fnatic FragOut league announced

fnatic have announced their first online CS:GO tournament, called Fnatic FragOut CS:GO League, featuring $2,750 in cash prizes and some of the best teams in Europe.

The last edition of the fnatic PLAY League came to a close in June, with fnatic's own team, then represented by three Swedish and two Danish players, coming out on top after defeating Anexis in the final.

With fnatic's CS:1.6 division having switched to CS:GO, the organisation has now decided to put together a new online tournament, which will run from January 27th to February 10th, featuring the new game and eight teams.

The contestants will be divided into two groups of four teams, with the winner of each group automatically through to the semi-finals. The second and third-placed teams will then play a relegation phase to contest the last two places in the last-four stage.

Fnatic FragOut CS:GO League participants' list:

Sweden Ninjas in Pyjamas Ukraine Natus Vincere
France VeryGames Denmark fnatic
Sweden Lemondogs Germany mousesports
Russia Virtus.pro Denmark Anexis

The group draw will be done live on Thursday at 20:45 on ESPLanet.

"Thanks to Eizo, Xsplit and AverMedia, we are happy to announce the FragOut CS:GO League where the top 8 teams in Europe can compete against each other," fnatic General Manager Danijel "StreeT" Remus said.

"With ESPlanetTV and sL4M of StarLadder, we will try to bring high quality streaming content of all the matches in both English and Russian language.

"As you can see in the schedule, it's packed with action every day, and we will be doing raffles, give-aways for all of you on both streams.

"Hopefully this will be only the first season of FragOut CS:GO League and we will hopefully see many more seasons in the future. We hope you will enjoy every moment of it."

When compared to the $4,000 that were up for grabs in the last edition of the fnatic PLAY League, the prize purse has been reduced by $1,250, but it was still enough to convince the European elite to participate. Below you can find how the $2,750 will be distributed among the top three sides:

1. $1,500
2. $750
3. $500

The complete schedule of the tournament looks as follows:

Group A Match 1 - 27th January
Group B Match 1 - 28th January
Group A Match 2 - 29th January
Group B Match 2 - 30th January
Group A Match 3 - 31st January
Group B Match 3 - 01 February
Relegation stage - 3rd & 4th February
Semi-Finals - 6th & 7th February
Third place decider - 8th February
Grand-Final - 10th February

Stay tuned to HLTV.org for full coverage of the Fnatic FragOut CS:GO League, which will kick off on Sunday.

lastest results says everything...esc, nip and vg are pretty much the same atm. maybe nip is a bit ahead, but not much. difference between these 3 teams and the rest is pretty big, and one or two map-losses won't change that.

Dont be stupid people 110% ESC declined the invitation for a reason that does not matter. Stop saying the tournament would be better with them

for me anexis and mousesports shouldn't get an invite. mouz runs a nice Lose streak and anexis arent the team they were at the beginning of cs:go The should add Curse and ESC instead of them

I urge people to think twice and understand that some teams were not able to participate, hence why they are not on the list.

I really like to see NiP and Verygames in 2 different groups, that way, probably will be NiP vs Verygames final and we can see how well ScreaM performs alongside with verygames at final.

I'm definitely going to watch NaVi playing if they have improved a lot! Would love to see those Cups who are open for everyone! If I remember it right they had them back in the days from time to time..

Why are Mousesports in there. They are literally one of the worst professional teams in CS:GO at the moment.

For an online tournament it is pretty decent. Despite the cut with regard to the previous edition.
