Sonia links up with Ubinited

Ubinited have announced that they have added Sonia "Sonia" García from Reason Gaming to their line-up.

The Spanish player was in attendance at the ESWC finals in Paris last month, helping Reason to secure the bronze in the female tournament and win $2,000.

She has now linked up with the five-time ESWC champions, replacing veteran Heather "sapphiRe" Mumm, who has stepped down from the active line-up to become a backup player.

García will be playing with the team from Spain, and despite the huge ping she has and the time difference between her country and the United States, Stephanie "missharvey" Harvey has no doubt that this is the right choice.

"With the ESEA season starting, we wanted to take online more seriously and raise our number of play time hours as a team and as individuals," Harvey told Ubinited's website.

"Playing with Sonia, her being in Spain, sounded like a very stupid idea (because of the ping and especially the time difference).

"However, after testing things out, we started to bond with her and actually tried to make this work on both sides. Sonia has been a revelation to me. I really enjoy her attitude and her desire to learn. She is already a solid player, so things can only go better from here.

"I also want to mention that we are really happy to keep Heather around since she is one of the nicest persons I have ever met. She’s a true teamplayer and will be helping us out whenever she can until her busy schedule stabilize."

Ubinited are currently taking part in ESEA's Open season, in which they currently sit 12th in the Central Division, with two victories from as many games.

Following García's arrival, Ubinited's roster is now the following:

United States Alice "ali" Lew
United States Jennifer "jso" So
United States Christine "potter" Chi
Canada Stephanie "missharvey" Harvey
Spain Sonia "Sonia" García

United States Heather "sapphiRe" Mumm (backup)

For every girl that plays cs fanatically, 10000 guys play it. Ofcourse there'd only be a few girls on par with the top 2000 male players, and not on par with the best 50 or so.

Oh I misunderstood. There is no rule against it, they just decide not to go because they know it will be an early exit. Or they can't find sponsorships for tourneys that aren't female only

if they wanted to No one has stopped them from playing in "male" events. For example, this team, Ubinited, has been playing in the ESEA league, against male teams.

I want to see events with girls playing vs. men normally. In Poland there are that thing, just yesterday ALSEN female played versus other teams and it was okay. I dont get it why they have separate events. It's not our fault that they're bad.

Please. It's easy for you to say that because you're a guy. Guys is better than girls at almost everything. God (if any :D) designed them that way.

But why should we (maybe not we, but organisers of events) put the money in girl's events. They're not worth it.
