CSPromod reveals S.A.S. model

The CSPromod developers have released the first screenshots of their improved player models, featuring the British S.A.S.

The upcoming beta 1.1 version, which is scheduled to be released on Sunday, is gathering a lot of attention from the community as it will introduce brand new player models and animations, all custom made.

The CSPromod team believe that the character-texturing process involved in these models is on par with that used by Valve in its recent games, such as Left 4 Dead, Portal 2 and CS:GO itself.

Below you can find the first screenshots available, featuring the British S.A.S.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that more screenshots will be released on Friday, which will show the work that has been done on the Terrorists' Phoenix model.

Better than the current one. Aslong as when it runs, it doesn't look like it suffers from mental health problems like the current ones do, I don't care :D

CSGO, CSS and CSP are all on an identical engine. That has very little to do with the graphics.

the engine is the same, the textures aren't. An engine makes things possible at a certain time with physics and stuff. Textures are simply kind of "images" you fill the world with. CSP team worked hard on those textures and you'd be a liar if you'd say CSS is the same as CSP 1.1 will be. CSGO is nicer than CSS but I think the textures of CSP will overpower it too. Can't say that for sure now though.

"Second, with the next patch being called "BETA 1.10" you're probably wondering what happened to CSPromod 1.1, announced last year. Well, this so called "1.1" is what the next step of CSP is going to become: it will include our own weapon models, animations, map assets, sounds, and more... We are still working that and will announce details about it when we are ready." You can always check this: cspromod.com/ And this, to be up to date with CSP: update.cspromod.com/

Seriously, just look at the pose.. Coolness, coolness everywhere... Hope the new character animations makes the player models run like aiming/focused swat teams do, and not like the player models in cs:go and source - as they seem to sort of running around drunk and not giving a shit if they hit anything...

i dont get it .. why does there always have to be an opposition?? valve released csgo, css and cs died and the majority of the topteams moved to the new game.. obviously theres more css teams moving than 1.6 teams in the end, but whatsoever .. now what do y'all expect to happen with csp? obviously this game wont have a chance without the topteams and the leagues/events officially choose to play cspromod OVER csgo.. i dont even give a fuck, but if there was a chance this could happen, they should have released csp as csgo instead of now feeding haters of csgo with a game that might have had a chance BEFORE global offensive was released...

you all seem a little bit offended ;) whys that? didnt say ANYTHING about CSGO beeing the better game, didnt say ANYTHING about CSP beeing bad.. ofcourse not everyone whos playing csp is a csgo hater - sounded wrong in my post.. all im saying is that csp doesnt have a chance to exist NEXT to csgo when it gets to competitive gaming (tournaments etc) - we will never have two competitive scenes of cs at the same time like we had with 1.6 and css.. csp takeover csgo and bring a huge competitive scene including all the people that didnt like playing csgo (which is UNDERSTANDABLE FOR ME), or just forget about csp. if the people in charge decide csp will be played on eswc, iem and all the other lans, i will definitely play csp and never start csgo again.. im just mad about the constant switching, you know? would have never moved to csgo if there was a chance of keeping the cs/css scenes active . . and @kRAMER: sorry but fuck you, obviously you are one of the guys i meant with "csgo haters", you just made that clear with saying "valve is trolling everyone like methat thinks csgo is good" -> next time you reply read my post and try to understand it.. again- NEVER SAID/NEVER WILL SAY "this is the better game" "that is the better game". . bullshit.

There you go again with your confirmation bias. CSP will exist alongside CSGO, just as CSS did with 1.6; or as WarCraft III did with StarCraft I. CSGO is, literally, a game with a tiny scene. It is without doubt the smallest scene compared to the amount of media coverage it has acquired. Now, I will not speculate as to why that is. The only thing I will say is this: As long as the CSGO community is so small, it's not a safe bet to assume it will be the main 5on5 FPS game for the years to come. It's also foolish to assume CSP will over night recover the good days of old, when the 1.6 scene was at its peak. The only thing I know for sure is that CSP, unlike CSGO, has the potential to be great. CSGO has ultimately failed to become the savior that we all wanted it to be - to unite the two CS scenes. It has done the exact opposite, it has taken 15% of each scene and formed an even smaller sub-scene. Since the release of 1.09b, a lot of "pro-go's" (as I call them) proclaim that it is too late for CSP; that CSGO cannot be side-tracked by an amateur project like CSP. All it takes is a good game. The original Counter-Strike was a good game to the core. Don't kid yourself into saying CSGO, at its core, is a good game. It's a polished piece of shit, that without Valve's marketing efforts and their (somewhat broken) promises of listening to community feedback, would be in some developers Recycle bin.

I advise you to read an interview with Alex Garfield. He made it clear there that CSP is not meant to be a competitor to CS:GO, just like it is with DotA 2 and LoL. That's the first thing. Second one: there are lots of people who simply dislike CS:GO as a whole - including myself. CSP is the game for me. Everyone should just play what they like, simple as that.

read my post above, I think I clicked "reply" on the wrong person.. i disliked csgo aswell, but I had to switch because I wanted to still play competitive.. ofcourse everyone should play what they like - its not what im talking about :D if you enjoy it, go play fifa 99, i dont give a shit haha .. the thing im talking about is the COMPETITIVE scene - you guys that fell in love with csp surely want to have a csp competitive scene and would love NiP, VERYGAMES, ESC and all them teams to play CSP instead of go. all im saying is: if those teams make the move, everything will be cool, the big lans/leagues will cover it and i will obviously move over too- but wouldnt it have been better to not release CSGO in that case???

The enormous scene that CS had from 2002 to 2005 was only possible because there were not many alternatives in team-based videogaming, let alone online gaming in general. CSGO has already proven that even with great marketing efforts, you cannot create a scene like the one we had 10 years ago. But CSP, as a game, has the potential to reignite that inner fire the scene had back then. CSP does not need the CSGO players, it does not need CSS or 1.6 players.

dude stop talking the same shit as the golovers. It is never to late. And believe me in 6months competive csgo scene is over. Only look a the comments before csgo realase and csp. Huh??? The players are anjoing the game, and the develops use the feedback from community. and what valve did? They are trolling everyone of you who think csgo is good. they didnt use the feedback from the community (maybe from saucers thats why the game is unplayable), and the whole time valve was closed in his own world and dont hear anyone. thats all CSP > CSGO

God people like you are retarded as fuck. A: The current counter strike scene (CS:GO) is in the best state it's been in the 2-3 years. While the shitfuck retarded hltv community can't manage to get their head around it, CS:GO HAS managed to unite the two communities in a competitive level. Everyone is basically dropping CSS and 1.6 and combining their efforts into CS:GO. This isn't all of a sudden going to stop in 6 months time, especially as more and more teams are making the switch and getting to a pro level from 1.6 and CSS. B: Valve have been obviously taking a lot of feedback from both new, 1.6 and CS:S players, mostly from the pro scene. But here's the thing. 1.6 does not make up all of the community. In fact based on Valves information, it makes up in total about a 3rd of overall playerbase. And just because 1.6 whore nazi kiddies enjoy wanking to pictures of Hitler doesn't make their concerns and wishes any more important than the wishes of the CS:S CS:Z, and the new player sections of the community. And overall Valve are doing a good job combining one of the most bitch filled kiddie fiddling communities I've ever seen. C: I'm sure CSP will end up being a respectable game some time in 2020 when it eventually comes out. However unless it can get some serious marketing behind it (Doubtful as Valve have a habit of expecting 1:1 knock offs of their games to be entirely free, see the portal iphone knock off, and legally Valve could at any moment decide to shut the entire thing down), sponsors are never going to pick up what is basically a copy of a game that contained the most volatile part of the CS community. And no, Valve aren't paying sponsors to switch. In fact Aside from SC2, Dota 2, and FGC, CS:GO are the only games that seem to be generating sponsors outside of the developers themselves, like 1.6, and CS:S did. If I had a choice between sponsoring a community that was willing to work and adapt, and a community that breaks into pedo tears every time the slightest of smallest changes are made, then 99% of smart marketing people are going to go for the 1st community 100 times in a row.

So your definition of uniting the scenes are basically taking a fraction of the two major scenes and making a smaller, sub-scene that is, as we speak, losing players? It may be a dark perspective, but those are the facts. Unless a CGS-copy shows up to save the game, CSGO won't be played competitively in two years.

A: You're deluded if it has made any sort of impact on anything. All CS:GO has done is, got on the hook 1.6 was on. 1.6's competitive scene died and taking advantage of the brand and name, GO reached competitive scene in a flash making absolute no impact in the casual scene. The only people that played it were Source players, who desperately needed GO and competitive 1.6 players who needed a job. Following the competitive scene, a handful of people decided to move to CS:GO forcibly liking it just to say "Oh I follow a game with a temporary competitive scene." If you think it has achieved anything you're wrong. It's like a dumb prince spoon fed all life taking over the throne that was held by someone who actually achieved it. Manufactured 'success'. B. Name me one major update that was done listening to a dominant 1.6 player and who does not play Source? Links to sources or you're blabbering nonsense. What community are you even talking about? HLTV.org is PREDOMINANTLY a 1.6 commmunity and it still is. Also, if you're having so much problems surviving between 'kids' yet behaving like one, why don't you fuck off? C. I'm surprised you're relying on valve's capability to market their game to show how CS:GO is somehow superior. Of course, you wouldn't mention anything about the game itself, which you know is garbage. Are you a lawyer? What little knowledge do you have about law that you go on saying "Valve can shut down the CSP project"? What patents registered by Valve has the CSP project copied or infringed? If they can do it, why do they not do it now? I am sure you would come up with nonsense like "Oh because they're not bothered yet" Of course. What is your Source to prove there are no contracts between sponsors, tournament organisers etc and Valve? "If I had a choice between sponsoring a community that was willing to work and adapt, and a community that breaks into pedo tears every time the slightest of smallest changes are made, then 99% of smart marketing people are going to go for the 1st community 100 times in a row." Very well, they are welcome to invest their time, money and energy into a community which barely exists and consists of entirely casual players, which of course is bare minimum. I doubt anybody is interested in that community.

Just played the game for the first time and I really remembered how fun playing cs can be. I've only played CS:GO occasionally since September and the difference is enormous in favor of CSP. The only thing was that I couldn't stop laughing at the model movement, but if they fix it now, I'm ready to pick up CSP and start playing it with my friends.
