I do think Astralis will take this. Astralis has already reached their goal for the major, and will play with less pressure. they secured their Legend status. VP in the other hand will try hard asf, and we all knows what happens for VP at MUST WIN games. They fail big time. Bad decider map for VP, they were banning Cache lately, VP should take train though, Astralis had struggles there. Yeah, okey, they are, but it's not based on their good performance, they played poorly for most of the game, won a lot of late rounds with a little bit of luck on their side, if their T side doesn't improve, they will get stomped in semis.

Win is a win is the most retarded thing people say in the CS world LMAO. 2 OT vs a weaker Astralis doesn't have the same worth than a 16-10 win vs SK. If you struggle that much vs Astralis (6-16 vs Gambit) you don't deserve to be in the semi. GJ on the Liquid win though but you won both pistols so it helps and Liquid is probably a better team.

They didn't smash Dignitas (even though i would be contradicting myself if i wouldn't be saying that it was easier for Astralis than the score of each map made it look like), and even though gla1ve played really well today, he has been playing more than fine the whole tourney. And to be honest VP probably has fallen from their peak so much if they start comparing to Dignitas (team who should not reach a top 8 at a major AT ALL with their current level, even on an easy group) and say "we did better than Dignitas". Dignitas is a quite crappish team for a Major competition, so good to see that VP isn't bad enough to not do better than Dignitas xD :>

A valiant attempt that failed. Astralis have 1 coach and 1 substitution to achieve such progress, that's good enough. The most important thing is they get in legend group. Like Nip and EnvyUs, they have to fight for a qualify in next DH major. But something have to say, if Astralis want to achieve much bigger progress, they should keep g1ave and kick Xyp9x, whatever how good friendship they are.

That's the problem. Everyone carries sometimes but it's not about the game you carry, it's about how you play when you don't achieve your A level. don't just focus on KDA. check damage curve more, and check how to get a score. then u will find who did the real contribute for a team. that the reason why sometimes Karrigan's KDA as same as Xyp9x and Dupreeh, but he is still the world best breaker. like football, there are forward/strike/midfield/back. commonly, forward and strike have higher price than a back field player. in CSGO, it's same. Karrigan as breaker, like forward player, Device like a midfield commander. Xyp9x and dupreech are more like assistant role--if device or karrigan can't finish their kill, then they to ambush the injured enemy. the last 2 survivor always Xyp9x and Dupreeh, that can prove this point.

I edited my reply, but it seems disappeared. sorry for that. just review the first match when they vs dignitas, Overpass. although Xyp9x has good performance, but this only happens when he play against Danish team. play against with SWE team, like NIP,or Fnatic, he always the worst one in Astralis. The different between Device and Xyp9x survive at last in Astralis are: 1. Device is survived after he killed 1 or 2. 2. Xyp9x is survived cause he hide in the back, without killed anyone. A short example can help u to easy understanding: 1. Karrigan's kill are commonly comes from breaking kill. it's very hard. 2. although Device do some ambush, but he commonly kill 1 or more. so, it's ok. 3. Xyp9x's question is: when he faced with an injured enemy, like 20hp, maybe he can finished the job; but when he faced with a full 100 HP enemy, he can hardly to kill him when they faced in front of each other. I mean, 1vs1 ability not good as major TOP 16 team players. u can random to check their match(TSM/Astralis) in ESL, DH, MLG, u will find this phenomenon.

I love "2 stand-ins" excuse. Glaive is excellent. He is replacing one full time player, but he is doing it in an excellent manner, so there is only 1 real stand-in.
