Everyone are practically allowed to hardware cheat these days. All it takes is a unique code, a creative mind and not being a total idiot (forsaken) and you are all safe. LAN or not. Not a single tourney organizer has ever opened up a mouse or keyboard to gain direct access to the onboard chip. This is the only way to check for cheats properly. As long as they allow private gear while not checking it properly, they are practically allowing cheats. I dare to say that a lot of pro's would never have become pro's in the first place without cheats. (This is a direct answer to those who think pro's would be stupid to cheat, risking their career.) I also think that anyone ever caught cheating shouldn't get a second chance. No matter what age they were caught at. It's irrelevant to me. They proved they have a mindset capable of cheating, and as such, should never be trusted to be clean. Valve will never ban a player if they can avoid it. It's very bad PR. They will only ban players caught by 3rd party software or players irrelevant to the top of CS.GO. Players, Casters, Analysts, TO's etc. opinion about cheats are irrelevant. They will hurt their own potential income if they call cheats. The best solution would be to outsource all anti-cheats to an independent party. Cheating at CS.GO pro level is no better than fraud, lying or stealing, as that's what you essentially are doing. But hey....it's a level playing field. They are ALL practically allowed to cheat, with very little risk compared to the rewards. They are not breaking any laws, except if they are from S.Korea, who had the balls to make competitive cheating illegal.
