the issue of the income earned by Terrorists who choose to save their weapons.

With this new update, Terrorists who survive a round no longer receive money - like it was in 1.6 -, instead of receiving full money.

Below you can find all the issues that were fixed with the last update:

  • Eliminated the vignette effect from the scoreboard.Scoreboard has been narrowed
  • Smoke grenade visibility on the edges of smokes has been adjusted to obscure vision less.
  • Improved some cases of particle sorting between smoke and molotovs and other particle systems.
  • Adjusted the loser bonus for Terrorists when time has run out.
  • Surviving Terrorists get no income, but dead teammates receive a normal payout.
  • Removed match start and round end info panel animation sfx.

Valve: "I have no idea what I'm doing" I'm sad that they only fixed this like 4 months into retail? this was asked many times during the beta and they ignored most of the feedback in that stage. They are only updating the game because of PR, not cuz they want to make CS good again, sad.

actually the idea is pretty clear here: they're coming back to 1.6 system. They should have listened the community from the beginning instead of thinking we were just bitching them because GO was new. I hope they'll listen to the community too about the movements

Even if Valve did 1.6 stuff in CS:GO people would still moan, if Valve simply rebranded 1.6 and called it 1.7 people would buy it instantly and say its amazing. What you have to realise is that generally the community is quite fickle, it's why Valve moved away from CS in the first place, they got far more appreciation from TF2, DotA, Portal, L4D Communities than the CS community will ever give.

tbh I think you're partly wrong here. The community is indeed whiny and it always pissed me off, but if valve had come up with a game with a gameplay closer to 1.6 (only when it comes to movements & aiming, would have been enough for me I would have even accepted new maps and all the rest if it wasn't for that), I think more people would have followed. A pretty large number of us here have already joined even though most said they didn't like the game, so not everybody here is narrow-minded enough to simply reject is cuz it's new

the problem is that developers (or whoever is making stupid decisions) dont believe that gamers know more about how to improve gameplay than them. they may be better than gamers in 90% of things in life but you cant beat gamers when it comes to games. hope they will realize this before year 2026

these updates were necessary but whats more important is the core gameplay, i doubt they will make any significant changes. but may be valve realise later that the game is failing badly, then may be they do some relevent updates to see how it plays out.

Ok. So everybody is crying how 1.6 should be forgotten, and CS:GO should be played instead, cuz ... you see ... it's a new game, better than the old one, blablabla. In the same time all the suggestions by the community are to make CS:GO a more CS 1.6 like game. dafaq is my reaction :)

Good job. I'm just hoping Lurppis doesn't show up this time. It was sad to read the last news item comments. He undoubtedly has some good ideas and enthusiasm but he lacks the professionalism that is needed when you are representing something (in this case, e-sports). I would never hire anyone with that kind of personality as, for example, a spokesman for my company.

For everyone who havent noticed, becouse theres nothing mentioned in that update now u can use smoke to extinguish fire made by molotow/incindiary grenades. Well molotow's and incindiary grenades no longer work in smoke. So the game should be much faster now when u can stop fire :)
