TyLoo win WCG 2012 for $25,000

Chinese giants TyLoo have secured yet another tournament win in Counter-Strike: Online, this time at World Cyber Games over ZINCTHAI 2-0 (16-2 de_train, 16-8 de_nuke) for $25,000.

World Cyber Games 2012 took place on November 29-December 2 in Kunshan, China. Although no official Counter-Strike tournament took place for the first time since the event's inception, a side tournament took place in CS: Online.

The side tournament sponsored by the developers of CSO actually had a prize purse of $40,000, and gathered a vast majority of Asia's best teams who still remain active in Counter-Strike. We have added all the results for the matches on the event page for those interested.

TyLoo keep racking up more prize money in CS:O

After the two Chinese representatives topped their respective groups, the semi-finals saw TyLoo defeat Malaysian Team LZ 2-0 (16-4 de_dust2, 16-7 de_nuke) and ZINCTHAI barely overcome UMX Gaming 2-1 (22-19 de_nuke, 13-16 de_inferno, 16-14 de_train).

The third place decider saw UMX Gaming take down Team LZ 2-0, while TyLoo overcame their domestic competition yet again in the grand final with a score of 2-0 to win a whopping $25,000.

Broken tag

WCG 2012 final standings:

1. China TyLoo - $25,000
2. China ZINCTHAI Gaming - $10,000
3. Taiwan UMX Gaming - $5,000
4. Malaysia Team LZ

Next up for TyLoo is the grand final of K1 League Season 2 on December 8, when they will take on ETeng for a first place prize of ~$24,000. They will also attend ECL 2012 final of the year in January.

cs:online is really popular in southeast asia, that is why nexus can afford to chip in $40k for prize money.

You mean the owner of CS:O spent $40k? When I think of Valve, I get sick. They probably have 1000% more cash than him and still no support at all.

the company that made cs:online paid for the game to be featured at wcg. valve's equity is estimated at $2,500,000,000, so they definitely have way, way, WAY more than 10x the amount of money nexus does :D

if china's population alone is more than 1.5 billion and we assume that half of the population has access to a computer and internet and 10% of those have CS:O, its comes out to 75 million. thats in china only!

those estimates are completely useless because the conversation was about how many players does CS:O have and your estimate gave 75 millions which is obviously way off. you didnt count that in some part of asia almost noone plays it, that many youngsters dont have good enough pc/internet connection, that maybe every 5th person (guessing) is a gamer and most of asian gamers play other games (i would guess that sc2 and lol are more popular than cs:o) etc. so yeah, you did calculate an estimate but because you left out so many important factors the result doesnt give you anything P.S: nothing against you btw, cheers :)

no csgo tournament in asia now(maybe sales is low as there is almost no css community, but money could make it popular,so i'm not sure). &cs1.6 is already dead in asia(no tournament). so csonline is the only choice for the old guys atm(or retire).

I really wonder why there's so much difference regarding gaming between asia and the rest of the world. Seems like in asia only f2p games have success and people really want to spend money on ingame items rather than the game itself. Also I would get cancer playing cso because of those super-ugly graphics and models.

People only spend money while they like the game. cso is a good choice for people who gave up cs1.6 4 or 5 years ago as more people started to play dota,WOW at that time .They felt lonely among their classmates or gaming community.so they just joined them.when cs appeared in a new package, they relighted their passion for cs and cso is more stable as an online game.(1.6 is more like a LAN game in china). However,i never played cso in my life as i never gave up cs1.6 :D

i don't find that crazy, tyloo has proven to be a good team overall. they beat mouz, na`vi and anexis at iem 6 wc and went out due to head-to-head tiebreaker vs esc; they proved they are a good team.

they are a good team, but not a top team. maybe sometimes they can beat some european teams, but not always. if the overall environment of esports and fking network speed can be improved in China, they will have more chances to practice with european teams other than just Chinese teams, they can become even stronger. but anyway, the best time of 1.6 is gone, and maybe we won't see some players of this 'Tyloo' anymore, let's wait and see.

Huge lag because of no rate options, you can't rebind any keybindings, different weapons/skins (one of fnatics opponents had knifes with longer range, hard kniferound :D also they had skinnier models). The no rate thing is huge because you can't take down multiple opponents basically so the game plays out entirely different.

it also wouldn't hurt anyone to convert it to brazilian reals, canadian dollars or swedish crowns, but just like euros, if you need to know them in your currency, you will have to either a) figure it out b) google it. we're here to cover cs tournaments, not convert currencies.

I like the way TyLoo played lately. Would have been awesome to see them playing against European teams in 1.6 :( Maybe in CSP in 2013 :P

CS:Online is not good game it's only money. i think CS:Online only plays in china. So Asian some players want to play CS:GO cause we love GLOBAL GAMING and everyday plays on steam and 1 problem is ping we usually play with 150 more high ping but i like play. So we want to play and paractice with european players ping is always problem.(sorry my bad language skill)

i dont know if people play CSol for money or not but at least it feels like CS to me,even i got 200 ping playing from US,it's to me better than Go,only problem is the rates, but if you try to play it for fun it's not a problem, besides the map and weapons r more like CZ type,it feels different, but people can stil handle it ,also in asian server they got more ppls than cs server from US,so it's kind of fun to play around with people ,the other problem i dont like is if you quit before the map ends you will lose some points, make it hard to leave sometimes, but if you play well you earn points so fast you dont have to worry 2 much about that. overall it's stil a fun game, but not a serious game.I think if they fix rates and open servers in europe and US it wil become really popular.I wish they can release server in US,better than GO and CSS to me.
