NiP ease past Virtus.pro to DH final

NiP made it past Virtus.pro in the semi-final of DreamHack Summer 2013 with a 2-0 score (16-6 on de_mirage_ce, 16-9 on de_dust2_se) and despite their earlier struggles they will be the clear favorites to take first place when they meet Epsilon.

Virtus.pro opened up the semi-final with a pistol round win on the terrorist side of de_mirage_ce, but the Ninjas went for their usual third round buy with FAMASes and were quickly able to tie the game at two apiece.

Virtus' revenge buy didn't pan out, and they found themselves trailing 2-6 before winning their next round. Virtus were able to win two in a row, but the Ninjas then claimed back the momentum and went on a winning streak of their own.

f0rest was once again instrumental to NiP's success

NiP changed sides with a comfortable 10-5 lead, and quickly won the second half pistol round thanks to two kills from both Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg and Christopher "GeT_RiGhT" Alesund in the A site.

The CIS-based squad were only able to clinch one more round, an early force buy, before NiP put them out of their misery with a commanding 16-6 win to move onto the second map of the semi-final with the help of Alesund's one-on-three heroics on the final round.

Adam "friberg" Friberg opened up de_dust2_se with three Glock kills on the pistol round that allowed NiP to go up 3-0. Strong awping from Sergey "Fox" Stolyarov and a three frag A retake from his brother Mihail "Dosia" helped even up the score at three. Two kills from Emil "kucher" Akhundov finished the Swedes on the eighth round, but time ran out and the bomb exploded.

NiP rode the momentum for a good six more rounds to make it 10-3 before Virtus could respond, and were also able to win the final round of the half for a strong 11-4 opening half lead as terrorists on de_dust2_se.

Virtus attempted to come back in the second half but a ninja-ish defuse from Lindberg and a one-on-two clutch from Alesund allowed NiP to ultimately win the map 16-9, and the series 2-0.

What's the shit with their country? You think your comments have more interest because you're Russian and a team with two Russians won a tournament beating NiP? You can be angry with VP's loss, but keep it to yourself if you can't express it in a smarter way.

Maybe you should be more specific when you write such comments. You know this site was 100% cs1.6 version forum. As you know, GuardiaN was a 1.6 player too. I never knew that GuardiaN was a CSS player. That's way i thought you write some 1.6 random events...

i was talking about go, in the first place. even if u pasted here sauce events, he still lacks a big tournament. he has over 50% of the tournaments in czech republic, lmao. again, he was so good in every team, but his teams never won anything important. overrated as fuck and low team payer. needless to say he loses himself in important moments. lol, winning a cadred prize is funny, seeing how they create the mvp's list. that rat-look of riheyk or what the fuck is his name + the neverending stupidity of gonzo sure means alot.

Was never that close and exciting, too bad AdreN left, even tho GuardiaN prolly is the best awper in the world and the best replacement they could of get it really feels like the chemistry with AdreN was a lil bit better and made VP slightly more dangerous, an edge that can change outcomes of games on this level.

It is upsetting, but not too much though taking into consideration the fact that GuardiaN is new to the team and they do have those little communication issues and basically only angel is able to talk to him in English even though he did start to understand certain Russian sentences game related which is good, but in any case the result was predictable, so VP just needs time to get their act together and practice if they do decide to keep GuardiaN on a permanent basis, which is kind of already the case right now, and decide not switch back to AdreN, but in AdreN's recent interview taken after he left the team ---> youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedde.. where he was asked a question whether he would love to return to VP after his Kazakstan Gamer Finals he clearly said "ABSOLUTELY" he would if he got such an offer and he did say that right after his games there in Kazakstan he's going back to playing CS:GO on a permanent basis, so it's hard to say right now what is going to happen. In any case, GuardiaN is a great fit for VP anyway it's just it'll take a little more time and effort to get back on the fit properly and start winning hard again. Some strategies were/will change in near future since GuardiaN is basically the main awper and VP would have to change their style strategic wise probably a little as well.... Anyway, bla bla bla, NiP showed great game against VP, VP's mistakes were more or less understandble with a new standin, and thank Lord that this is not the result with AdreN in the team, cause if AdreN played and VP lost this match with such a score difference then it would've been a completely different story, but today nothing to blame VP for... They showed what they could after almost no practice at all what so ever with da new guy! Still good to share 3/4 bronze place with LDLC at such a huge event. gg gl Epsilon in da finals! IMHO

nip barely passed the groupstage and still destroy the arguably top3 teams in the world (CW/VP) with such ease. Your comment makes alot of sense. On the other hand, fnatic in 1.6 ALWAYS struggled in the groupstage and ended up winning it all so, so much knowledge
