fnatic land MODDII, stingeR

fnatic have announced via their official website that they have bolstered their squad with the additions of Andreas "MODDII" Fridh and Lasse "stingeR" Midtstue from Torqued.

fnatic ventured into CS:GO in November with their highly-successful 1.6 squad, but good results have been very hard to come by, resulting in a series of roster changes for the team.

More recently, fnatic signed Andreas "Xyp9x" Hojsleth and Magnus "JOKERN" Barthel, but almost no improvements were made as the team finished fourth at HKLAN and sixth in the Gaming.dk League.

fnatic have now decided to reshuffle their squad once again by parting company with Dennis "Rytter" Rytter, who was the team's ingame leader, and Magnus "JOKERN" Barthel.

MODDII makes fnatic return

To complete their squad, fnatic decided to re-sign Andreas "MODDII" Fridh, who left the team in December after almost one year in the organisation, along with his Torqued team-mate Lasse "stingeR" Midtstue, who was part of the former mousesports.uk team who finished third-fourth at DreamHack Winter.

fnatic's Chief Gaming Officer Patrik "cArn" Sättermon issued the following statement for fnatic.com:

"After reviewing our development in Counter-Strike GO, we have come to the conclusion that new blood is needed in order for us to reignite our motivation and optimism. This is what we feel, we so urgently need to get back on the field as a contender for the medals.

It is always painful to go through player changes, and today's are not any different. We are respectfully bidding farewell to Dennis "Rytter" Christensen and Magnus "JOKERN" Barthel, who both joined our ranks officially in early January 2013.

Even when we have seen moments of brilliance from the current constellation, the team feel that they do not see any progress in reaching consistency and confidence as a team. Both of these characteristics have always been the main traits of our Counter-Strike division. We believe our two new additions, Moddii and stringeR, will be the vitamin injection we need to get back our former glory.

I'm personally very excited to welcome Andreas back to our ranks – you have surely been missed! At the same time, I'm confident that Lasse "stingeR" Midtstue will be a deadly asset for our squad. Finally I would like to thank Rytter and JOKERN for their time in Fnatic, and wish them the best in the future.

Game on!"

Returning member Fridh also made a statement expressing his joy about reuniting with fnatic:

As you all can see I'm back in the black and orange again. I couldn’t be any happier, my goal has always been to play on the top level and compete with the top teams. Now that I’ve joined Fnatic again, I have the possibility to do just that and it feels really good. Our goals are of course to bring ourselves to the very top of the CS:GO scene and with hard work and a lot of fun, I know we will make it. I brought stingeR with me from Torqued, who I have been playing for since I departed Fnatic and he is just an awesome player and a great guy that will fit into this organisation just perfectly. I'm really confident in this team and I do believe we are going to a top contender against NiP.

And last but not least I want to thank Fnatic for giving me the opportunity to again play for the best organization out there and play among my good friends Michael (Friis), Martin (Trace) and of course Xyp9x and stingeR.

fnatic's first event with the new lineup will be Copenhagen Games in late March, where they will playing with:

Denmark Michael "Friis" Jørgensen
Denmark Martin "trace" Heldt
Denmark Andreas "Xyp9x" Hojsleth
Sweden Andreas "MODDII" Fridh
Norway Lasse "stingeR" Midtstue

Good luck to Jokern and Rytter. I'm sorry you had to put up with a lot of flak from the CS community, who often have shown themselves to be nothing more than bullies in the way with which they treat players who occasionally slip up (Fifflaren, ceh9, Loord & kuben, among others). Also I wonder what is going to happen to Torqued now.

But ceh9 role, as I've understood is very different from being a fragger, he's sort of a motivater, he's there to keep the spirit giving moral etc.

^this NaVi said many times they won't change their roster, only if will be forced by some personal issues of a single player. They won't kick ceh9, he is very important to the team, and statistics not showing the effort he gives.

I've watched.him,.and his.reflexes and aim are.just.lacking. his.role.is the energizer/screamer, which a team can do.without, but he's their.friend His role in the digital field could.be filled by a player like ange1 without breaking a sweat

Trace, friis and xyp9x is not ingame leaders, moddii is not ingame leader either, so it must be StingeR, i dont know, it's just a guess. Its like the only option there is, unless some of the others will try to lead, but i really dont see any of them (Moddii, trace, xyp9x or friis) as ingame leaders.

As i said in #213. I´ve followed stingeR for many years now, since i came from the CS:S-community. He really isn´t the leadertype. I would bet my money on MODDII, and i will be very suprised if stingeR really became the igl.

People would say the same about MODDII precisely, though. If you knew MODDII, you wouldn't assume he is IGL, he is the entry fragger/aimer. I would guess trace or friis.

I dont really care what language they are speaking tbh., but if you speak norwegian in front of me, I can understand what you're saying. If stingeR cant, he's just gonna have to learn it, if they will be speaking Danish. Why would 4 players, all speaking perfect Danish, speak another language?

As much changes they do, they won't never find even a top5 lineup. They need a new team, fresh blood like OI (if they spend the hours to be there) or idk which other...don't say TORQUED because they are freaking bad and shit.

Friis, trace and MODDII (+ karrigan) played 14:16 against OI on DH Winter 1 week after their last 1.6 tournament, with 1 stand-in for fyrte and almost zero hours in CS:GO. I'm sure they will become very strong in CS:GO. And Xyp9x is a very talented guy too. Not sure about stinger, but I heard he did pretty well in Sauce. This new lineup is clearly an improvement.

Bitch please. They dont even practise. Its allways like that with rattlesnKs teams. They sign up for an event and practise 1 or 2 weeks, then they go back to their irl-life. They might be good individually, but they are prolly not motivated, they lack experience and they dont practise. Those 3 things are easily the most important thing, when having a CS team.

Lack experience? I hope noone of them reads you lol because they couldn't laugh enough. They don't practise because they didn't have a good org offering them what they deserve. They have studies and jobs...why should they stop that for playing a game when it doesn't worth. It's not difficult to understand but you are brainless. 3 things where you are not right. I won't even reply you more, no point.

I'll quote you as many times as I want to, as this is a public forum. CSS had nothing huge at all. They didnt have mayor tournaments, such as IEM, WEM, e-Stars, KODE5, DreamHack, you name it. THOSE are the event, which gives experience. You dont get that ammount of experience, when attending semi-huge LANs such as the iSeries.

For all the people hating on trace, remember he was top 3 CS 1.6 players. And all though it's a new game, don't count him out. Maybe the transition is taking longer for him, but I wouldn't doubt his ability to be a top player in the near future

agreed. they probably didn't wanna lose players like trace and friis though. And now they have moddii, so they're potentially better than ex-Anexis now.

He started out in 1.6 but moved to Source quite early, always been one of the best aimers in both 1.6 and CS:S but it was in CS:S that he really established himself, played with some of the best teams in the world and placed well at some of the biggest events. He's an excellent player with an excellent attitude and an asset to any team he's in.

Fnatic should've just stuck with Trace, Friis, Moddii and Karrigan, and kicked Rytter if there were chemistry problems there. They threw away a dream team prematurely. </Captain Hindsight>
