TyLoo tops ECL 2012 Final of the Year

TyLoo has defeated ETeng in the grand final of eSports Champion League's 2012 Final of the Year to clinch the 35,000 RMB (~$5,630) first place prize.

The organizers of ECL invited the top four teams of the previous seasons to the final event of the year, which included three time champions TyLoo, season two champ ETeng, third ranked ZINCTHAI and finally New4, who were unable to attend and had to be replaced by zzcy in the end.

The 60,000 RMB tournament was played in best-of-one double elimination bracket, similar to the previous ECL tournaments, once again at the Chinese National E-Sports Arena in Beijing.

The stage at ECL 2012 Final of the Year

Opening round saw TyLoo best zzcy 16-3 on de_nuke, while ETeng progressed over ZINCTHAI in a 16-13 win on de_train. While ZINCTHAI knocked zzcy out in fourth place with a convincing 16-4 win on de_train, TyLoo was in for a surprise.

The three time champions fell short against ETeng, who most recently beat them in the grand final of K1 League Season 2, with a score of 10-16 on de_inferno. They wasted no time in knocking out ZINCTHAI on de_nuke however, with a score of 16-9.

Now setup for a dramatic grand final, TyLoo were able to overcome their main domestic competition after two nailbiters, 16-14 opening on de_train and the decider de_dust2 ending 16-13.

Broken tag

ECL 2012 Final of the Year final standings:

1. China TyLoo - 35,000 RMB (~$5,630)
2. China ETeng - 15,000 RMB (~$2,410)
3. China ZINCTHAI - 7,000 RMB (~$1,120)
4. China zzcy - 3,000 RMB (~$480)

TyLoo will now switch over to CS:GO, although the move won't be made by Xuefeng "xf" Lai and Bingyuan "tb" Li, who opt to retire from competitive gaming instead of switching games.

I think none of them are willing to play CS:GO, they need to find another team or just play CS:online.

some consoles are different.More than 90% players only play zombie model, they dont even know Tyloo. That is it, competitive match in China is impossible, most of them play stupid online games and waste money. CSOL2 is more familiar with Source.

a lot of people like the life style of attending tournaments and competing. besides, i'm not sure if you realize how low salaries are in china? it's another country like poland and ukraine where it makes financial sense to play cs if you are one of the best.

TyLoo is the most professional gaming team I've ever encountered. Well-mannered, wellspoken in chinese, and have a great attitude towards the game. Would be an honour to meet a chinese team again, last time it happened, was wNv :) GL and hopefully see you at EU events again China! (I followed the K1 League season, and also previous ECL seasons!)

well, they comprehend their own language perfectly. it's insane how they are professional :) TyLoo have a real strategy behind this team and behind their organization. Wish teams from EU could adopt their way of managing their own teams and events!

If the asians switches to GO the game have a good chance of becomming big. Also asians are really fun to watch cause they do all kinds of crazy shit, atleast in 1.6 back in the days

*sigh* I live in Singapore... Everyone plays GO here, and in the surrounding countries like Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and Thailand. Also from what I've heard people also play in northern Asia like Japan, Hong Kong, China. There's a decent amount of Indians playing too but a lot of them simply don't have the computers to run CS:GO, no matter how much they tell you the game is shit (Piyush K. comes to mind). The fact as to why Asia has never been big with CS is that we have had no collective place for consistent competition. We have nothing like ESEA or ESL and henceforth the competition isn't sustainable.

And what about the ping problems due to huge distance between players? I Guess only in the big cities its easy to play online? Or is the standard network fast enough?

Most countries surrounding Singapore get good ping, approx 70-100, apart from Malaysia who get more around 20-30.
