NiP ease past ProGaming into semis

Ninjas in Pyjamas have earned themselves a spot in the DreamHack Winter semi-finals following a comfortable 2-0 victory over Progaming.TD.

Both teams then moved to de_inferno_se, which was the map that ProGaming.TD had picked. The Swedes began the brighter, but the Brazilians responded in convincing fashion right after, winning the second round thanks to another well-planned eco strategy and the following two rounds.
NiP then regained control of the game, claiming a whopping eight rounds in a row, and even though ProGaming put up some resistance in the 13th round to reduce the deficit to 9-4, the ESWC champions quickly picked themselves up and went into the break up 11-4.
ProGaming came out very strongly in the second half, winning the opening five rounds to narrow the gap to just two rounds. But then NiP proved why they were considered the better team and simply shut down both bombsites, with the Brazilians getting only one more round as the Swedish team ran out 16-10 winners.

A flying start from the Swedish team on de_mirage_csgo saw the Swedish team claim no fewer than the first eight rounds of the map, as ProGaming looked helpless. The next two rounds eventually went the Brazilians' way, but NiP had plenty of money to spend and were able to continue doing their usual strats, adding three more rounds to their tab to make it 11-2. ProGaming still won the last two rounds of the first half, but they knew they had a mountain to climb to overturn a seven-round deficit against the ESWC champions.

Things went from bad to worse right after, with NiP winning the pistol round of the second half in what was a perfect round from the Swedes as everyone stayed alive. An impressive eco round from ProGaming then caught NiP by surprise, but the Brazilian team's recovery was short-lived, as the Swedish team took four consecutive rounds to win the map 16-5.

Both teams then moved to de_inferno_se, which was the map that ProGaming.TD had picked. The Swedes began the brighter, but the Brazilians responded in convincing fashion right after, winning the second round thanks to another well-planned eco strategy and the following two rounds.

NiP then regained control of the game, claiming a whopping eight rounds in a row, and even though ProGaming put up some resistance in the 13th round to reduce the deficit to 9-4, the ESWC champions quickly picked themselves up and went into half time up 11-4.

ProGaming came out very strongly in the second half, winning the opening five rounds to narrow the gap to just two rounds. But then NiP proved why they were considered the better team and simply shut down both bombsites, with the Brazilians getting only one more round as the Swedish team ran out 16-10 winners.

You must be really stupid if you think he would miss the kind of shots he did today on 1.6. Or you just starde watching counter-strike and still pretends you know something about it.

When Cogu was considered decent AWPer in 1.6 back in 2006, players were much much worse than they are today. It was very easy to play like cogu did back in the days where people didnt know that many flashes, smokes and whole skill level overally was much lower. Its 2012 now, counterstrike has evolved so much that these guys are 10 times better than Cogu ever was ( I think he is on his peak atm, getting frags against NIP surely is his hardest achievent now.)

you cant seriously say players were that much worse in 06, especially with awp... cogu played fine(nothing special though) with other weapons,,he just sucked big time with the awp. he has just been away from the game for too long, hes not on the level he was in 1.6

What they are saying is that cogu misses such easy shots that every1 could do. Saw cogu missing 3,4, times someone on important rounds. It's not like Those supposed new pro gamers are jumping everywhere and can not be hit? Especialy that bunny jumps are kinda out of the question it is gonna be more easy for a awper to shoot someone dead. Still cogu fails at having those kind of frags and needs sometimes alot of shots.

never ever gtr > f0rest :) and no its not about opinion he just doesnt stand in the same level as f0rest! there are neo and f0rest and then there are the likes of gtr and whatever.. in GO gtr just plays the same way as he did in 1.6 thats why always to last and low deaths as u can see here 20 compared to 27 of f0rest and the rest of the team, always for stats never entry kills, waits for the others to do his dirty work and then goes crossing for the easy ones.. dont get me wrong ofc he is great player just not comparable to f0rest :)

Don't change a winning formula right? It works but he has been consistently below team average. Right now there is no problem because the competition is still catching up and they are winning everything. Soon when more teams will be on a top level he will have to step up his game. There are alot of players in Sweden with the same or higher skill caliber.

carn was in fnatic for like 7 years and he was at the bottom of the scoreboard most of the time, atleast in the last years, and fnatic didnt kick him, so i guess there is some reason behind it, and btw whats the difference if youre not madfragging when your team is winning?, its when your team is loosing you should be on top

I agree with you but carn was their IGL and the man was fnatic to be honest. And you're right it does not matter if you're not madfragging if you're winning, besides not everyone can be a madfragger because there are only so many kills to share between the players this is true. I more base my opinion on the matches I have spectated and the statistics as well. Fiff does not have nearly as many 1&2&3 kill rounds as his teammates. This in itself is not a problem. The problem will be when the games will become much closer then 16-0/10 steamroll. When things get tough and many rounds come down to the wire, the clutch play and picking up the important frags will be crucial. This is were f0rest and GeT_RiGhT of course excel in. Friberg and Xizt keep up, but IMO Fiff does not.

they need a real awper, look rattlesnake , thats one like delphan was for sk for example , nip would be even harder to beat..when more top awper will own at this game they will need one or it will be a serious disavantage . fifllaren is not top awp he is not even decent, imo first they removed him frim igl to see if he can frag when not leading ,he is close to the exit door

I dont think Fifflaren is that bad as many in here here likes to think.. As a matter of fact he is a solid top player in CS GO, its more the other 4 NiP guys so far being superior compared to rest of the world. Wich other (swedish) player is today for sure better than fifflaren playing CS Global Offensive then ..? NiP wont change anyhing that currently is winning. Over longer time, then maybe yeah - who knows what future holds. I dunno.. it was pretty much the same talk with navi for example and its so called "weakest" link ceh9 seen as a total outsider wich wrnt skilled enough for the team. A majority of times it was Loord especially, who had to tackle the most public agressive reactions from G5-fans, and from time to time it was kuben that should go away/retire or whatever. Same story sometimes (even) for Face last year, but regarding the SK 2011-edition i remember most opinions went like: "Robban's to old" has to move away for another talent. These kind of discussions aka "player replacement demands" from some communityfans will almost always emerge like it's an obvious agenda, naturally what concerns the very best topteams. Not saying it is all 100% bad, fanppls show they really do care for their favourite teams and its a vital element for the eSport to show emotions, apparently when experiencing saddening losses and its good and nothing strange. But out of this some myths can over time actually be created wich isnt rly matching with the whole true reality regarding from the frequent bashing statements.
