NiP over VG 2-0, wins AMD Sapphire

NiP has managed to win yet another tournament in Prague, as they defeated VeryGames 2-0 (16-9 de_nuke_ve, 16-11 de_inferno_se). The third place decider went to myDGB, who defeated BuyKey 2-0.

VeryGames managed to win the opening terrorist side pistol round on de_nuke_ve thanks to one-on-three heroics from Nathan "NBK" Schmitt, but NiP's second round buy quickly tied the game and shifted momentum.

NiP went on to win six straight rounds, led by Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund, but the Frenchmen started getting into the game right after, winning three of the next five to make it 4-8, with NiP on the verge of having to save.

That was not meant to be however as they traded the final three rounds in a fashion that allowed them to keep their money up at all times, and ended the half up 10-5 with Alesund at 21 frags.

Ex6TenZ & co have to go home with another second place finish

Second half saw VG dig themselves into an even deeper hole, as their failed push outside allowed NiP to plant the bomb on the lower site where Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg's pair of Desert Eagle kills and a one-on-one win won the round.

First gun round went to NiP, as well as the following save round, giving the Swedes map point at 15-5. VeryGames mounted a short lived comeback by winning four straight rounds, but NiP closed out the map at 16-9.

VeryGames won the pistol round as terrorists on de_inferno_se, followed up by two save rounds from NiP. Fourth round saw Schmitt and Cédric Guipouy win a two-on-two, with VG going up 5-0.

Round six saw Lindberg and Richard "Xizt" Landström pick up two kills each as NiP got on board with their first round. VG lost the next round as well before succesfully force buying with two saved weapons, but then NiP struck back, winning six straight rounds.

GeT_RiGhT's NiP are still untouchable in CS:GO

VG won the final round of the half and the counter-terrorist pistol round, but NiP's Desert Eagle buy won them the second round once again. Round three saw VG go up in a two-on-one, but Adam "friberg" Friberg got his team the win.

Next round was in a three-on-three, but Alesund's flank allowed him to pick up three AK47 kills as he bolstered his score to 26/12. VeryGames traded the next couple of rounds, which allowed NiP to go up 14-9.

Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans won a one-on-one for his team, but NiP instantly won a round back to force game point. The match was seconds from being over, but time ran out on the next round with NiP up in numbers.

That was all she sang for VeryGames though, as the Ninjas managed to once again come out on top, with Alesund and Robin "Fifflaren" Johansson winning a two-on-four situation in the B site to win 16-11.

In the third place decider the only team with local support, myDGB.net, defeated Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom's BuyKey 2-0 (16-9 on de_mirage_csgo and 16-13 on de_nuke_ve) to claim $4,000.

AMD Sapphire CS:GO Invitational final standings:

1. Sweden NiP - $10,000
2. France VeryGames - $6,000
3. Slovakia myDGB.net - $4,000
4. France BuyKey
5-8. Portugal k1ck
5-8. Poland ESC Gaming
5-8. Russia zNation
5-8. France eXtensive
9-10. Russia dAT Team
9-10. Belgium Brussels Guardians

This now marks the fourth consecutive event where NiP has taken down VeryGames 2-0 in the grand finals. Next up for NiP will be Thor Open in Stockholm on December 8-9, while VeryGames hasn't announced plans for more events in 2012.

GeT_RiGhT was such a beast, gg. I Wonder how much time will it take to see NiP place second or lower in a tournament.

probably until they lose motivation to practice as hard as they do, which will happen eventually.

If they keep winning prize money don't see any reason for them to stop - doubt they'll lose motivation considering they can beat everyone with the pracc they put in, but its possible :D

Actually, it is VERY common for dominant teams/groups to start getting sloppy with training etc after a period of not being defeated, due to hubris. That's one of the reasons why teams always want humble people who can say "I can always become better" instead of people who say "I'm already the best there is"

as Plainswind says, winning over and over is poison to motivation. after a while you start to think that you're SO GOOD that you don't even need to practice. honestly i expect that to happen to NiP very soon, they've not only won a lot but they're also COMPLETELY DOMINANT in the scene right now. i mean, if the games were tight and they lost some maps here n there they'd feel that they at least were under some pressure, but now? however, NiP seems to have a lineup with people who are very determined to pracc hard. i mean, they have GeT_RiGhT, the biggest cs lover in history for christ sakes. but also the other guys that haven't been quite as successful before are probably still hungry for more.

didn't VG win like 28 tournaments out of 29 or something like that in source? I think NiP will do that and more... money is enough motivation to keep them focused on the game. of course the human body has limits, and they won't practice as hard as they're doing now forever... but Im pretty sure they will still be unbeatable for some months, I don't want to say years... but damn :/

of course they're strong enough individually. have you forgotten this is a new game, NiP have the 2 best players of all time and adapted quickly on top of that, but VG will get closer to NiP with time. This time next year things will be quite different, fnatic, VG, NiP, probably a danish team, possibly mouse.uk etc. will all have the ability to beat each other.

Just to follow up on this, just saw the stats for the tournament - 4 of 5 VG players were in the top 10 ranked players (statistically) as opposed to only GTR and f0rest being in the top 10 from NiP. So individual skill of the VG players shouldn't be brought into question.

Actually, scratch that. I took reakq's 17-0-0 from the team ranking and added to that, but those were matches, not maps. So, in case we count matches, they are 29-0-0 and if we count maps they have 41-0-0.

So frustrating watching VG vs NiP... never seen a team lose so many silly situations. Take that eco round where RPK smashed 3 of NIP before they both ran in like fucking john rambo and died. Or the 3 or 4 anti eco rounds they lost. Individually i think they're probably just as good as NiP, they just do stupid shit constantly against them.

+1 they will see the demos from the match, they will see the errors they made, then they will prevent thoose errors i think. when they manage to do all that, thoose stupid errors, we will have a huge match between thoose guys. In the last matches i saw NiP vs Random team, in this one i saw NiP vs VG with some kind of stupid plays but a real strong team.

NiP cs 1.6 trio is already far past that stage. Most of VG players won`t catch up with that, because even if they`re strong team, but in CSGO its back to basics- individual play. However VG comes from CSS, where main role is for tactics instead, but in CSGO individual play is what matters most and as you can see they`re not on top at it. So many advantageous situations turns into losing rounds for VG and I`m not talking just about VG vs NiP.

Yes, your right. I saw at least 3 rounds, that could be VG rounds, and they lost by stupid ways, i think with more experience , they will stop doing those mistakes. And thoose anti-eco rounds, wow, i dont know how they do that. They won pistol-round and loose a gun round against pistols. dont know In css i think they would make thoose mistakes, but, with such aim they had in css, they could fix it with aim.

Two things. First, while VG would be gaining new experience, what do you think NiP would be doing meanwhile? Waiting for them to catch up? Second, am not really sure what aim VG guys had back in source, but do you have any idea what aim GTR, forest and Xizt had in 1.6? P.S: VG won't know what hit them once Navi and ESC get a hang of this game.

1st-VG can gain more exp by playing vs Nip/ESC/Navi ,than NiP. 2nd-i dont know what game you saw, but i only saw exp. talking in the game NiP vs VG, you cant see way better aim now, like before, in terms of aim, VG are catching NiP . RPK you could say that is the one who has the better aim in VG right now, and he can put a fight in aim against forest/gtr i think IMO. P.S. why VG won't know what hit them ? aer they machines/robots? they dont make mistakes? Theres no one better then them? wow i forgot they came from 1.6, so they are better from the css guys. lol

Shoutouts to pre written articles. Im goin to complete the retarded saucer mentality and say that for vg to beat nip they need to bring three 1.6ers. I mean its sad enough that inferno was rpk vs nip and fifflaren was able to clutch twice.

I was the only one who saw VG strong? NiP even more ofc, but some mistakes at inferno cost VG the match. I dont understand why VG win pistol round and loose against and eco next, they should do the pistol round twice . But VG playd very well, no doubts that they are the team who can take off the leadership from NiP. Gtr and forest, hmm i dont have any words to describe thoose guys, they are like robots made for kill, they dont make mistakes . GG both

VeryGames is good , but they are not getting any better and it's a big problem because soon teams such as mouz, Area51, Lemondogs and others will become stronger and then they will not be in their "safe" 2nd place anymore. They need to take it to the next level as soon as possible .. they are not even close to beat NiP atm, and they are the only team who faced them so much @ finals..

As we discussed above NiP's map record right now is 41-0-0 (W-D-L) on lan..with 6 more wins they will reach SK's 2003 record of 47-0-0 and they will set new standards...and imagine if they had a player like rattlesnk or sgares or azk to do the awping..........

You can't compare 1.5/1.6 records with CSS/CS:GO records, they're completely different games, different engines, stop it.

The 1.5/1.6 records will never be beaten by any new GO record, that's what I mean. It's a new, completely different game.

1.5 and 1.6 are counter-strike games..so is global offensive. the different engine and graphics dont tell me anything as long as counter-strike 1.6 and counter-strike: SOurce play it.

Starting to get boring, so predictable. Love NiP as they are great guys but hoping they get beaten soon.

Well I am pretty sure that will happen soon. Like you saw on this tournaments a lot of strong teams appears. eXtensive! showed real good skill and they are capable to make a lot of damage to VeryGames and NiP, then we have ESC who is every time better and better, then BuyKey who had threaten NiP in their game. Then myDGB made a lot of Damage to VeryGames but unfortunately they didn't play against NiP. k1ck pretty impressive. I think it will be more interesting in 2013 :)

SO now we have mousesports.UK, area51, lemondogs, DGB, verygames, dynamic, progaming.TD, ESC, fnatic, Navi, 3 russian teams and 3 more danish teams that chase NiP haha

Well I think only NiP's advantage is they play CS:GO longer. We saw they are not untouchable but they play very good , they have team's chemistry

i feel that VG are falling down tbh i dont give them more than a month as a team. Also a51 and mouzUK will step up their game and they will improve a lot..fnatic might be good by the half of 2013 but i dont see nip falling from first place anytime soon their way too good srsly..so why not i predict until april 2013 NiP area51 mouz.uk Verygames(with new lineup) anexis ESC Lemondogs dynamic fnatic DGB (they were really really awesome and they were worlds best in css for some time)

Yeah same opinion for VG. I think area51 won't do a lot because they are from USA where scene is not live yet so they are not active as European teams are. Mouz.uk are very good and there is a chance that they will make good progress. The rest of the list is also pretty amazing so next year a tons of interesting matches are coming :)

Let all the retards get on the "boring" bandwagon for fuck sake. When Fnatic won everything in 1.6 was ok, when SK won everything was ok, now that NiP does it it s not ok, just one more thing for the retarded CS 1.DEAD community to cry about.

wp again NiP, the only disappointment is I haven't yet seen a final where VG have looked themselves and fulfilled the skill they have as CS players. They're a completely different side from the one we know from CSS atm. In that second map I swear VG lost as many rounds for themselves as NiP actually won, so many odd plays n mistakes, they almost look nervous.

f0rest is the best csgo player as he is the entry fragger. Gtr is the best flanker and everyone knows you can get more kills flanking then entry fragging. Anyways insane tournament from both of them. <3 NiP

This time VG played much better than the last matches between them. No doubt about that. Despite that they still make a few mistakes that against a team like NIP it's fatal. And then NIP have a beast on there side...GeT_RiGhT.

MyDGB.net team, who won the third place, is from Serbia, but you put national flag of Russia (or Slovenia or Slovakia) for this team. I can't be sure which one of these, cause the flag is too small to see clearly coat of arms). National flag of Russia/ Slovenia/ Slovakia is white-blue-red. National flag of Serbia is red-blue-white.

Even if myDGB is a Serbian organization, they have 3 Slovakians and 2 Czechs in their line up. Because of this, the flag is Slovakian. For example, fnatic has the Danish flag (4 Danish players) whereas the organization is based in New Zealand.
