VeryGames survive Dynamic scare
VeryGames are through to the Upper semi-finals of the ESEA Global Finals following a 2-1 victory over Dynamic (16-7 on de_inferno_se, 7-16 on de_dust2_se, 16-8 on de_mirage_go).
The French side got to start on the Terrorist side on de_inferno_se, but it was actually Dynamic who made the first move as Sal "Volcano" Garozzo pushed the banana to leave some of VeryGames' players low on health. VG took some time to make their move, but they eventually got back to the B site and held it down to take the lead.
The first anti-eco round then went to VeryGames, but Dynamic crawled back into the game in the third round after putting two players in the corner area in middle, something the Frenchmen did not expect. VG still planted the bomb on the A site, but the Americans managed to take control of the situation to reduce the deficit to 2-1.
However, VG had plenty of money to spare and made amends in the following round, restoring a two-round lead. With the score now at 3-1 in their favour, VG got into some serious trouble in the fifth round, seeing Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom and Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, both very low on health, go up against three Dynamic players. Still, the VG duo won the round after planting the bomb on A, with Schrub picking up two AWP frags.
Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans was calling out some very slow strats for his team, who were in complete control of the tempo and kept going back and forth around the map before deciding which bombsite they should attack.
Dynamic then finally began to show their true colours and won four of the next five rounds to reduce the deficit to 8-5. Even though the Americans were still allowing VeryGames to plant the bomb, the difference was that they were finally able to retake the sites. The last two rounds of the half went to VG, though, as the French side sat on a comfortable 10-5 lead before switching to the CT side.
Having conceded a total of 10 rounds during the highly-favoured CT side, Dynamic knew they had to win the pistol round to remain in the race to win the map, and that is exactly what they did, rushing the B site after feeling VG out on the map during the first minute of the round.
Dynamic then surprisingly lost the anti-eco round, and they only have themselves to blame. After Braxton "swag" Pierce was picked off early in the round, Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert accidentally knifed Eric "adreN" Hoag, leaving the team in a three-on-five situation, which VG controlled with easy.
Losing the round in such a way really broke Dynamic’s spirits as the American side saw themselves on the back foot once again, with VG coming out on top 16-7 to take the lead in the tie.

ScreaM on fire on first map
Next up was de_dust2_se, where Dynamic came out very strongly and strolled to an early 6-0 lead. VeryGames then finally managed to score their first round of the map, but the Americans responded right after and regained control of the game.
With the score now 9-1 in favour of Dynamic, VeryGames changed their playing style and opted for a much more aggressive approach, which bore fruits at first as they picked up two rounds in a row. After that, we saw what was perhaps one of the most well thought-out moments in CS:GO to date, as Pierce found himself in a 1-on-1 situation with Droolans on the A site and dropped a pistol, forcing the French player to look away, thinking it was a flash grenade, before taking him down.
Before the end of the first half there would still be another moment of pure magic from Dynamic’s players, this time Gilbert, who helped his team to retake the B site with three kills in quick succession, the last of which was a flick shot.
After losing the first half 11-4, VeryGames knew they had a mountain to climb to turn things around, and they got off to a very good start after the break, picking up the opening three rounds. The first gun round, however, went to Dynamic, who gave up catwalk but still managed to retake the A site after the bomb was planted. That round was just what Dynamic needed to pick up where they had left off in the first half and powered the Americans to win the map 16-7 and the decision to de_mirage_go.

n0thing in impressive form in CS:GO LAN debut
de_mirage has traditionally been one of VeryGames' weakest maps, but the French giants came out the brighter and won the opening round with an A rush. They did the same strategy in the anti-eco round that followed, but this time around Dynamic were prepared and picked off the rushing opponents with their pistols.
The North American team then stamped their authority on the game and took the score to 6-2 in their favour, but VG gave a strong response and levelled things up on six rounds. Some rounds were then exchanged between the two sides, with the Frenchmen taking a narrow 8-7 lead going into the CT side.
In the second half, VG won the pistol round and followed it up the two anti-eco rounds. Droolans' troops were now in control of the game, and though Pierce pulled one back for his side with a clutch in the 22nd round, it was too little, too late, as the European side secured a 16-8 victory to go through to the next round.
