Epsilon knock out WW, LDLC move on

Epsilon have knocked Western Wolves out of DreamHack Summer 2013 with a 2-0 score in the quarter-final (16-12 on de_dust2_se, 16-11 on de_inferno_se). At the same time LDLC.com moved past ESC Gaming with the same score (19-16 on de_train_se, 16-4 on de_nuke_se).

Western Wolves were the favorites against Epsilon despite Swedish team's respectable play in the Swedish Championship final last night, so going into the first map de_dust2_se it didn't seem likely the young Swedes would have much of a chance.

Nevertheless, despite seeing their 5-0 advantage quickly melt down, Epsilon took 8 rounds in a row and went up 13-5. The Danish team tried their best to get back into the game, but Jesper "jw" Wecksell led Epsilon scoring-wise to close it out with a 16-12 scoreline.

Epsilon moving on to DreamHack Summer 2013 semi-final

The second map, de_inferno_se, saw Sweden's second best team fall behind 6-2 on the favored CT side, but they reduced that deficit to just one round difference at the half.

Switching sides, Epsilon showed why they were able to take down NiP on this map last night as even though they dropped the pistol and went down 10-7, they took full control from that point on and won nine of the final ten rounds, clinching the match with a 16-11 score.

LDLC.com, the top team from Group D, met the Polish representatives ESC Gaming in a match that started on de_train_se. The French started well on the T side, but the Poles adjusted and calmed the storm to go ahead 9-6. After sides changed, ESC continued doing well and they seemed comfortably ahead 14-6, but eight rounds in a row by LDLC evened the score at 14 apiece.

With the French now feeling confident, Filip "Neo" Kubski broke their streak with a vintage action in the inner bombsite, scoring 4 kills to put his team on match point, but Gordon "Sf" Giry replied with 3 headshots in the next round to take the match into overtime. LDLC.com came out as winners in the end thanks to a perfect CT side in OT, eventually taking the map 19-16.

kennyS continues impressing during his first big LAN with LDLC.com

On de_nuke_se LDLC.com completely outclassed Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas & co. by stopping all but one of their attacks in the first half. The Poles took the pistol and the following anti-eco rounds, but as soon as the French team got their hands on some bigger weapons they closed it out with a 16-4 result.

On the other side of the bracket NiP vs. Cph Wolves and Virtus.pro vs. Lemondogs started late due to some admin miscommunication, so both of those matches are still in progress.

well well well some onliners are going strong on LAN? how is that possible? i bet some teams, organisations and cups are scratching behind their ears at the moment because of accussing and banning Epsilon for "cheating" (oh hi ESC, NiP, Thor et...)

The funniest is n!faculty noobs, accused Epsi of cheating, said CU AT CPH as a smart comment (we know what happened there for n! and what Epsilon did ) and now Epsilon 2nd place twice at Dreamhack. Their achievements on lan is amazing atm..alot better then online.
