THOR admins on WRTT controversy

The THOR Open admins have released a statement to shed some light on the controversial ban of WRTT in last weekend's qualifier.

The Swedish team put together a statement on Sunday evening to explain that the infamous .txt file that had earned them disqualification was not the order confirmation of a cheating software, but "a joke".

WRTT also stated that since the admins could not find any evidence that the team cheated by looking at the players' demos, there was nothing to support their ban, which saw ESC Gaming progress to the semi-finals.

The THOR Open organisation has now publicly commented on this matter for the first time, explaining that WRTT's disqualification was solely based on the fact that the admins had lost their trust in the team.

"Yesterday we took the decision to disqualify WRTT from the sixth qualifier to THOR Open. The conflict was born after the mix team beat ESC Gaming with 16-0 and NiP Gaming with 16-11, creating strong accusations against the mix team from both top players as well as players of lower establishment.

This made us watch 430 rounds in total, all WRTT demos from both matches, without finding anything suspicious enough to convict the team. We're not saying there were no questionable moments, just nothing suspicious enough for them to be disqualified.

Though, during this conflict, a text document saying that the WRTT player Jesper "jw" Wecksell had indeed purchased cheats from the famous cheat-developer "Organner.pl" appeared on his personal stream. Wecksell immediately hid the VOD, making it even more suspicious. In the heat of the moment, also considering all the accusations and questionable situations in the demos, we lost our trust towards the team and disqualified them.

We did have in mind that this text file might had been part of a joke, and we are not saying they cheated. What we're saying is that the .txt and the hiding of the stream VOD resulted in them not being trustworthy enough to go through.

In hindsight this decision might have been made a bit too rationally, not really letting Wecksell defend himself in the end. We want to give our sincere apologies for that, but the ruling still stands and we are not in any way hiding our decision.

Best regards,
THOR Open CS:GO Officials"

This means that WRTT's ban stands and that ESC Gaming will take on Ninjas in Pyjamas at 19:00 to decide who will be the second finalist of the qualifier, after VeryGames also reached the tournament decider.

Where does this statement of the VOD being deleted come from? I have a feeling that jw made it private when the whole thing blew out of proportion and then made it public again later on, perhaps.

Sorry for replying to you... But did the admins even watch the demo with x-ray/wallhack or anything? - It's kinda hard judging someone who cheat without using some yourself while spectating.

This is so true and also a fact there's nothing we could do to make a judgement call if we wouldn't have watched the video withouth the cheat itself...thanks for bringing this up

Correct decision, not the first time these guys offended their opponents intelligence by abusing different kind of cheats. In a little better world, you see perm ban inc ! Dont give this more attention now. Let them attend DH BYOC and we talk from there.

yeah its a common thing to smash the worlds best team such as NiP and then pull out that really funny joke about purchasing the cheats...this guy is soooo smart...if he only would shut the fuck up and dont do those "funny" jokes about it, it would have been ok, but now he seems untrustworthy for his stupid jokes which is completly his own fault. I agree with admins and even more, they have final decision, not just some random retards from hltv.org who acts like sheeps

he didn't joke about it. it was a text file named "asdsadsadasdsadasd" with a four months old joke. not like he created the text file to joke about this match, he just happened to still have the text file on his computer. this decision is a joke.

im not saying what the admins did was right. in face it was quite unjust to not give jw a chance to defend himself. but to prove others wrong, they should attend a LAN. if they can perform as well as they did in the qualifier, people will automatically think better of them. its their words against those who are the best in the game! who would you believe as an hltv.org reader?

They won't have 100% winrate against topteams in lans, obviously this was a fluke and purely played off of emotion, which is a huge part in this game. I bet right at that moment they felt like the best team in the game. Now not so much probably, and if you would put nip and wrtt in the same room at a random time and let them play a map, 90% of the time NiP is going to win.

of course they wont. but if they can give NiP and ESC a run for their money at lan and have a few good matches where their skills really shows, people will appreciate them rather than call them cheaters. same thing happened with colon but then he performed at lan and people saw his real talent

Yes but imagine if they were to keep changing their minds and their decision resulting in rescheduling constantly? They will lose all their credibility as an organization and thought more to be amateurs who can't make up their minds. As by this statement it's obvious they neither believe they cheat nor do they believe they don't cheat. In the end they just chose one thing and don't want to reverse it for professional reasons.

This is the equivalent of that danish organization banning coloN and then reversing the decision later. IMO, doing the right thing is far more professional than sticking to a (wrong) decision, but hey, that's just my point of view.

What if they are 5 players like Manne? Online result is still a result and you can't just DQ it because it can't be repeated on LAN. m5 beat ESC 16-0 online (1.6), no chance in hell they can do that on LAN. It's a null point.

WRTT are known for not being the most legit players in the world...Most of these guys have been playing with cheaters or cheated on their own before...I remember when Lox was playing under the WRTT flag and he drew a dot on his screen during the Esport SM lan finals, just so he could noscope easier...I wouldn't trust these guys, especially not during an event that is played without Anticheat

From fragbite, E-Sport SM anno 2011. Swedish text from october the 9:th, since you are swedish you will understand it): "Strax innan den andra kartan skulle dra ig kom administratna p-Sport-SM och bad alla sla tangentbordet. En rvar ig. Tidigare har lag hittats med lite allt mgt, bland annat en prick som satt pe Run This Town-spelaren Loxs sk. Laget fick dn varning, och man hittade otilla saker i We Run This Towns configs, bland annat ett bunnyjump-script poxs dator." So why should you use scripts that is not getting you any benefits/advantages what so ever (?) These guys are plain cheaters with obvious cheater backgrounds. Thats it.

I know Lox, he is playing legit. It's a long story, but they where playing the final match on the scene and they had 20 minutes to set up their computers and their settings. But 1 from each team had to go to a pre-final interview in the stream so Lox was the one from WRTT. When he got back 10 minutes later he only had 10 minutes to set up his computer and fix all his settings, he just downloaded his 4 year old cfg coz he couldnt find the other one because the admins said they had to start the match. He even played the first half of the match without any mumble and the opponents sat just behind them... In the config there was a non-working 4 year old b-hop script and stopsound binded. Therefore they got disqualified from the qualifier.

"I know Lox, he is playing legit" You are his friend, as we all have noticed, Yes, but rest is a bad lie or your truth with a very friendly modification. Not "just" these 2 things, it was also previous happenings admins took into consideration before banning this team and now once again disqualify. Do you really think a "4-year"-"non working"(pfft) bhop script is the core essence they getting banned? The admins wich host THOR open are the same ppls who also host E-SPORT-SM, they got all the Real knowledge when it comes down to everyones dark past with several cheating occasions. Thats the relevant part in this story. Not your subjective words/opinion, they got no weight what so ever. IF WRRT are 100% legit they will display this "worlds best skill" by attending the DH W - BOYC, and nothing else. We all now they most likly wont show their faces around bcuz of different reasons. But ofc the primary one is that hackers cant rly match things up to par at LAN when everybody can see what you >Rly< are doing.

Nice to see the admins standing by their decision, despite people on HLTV seeming very fickle as to whether they believe WRTT cheat or not. As I said before: if WRTT go to DH BYOC, win, then smash NiP and ESC on LAN, then nobody will consider them cheaters. Until then, they're still suspect.

Well this settles it, there will never be a no name team winning something online vs teams with a reputation because they just confirmed that they watched the demos and found nothing and banned them because they did not trust them. It's okay that they are giving them a public apology, but that doesn't change a thing about how they feel now. It must be a little bitter-sweet taste for jw and co. given the fact, that THOR are indirectly saying, that they don't think, WRTT cheated at any time. At least they are free from any further charges towards them now, and they can still play anything they want, but that doesn't justify the fact, that the big and known teams are above the unknown players what comes to justice. I had really hoped, that THOR would let WRTT get their wins against both NiP and ESC, which in my head was the right thing to do.

That statement did not make any sense at all. As I understand it they did not even ban WRTT from future THOR events, correct? If this is the case it's extra ridiculous as they were apparently disqualified for "cheating", but are still welcome to return and compete in future THOR events when must-have teams has finally already qualified. I wonder how the society would look if we would convict people based on lack of trust. Please make me believe in mankind.

Society already does so. One person suspected of a murder even if innocent, will still have damage done to their careers and livelihood no matter its outcome. But if that person posed with a picture of the deceased with a gun pointing towards it, it is circumstantial evidence, but evidence nonetheless and will make them the center of more scrutiny and or prejudice. You do NOT tease, taunt, flaunt or even attempt to showcase such as a supposed joke. That is just common sense, never incriminate yourself when accused.

Nice excuse, "we lost our trust towards the team and disqualified them." Where does THOR find these admins that make these types of decisions just based on pure intuition and take a .txt file that doesn't prove anything as evidence? I mean, getting a screenshot from the mail sent by organner IS EVIDENCE, but a .txt file that can be written by a no brainer? Admins just prefer to hear top players words instead of random mix-teams', or maybe because a ESC vs NIP match would attract more viewers???

Oh my god. You must be the dumbest person using this site - and there's a lot, lol... Have you even read ANYTHING of WRTT's statement? If so(+not) read it again, because you obviously don't have a clue of what you're talking about. It was made back in June (25th if I'm correct) and re-edited the 5th of November, come on, would you? It is probably an old joke towards a mate or a regular hater. You are ignorant just like the other haters. Don't feed THOR with undeserved pride of their decision, it's horrible to the game that we all love, Counter-Strike - whether it's 1.6, promod, online, CZ, Source og Global Offensive!

I don't know what to say about all this, but many seem to forget that what has REALLY caused this kind of disputes to happen is all the cheaters out there. This would never have happened if people didn't cheat at all. WRTT is now paying for what thousands of cheaters have done to e-sports before them. I'm not saying it's the right decision, but i have inderstanding for the admins tough situation. Cheats nowadays are not what they used to be. Shaking crosshairs do not exist if you configure the cheat the way you want it. Google Immunity Duo and you will find videos published just to display how hard (impossible) it is to detect. No existing anticheat will detect it so it will only scare off the ones that uses older free cheats. I have watched some demos of people using it and i can't really say "ah there it is, busted" because there is always reasonable doubt, could have been a natural shake or just VERY fast reactions. How could i tell? There is no "proof available" if i don't have access to the persons PC and i can't see how it would be possible to get access fast enough after a dispute to find evidence. easily deleted in 5 seconds. This is the real problem, not nervous organizers.

The writer of THOR really thought he could save it with that 430-rounds quote, and then ten lines beneath ruin it all once again, made me laugh badly!

well he made the VOD private because of accusations and made it public again after he got proper reasons to defend 'rumored' cheating.

yeah its a common thing to smash the worlds best team such as NiP and then pull out that really funny joke about purchasing the cheats...this guy is soooo smart...if he only would shut the fuck up and dont do those "funny" jokes about it, it would have been ok, but now he seems untrustworthy for his stupid jokes which is completly his own fault. I agree with admins and even more, they have final decision, not just some random retards from hltv.org who acts like sheeps

what the hell..WRTT asked to play with EAC, NIP couldnt do it, and now WRTT are banned without any proof that they cheated, if someone cheated, it would show in some of the 430 rounds they specced.. admins are just afraid to stand up to NIP and ESC

thats why death penalty is forbiden in Portugal, because in case of error, there is no coming back. that and the violation of the constitutional right to live. this decision to disqualify, given that WRTT already proved that they didnt cheat (i guess), is total joke. i understand that ESC and NIP would bring way more attention to the event, but u cant deny that they got beaten!

Maybe because the person behind saying schneider cheats is wmb and only wmb with different accounts, nobody cares there is no cheatmovie of schneider in CSGO only a screenshot someone has made and saying that it's his desktop. Until there is a cheatmovie of schneider i suggest people ( wmb ) to stop saying he is a cheater in CSGO

I actually think the movie of jw is not legit, that it is cheat but, with this bad and retarded statement just give them the final vs verygames or else it's just retarded, why disqualify them when not even banning them from the next qualifiers? Sense? none.

Because it`s bad bustmovie, without any analysis and most of those moments were seen during stream anyway. It`s sayd that there is smoke bug as well.

It seems like i'm the only one who think the move is perhabs the better to do ? I mean, again all this drama about the .txt is because of the player, not admins.. And yes, the problem here it's you cant ban for a .txt and some "questionable" rounds, but for me you cant let's play someone in your tournament online with comportement like that. And the "hide" move of the vod was again a really bad one.. For me the admin done what they have to do, and next time we will see in lan if their play was legit or not. (Sorry for my english)

Good Job admins ,kids will cry.. I know how tough it is to take a side in these kind of conflicts, like u said they might never had cheated... but a "joke" with cheat name.. on the day of tournament is just too lame... I wouldt risk having any cheats on my pc if im playing online tourney.... Hacking sucks anyway, will never go beyond medicore.

That is honestly pathetic. They watch all the demos and find nothing worthy of a disqualification. Then disqual them for a completely irrelevant text file and temporarily making a vod stream private (then public again.. its still there) which is just about the most bullshit reason ever. Then openly admit that they made a mistake and probably shouldnt have done it... but arent changing it and making it right. WTF?

One thing that came to my attention is, why is NiP getting so much hate? I haven't seen or heard any statement at all from them regarding their match against WRTT. The only ones who got butthurt to the max was ESC, and NiP is getting a fair share of the blame for it.

Wrong decision by the organization. They ignored the #1 rule for justice: innocent until proven guilty. They even recognize that there is no proof of them cheating amd disqualified them because of lack of trust.

What a fucking joke really. Win vs ESC with 16-0 is not even hard every mid/high team on irc can do that in sweden. THOR is a fucking joke. But what to expect when THOR is sponsring NIP no one can win vs them on THOR i guess.

Will they be able to take part in the next THOR Open Qualifier? They didn't mention it but from what they said it doesen't sound like they would allow them to take part again. "we lost our trust towards the team and disqualified them." Oh and btw; You have to be f****** sure when you ban a team from a competition with such a prizepot, you just can't decide this by your "feelings" telling you that they aren't trustworthy.

He isn't busted? If you were able to read the statement in this new, you would know, that there is more proof of you being a fool in your statement, than there is of jw or any of his teammates cheating throughout the qualifier.
