karrigan & moddii depart fnatic

After we reported both Andreas "moddii" Fridh and Finn "karrigan" Andersen leaving fnatic's ESEA roster earlier today, the Danish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive squad has now confirmed both departures.

Fridh joined the team after a disappointing IEM 6 Global Challenge Kiev to replace Faruk "pita" Pita, while Andersen had the task of replacing fnatic's long time leader Patrik "cArn" Sättermon following IEM 6 WC.

With Fridh and Andersen on the team, fnatic became the best team in the world as they overcame Natus Vincere in countless finals in CS 1.6 before Richard "Xizt" Landström left the team to join up with NiP.

karrigan is headed back to mousesports

Joining fnatic to replace Landström was Emil "FYRR73" Karlsson, who managed to win two more Counter-Strike 1.6 tournaments with the team before falling short in CS: Online at K1 League Season 2, where the team placed third.

fnatic finally attended DreamHack Winter 2012 with Dennis "rytter" Rytter, who joined the squad for their first CS:GO event, where they went out after a nailbiting loss against mousesports UK in the group stage.

On their website, fnatic announced that Finn will continue his career in mousesports, while Fridh will search for a new team, although the latter was later bunked by Fridh himself in the comment section.

dunno if you watched DHW but i wouldnt have said Friis awp was strong there. yes they only played CS:GO for a week but what is to tell you that hes going to be a great awper? There are several reasons for these changes, one of them being our commitment to keeping the best team spirit out there, making sure all players feel comfortable playing with each other. Dont understand they removed two of their best players even when they had decent results at their 1st go tournament. Any news on moddii? Will he retire or has a found a new team

We would like to thank Fnatic for their professional attitude in our negotiations about the trading of Finn 'Karrigan' Andersen. When we released Finn out of his contract in March 2012 to allow him to continue his career in Fnatic after we've closed our CS 1.6 division in mousesports, it was purely for his personal best and it's great to see that Fnatic did the same as of today. statment from mousesports imo: there was a clausule in karrigans transfer to fnatic that said that when mousesports form a csgo team fnatic are obligated to let him go. sth like that :D (random troll)

haha yeah, dont know if you remember, but this line up (without practice) finished 2nd at gamegune 2011 losing one BO1 final for SK 16:14. in the same competition they won against fnatic, Na`Vi, Moscow5 and paiN :D

in cs 1.6 (which is better x1000000 times than cs:go) fnatic was best team right now. I doubt in 1.6 karrigan and moddi wouldn't left fnatic (or get kicked). I'm really sad about cs scene right now, we will never seen that "EL CLASSICO" like esc/navi/fnatic/sk, when we cant suggest, who gonna win. There is NiP, nothing more... cs died for me

Literally, THE Best team in the world allready disband when Xizt left fnatic. FYRR73 were a solid player, but - MODDII, Xizt, Karrigan, friis, trace/gux is overall and most likely the finest individually raw-skilled orientated 1.6 lineup to have ever seen the daylight in history of Counter-Strike. With SK 2011 (post Delpan joinage) probably at a second place. ps: if 1.6 will be played in future and these players still will be active then: f0rest MODDII Xizt GeT_RiGhT Delpan would be forever untouchable into all_mighty infinity and nothing less. 16-0/1/2/3 results vs ESC/Navi etc etc until end of human existence

The Prime CS GOD of the kings, none won more and none display near the amount of skillcap cieling in prime(forp), MODDII and Xizt best players of 2012 owning nvi kiddos and slow poles everytime 100% perfect since f0rever. BEST player since 2009, no need to say more (GTR). Most impressive and unique awpstyle talent - most succesfull awp winner of 2011 (delpish) your lineup with poles and ukr wouldnt even reach 10 rounds (especially not in the begining) vs a superior SWE Best, mostly since they To used with their ordinary team play approach from G5 and nvi-lineups.
