Hawks qualify for THOR Open

After delays of five days, Finnish Hawks have qualified for THOR Open after defeating CPLAY 16-2 on de_mill_b1 and SMBU 16-8 on de_train_se.

Hawks easily defeated Andreas "Xyp9x" Højsleth's CPLAY 16-2 on de_mill_b1 in the quarter-finals, and the semi-final ended up being the final of this qualifier as Lemondogs won a qualifier on Saturday.

Despite the semi-final map being de_mirage_csgo, the match was played on de_train_se which was the grand final map of each THOR Qualifier. SMBU defeated teams such as fnatic on their way to the final.

natu's Hawks are headed to Stockholm

Jonas "ScurK" Finnilä's one-on-one win gave Hawks the first three rounds, but Preben "prb" Gammelsæter's mixteam answered with five uncontested rounds of their own, going up 5-3 early on as counter-terrorists.

Next two rounds were traded, but at 4-6 Hawks managed to find a weak spot in SMBU's defense and won three rounds in a row. Olof "olofm" Kajbjer's three P250 kills tied the game, but Hawks won the final round for a 8-7 lead.

As counter-terrorists Hawks were played a much stronger game, as they won five unanswered rounds before SMBU could get onboard. It wouldn't be enough though, as Hawks would go on to finish 8-1, 16-8 overall.

dreamhack winter was a one time thing but i think they're working on something else now + stockholm is even cheaper to get to... 12h boatride it is for them again i suppose :D

yeah it's not like they would have beaten verygames at dreamhack winter if it wasn't for two mistakes. that's pretty solid considering how inexperienced two of their players are

Sadly no. Most demos from online matches are unobtainable since they are recorded server-side. Which means only the server owner can get them, and teams often borrow servers from someone else or they simply don't want to bother with getting demos. Hopefully Valve will fix this one day and enable us to record with our relays.
