CS:GO Team Ranking: November 2012

After finally putting several international events behind us, we are ready to bring back our Team ranking feature, now for CS:GO. It's no surprise that NiP are on top and that VeryGames are in 2nd place, but how far ahead are they from the rest? Which other teams make up our Top 20 and in what order? Check out all that and more below.

It's been a while since we worked on our Team ranking, so for those of you who haven't seen yet what it is all about, you can read the introduction in our first post about it, back in August 2011.

The goal is to as objectively as possible rank the teams based on their achievements and results in international and continental competitions. With focus now of the professional scene moved to CS:GO and with DreamHack Winter and ESWC behind us, we now have enough information to put together our Top 20 for the last few months.

Without further ado, here is our Top 20:

1. Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas

Achievements
1st DreamHack Winter 2012
1st ESWC 2012
1st DreamHack Valencia
Total prize money : 27,602€

The Swedish squad made a clean sweep at international events without a single map lost. They faced and won over VeryGames 3 times in row in finals. And each time, it seems to widen the gap with the French team according to the scores. With 17 wins in a row at lan and 3 titles from 3 tournaments brought back home, Ninjas in Pyjamas has became the reference and legitimately the current best team in the world.

2. France VeryGames

Achievements
2nd DreamHack Winter 2012
2nd ESWC 2012
2nd DreamHack Valencia
Total prize money : 15,110€

The French CS:Source stars made a great transition to CS:GO without any lineup changes. Finishing in the second place 3 times in row, each time behind NiP, they are indisputably the second best team in the world at this moment. They also have some impressive results with 12 wins after 17 LAN matches, but despite these statistics, the French giant seems to be in danger from other potential top teams because of their map lost against Area 51 in ESWC semi-final, but also because of their draws in group stage respectively against ASES at DreamHack Valencia and Anexis at ESWC.

3. United States Area 51

Achievements
1st ESEA invite season 12
3rd ESWC 2012
Total prize money :  10,780€

With their single excursion at ESWC, the American team has made a very good impression by finishing third. They have also been the first team that has taken a map against VeryGames besides NiP. After their recent win at the ESEA Invite season 12, they take hold as the current best team of the North American continent. We can expect other great performances from them for their next participations at international events.

Achievements

Total prize money : 4,081€

Well-known at the CS:S scene, the British team has proven their reputation after finishing second of their group at DreamHack Winter, just behind the NiP giants against which they have given a tight fight for the first place with a 14-16 defeat. Finishing at the 3-4th place of the event, mousesports has thrown a strong signal to the current top 2, that they will be a dangerous challenger in the future.

Achievements

Total prize money : 4,081€

The Swedish team managed a 3-4th place at DreamHack Winter after getting out of the BYOC qualification. After a groupstage without a single loss, they reached the semi-final by beating Absolute Legends in the quarter. They have showed that the Swedish scene is not restricted to NiP and we must count on them for the next events in which they will participate.

Shut up. Na`vi and Fnatic dominated 1.6 for very, very long times. The game is new and people are still trying to bridge the skill gap. Grow up.

LIONS, Mouz, SK, ESC/AGAiN/FX, WinFakt, mTw, m5... A LOT of top teams on one tournament playing together, every single match was a surprise, and when we thought "this team will win this tournament", one other team come on top ! ooooh, the game is new ??? and when cs was started ??? teamZ, e9, X3, SoA, SK, NiP and LnD... theses teams won at least one good tournament... on the end of the year no one know who was better on the year, cuz 2001 had A LOT OF GOOD TEAMS and one unpredictable and competitive scene ! and in cs:go ??? just NiP winning tournaments ? every single final was NiP vs. VG ?? and the game... so boring to watch, noob skins, awp like penis, idiot weapons, retarded recoil and a lot of more things... sorry for my english bro, but u just have poor arguments

Why does one have to be better? All this bickering is sad and only splits up our scene. I go to HLTV for the international hotmatches gotv ip's and the quickest international news. I go to Cadred for the editorial pieces from the staff and other rumors that Richard Lewis releases. I go to ESEA-News for all my North American team news.

Just as first is the keyword "besides NiP" are also the other keywords. They're trying to say even though NiP may have beat VG first, Area51 is the first team besides NiP to have beaten VG in a match. Remember it doesn't saying "Area 51 was the first team to take a map vs VG"

I kinda agree He's the one I would pick as well but that's only because they're not taking advantage of his awp skills (he was so good in CSS) But I could imagine that he also adds a tactical aspect to the game for VG so it's kinda a difficult decision And I don't think ScreaMs playing style would fit in VG

Coming from 1.6, it's also weird seeing a French flag in the Top 5 ;)

Quite simply because this is the ranking until November and Sapphire AMD started the 1st December. You can see next to TOP20 the date of the last update.

Cs 1.6 was a real c strike ,this what we are watching is call of duty, common there is poor skills of players except NiP and VG ,u kill man like in joke.Cs was something special, not this game of money, valve destroyed game scene ,because they want money. They not looking fans anymore. On any other hltv video u can see there are too much unliked videos.70 precent of likes is from source players ,be really. This is not a interesting game like cs 1.6 was.
