aslak replaces naSu in Curse

Curse have confirmed via their Facebook page that former WinFakt member Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä will replace Niko "naSu" Kovanen on the team.

Verkkoperä was last seen playing at the ASUS Open Final Battle of the Year for paistit, helping the Finnish mix team to finish runners-up to KerchNET in the Ukrainian CS: 1.6 tournament.

He will now embark on his first challenge in CS:GO, stepping into the shoes of Niko "naSu" Kovanen, who will keep a backup position on the team.

"I'm happy to play cs again in a great team, especially with allu," Verkkoperä said. It will of course take some time to learn a new game like cs:go but I'm going to use most of my free time playing it.

"I want to thank Curse and all the players for welcoming me to the family."

The change comes as a heavy blow for Curse, who jumped 12 places to fifth in HLTV.org's world ranking after clinching the silver medal at THOR Open last month.

Verkkoperä will make his official debut for his new team this afternoon as Curse will tackle Anexis in ESEA-Invite, in which the Finnish side currently sit seventh, with three points from two matches.

Curse will also be on show at LanTrek this weekend, where they will be clashing with the likes of HyperX FR34KSHOW and Paranoia eSports for the first prize of €1,000.

Following this change, Curse's lineup looks as follows:

Joona "natu" Leppänen
Timo "reflex" Rintala
Jonas "ScurK" Finnilä
Timi "aslak" Verkkoperä

Thats sad since hes one of my first cs idol. I wonder why he quit before really achieve anything in csgo. If he has some problem that forced to his retirement then thats fine but if not then he shouldnt come back in the first place.

naSu never played with the awp for Curse. Allu was the awper (even though he never really previously awped) so i guess they've made this change so they actually have a real awper on the team.
