Nostalgie upset Anexis in the semis

Mixteam Nostalgie have completed a three map upset win versus the Brits of Anexis with a 2-1 (9-16 de_dust2_se, 16-13 de_mirage_ce, 16-1 de_inferno_se) to advance to the grand final of Prague Challenge.

Anexis started off their semi-final versus Nostalgie with a quick B rush on de_dust2_se. Aleksey "OverDrive" Birukov's team struggled to win rounds as counter-terrorists, and finished with just three rounds.

After losing the second pistol round as well, Nostalgie bought third round and stayed in the game for a while, winning six gun rounds in total. Ultimately it was Daniel "RE1EASE" Mullan though, who led his team to a 16-9 win.

Filip "Neo" Kubski stepped up his game on de_mirage_ce and led his team to a strong 10-5 first half after a big early lead that the Brits started coming back from towards the end of the half.

Nostalgie found themselves trailing 10-11 in the second half, but a key mistake by James "Mx" Smale lost them a round at 13-14, and Sam "RattlesnK" Gawn's team fell short against the mixteam on the second map.

It seemed like all the wind was taken out of Anexis' sails on the third round of de_inferno_se, as Birukov clutched a one-on-two situation in the B site with low health and allowed Nostalgie to gain an early advantage.

The Brits could never recover, going down 0-13 as defenders before finally scoring their first round. Kubski won a one-on-two in the second half pistol round, and his team closed the series out with a 16-1 win.

Nostalgie will go on to face Natus Vincere in the grand final for 5,000€, set to start after a short break. Anexis will play against nEophyte for a third place finish and 2,000€.

AHAHAHAHA That was too funny! I was screaming like a little girl watching inferno. These guys don't even understand each others properly, used only some minutes to name the areas and they have a guy with only 110 hours in CS:GO and who never was a "pro" ---> still they beat Anexis 16:1 on inferno and in a BO3. HILARIOUS. Neo and kennyS played brilliant! That pistol 1on3 from neo :O TaZ and apEX did also great. These two guys made so many important entry frags. Even OverDrive won several important situations on inferno. ANEXIS: DROP THE CURRENT TEAM AND PICK UP ESC!

He didn't impress me on any international tournament. He wasn't bad, but still far away from the top. He never played in a real team that won something on a international level. Everytime I watched a mix he was playing in, he was the worst. Still he seems to be a cool guy who truly loves CS.

Major respect for overdrive after that interview... he doesn't get support from his family, earns money through a dayjob that he uses to sponsor trips to tourneys. Spending hard earned money like that takes some passion.
